    Maybe Zoch this round

HAHA! I don't think so....Matt WANTS this one....and Coach Landry knows that! He's going to let him compete!

Starting Zoch and closing with Matt is the strategy I see Caoch Landry going with. Zoch has been money all year and what a comfort to know if he gets in a jam Hicks is waiting in the pen. I see Zoch really gaining some respect in this one and BC takes it 4-2.

You forgot to mention, Great arm.

I don't think The Voice forgot. He just understands the attitude is of equal importance. Great arm+bad attitude will not produce long term success.
  3. Well I have watched a couple of scrimagges now, but only a couple because of all the rain. But Gabe is pretty close imo.

    1. Nederland- They are number one until someone proves otherwise. Loads of talent.
    2. Vidor- I may be the only one who agrees with you but I think Hester could beat Nederland both times. He might not loose a game in district. Plus all the other experience coming back they have.
    3. BC- This 3a district is the cardinals until someone takes it.
    4. OF- Basiclly 9 returning starters and 2 Big XII signees. Someone said "could this be the year?" Well if it is not it may never be.
    5. PNG- I could see them making a very long playoff run. And if a few things break right could easily win the district. Might should  be in front of the 2 3a schools, but I think they play BC so we will see.
    6. Jasper- Should probably be in the top five but I seldom make it up north so I haven't seen them yet. I think they come to the Vidor tournament maybe I can catch them then.

There are alot of talented players who don't get a scholarship each year. Unless you are at the very top tier of talent and are only playing high school ball these days, very good chance you may get overlooked.
    Just my 2 cents.

JMO but I think if this is the case then you are at the wrong highschool.
  5. I agree this should be a very exciting district especially at the top. And there are many questions for each team to be answered. This is how I see it.

Can Nederland live up the hype? When anything short of a second district title and return trip to regional finals will be a disapointment. I say yes. I see them absolutley cruising to the regional finals this year.

Can PNG upset Nederland? They will be right there. I doubt they can overcome the powerful dogs, but wouldn't be at all suprised to see them playing Nederland in the regional finals.

Is this the year Vidor wins their first playoff series? I think it is obvious that they get in fairly easily. This may be the most talented group they have had and really need to have some playoff success with this group.

Can LCM overcome their youth and lack of pitching? I doubt it. Those are a bad combination. I see an upset in this spot. Probably going to Lumberton.

Will Lumberton make a return to the post season? It has been a while, but this could be the year. With LCM being down and Lumberton seeming to be on the rise look for those two games against LCM to be huge.

What will Livingston bring to the mix? Not real sure to be honest. However the 4th spot is up for grabs in my opinion and I wouldn't count them out. There people seem to have some confidence going in.

Can Ozen get back to their upsetting ways? For years Ozen was the team no one wanted to play. Talent has been a little down the past couple of years, but Coach Thomas does an outstanding job.

Of course no one has even started practice yet so who knows. But I for one am looking forward to watching the answers to the questions play out on the field.
  6. Hey I am not hating the sundevils. I agree they do a great job. It just appeared to me from their most recent roster they seem to be leaning more and more out of "south east" texas with only 8 of 20 being from what I would consider southeast texas. I am a south east texas guy, and you all have done well by the kids in this area. Just hope yawl trend back the other direction. If I have a bad read on the current roster then I apologize. My first post was meant to be sort of a joke.
