  1. LUCK>> I'd much rather be lucky than good, besides you have to be ready when luck comes your way and take advanage of it.

I believe the last meeting wasn't even close. Ya HJ got lucky and beat Silsbee and Jasper but BC is a different story trust me. HJ has there work cut out for them.

    BC 9

    HJ  0

  2. Muckleroy, should start looking and forget Lamar, I'm not saying he can't play there but if Gilligan wanted him, most likely it would have already happened. Players that have been missed should go here  http://www.njcaa.org/index.cfm and do some looking for JUCOs and try and make a tryout or camp. IMO players should showcase themselves in the summer after their Jr yr. Did notice the 'Scouting Bureau' will NOT be at Lamar this yr (could change) with their only Texas camp being held in Dallas. Check the MLB home site for changes in the Bureaus tryouts.

  3. IF HJs defense helps and IF the HJ pitcher (Treece) dont make a mistake with a cpl of BC players it should be closer than you would expect, but, IF Custer would have had machine guns it would have been different then toooo. Good pitching beats good hitting ANY day, first pitch strikes are essential and especially in this game.

  4. The Brook, OMG it will always be Forest Park, and don't forget the guy who has (mite still be ??) put FP sports where they are came from French High School and can call him a LONG time friend. Never have rooted for Central but I will say FP came out smelling like a rose when Hebert and CP closed the doors and cried loudly when Ozen opened the doors. Just commented on all the hoop-la about how FP beat a team that most any 2A team could have beat THAT nite. Typical >>westenditus>>"we're better than you and I dont care what you say" Its called selective hearing. BTW you can keep hitting the smite button all you care to>>I CAN TAKE IT, with your help I can get up with some of your cheerleaders. Can't you guys agree the performance of the opposition was lacking somewhat , but I would NOT expect you FP fans to agree on much coming from ANYONE else.

  5. I think if you read back you will see "West Brook was able to captilize on the walks and errows" That in itself has won many games at the professional level, my comments were aimed at the errows, walks, and not producing for Sterling>plain n simple. So just when did the runs from walks and errows become earned runs not that it matters in the score. Don't think I said walks and errows don't win or loose games, just what "if' the line was reversed what would have been said. Like I also said 5 walks, 1 hit batter and 5 errows kinda sucks in a 5a game at this late in the season, surley you think so also. I'm also glad to see a hometown team win no matter what, and this comes from a French High School graduate. BTW mrs baseball I have seen teams that SUCK, capitlize on the other teams blunders but does that make them better>no it just helped them win and part of the game. Murphy did pitch well and the starter got them thru 6, as a pitchers dad HOW I ask can a team make 5 errows, 5 walks n such EXPECT to win. Who juiced the bases when the sac happened and it could have also been a 643 or 463 beings it was thataway. From what I heard and read sounds like Sterling didn't shoot theirself in the foot it was between the eyes.

  6. You have a done well in your condensed version. Sounds like you have done your part in learning and teaching Braggs method. He used to put on camps @ Twin Counties Youth BB with the last kids in atendance now in their last yrs of HS ball and if you have watched them play you will see the short sweet stroke you refer to here. His pitching tapes are also some of the best you can get as he breaks down the mechanics making pitching easy to learn. It's a God given ability to thro 90+ but his teaching will help any kid get all he can get. Brag was the kind of man that could look at a 13 y/o pitcher and know if he would play at the next level after HS. BTW Jim Gilligan can has done the same thing looking at a young pitcher.

  7.   If the lines were reversed, surley you cheerleaders would be saying we outhit them and if you take the 5 walks 1 hit batsman and 5 errows away we would have won. WB was just able to capitalize on the many mistakes. 1 walk or errow can loose a game but back to back to back at this late in the season kinda sucks wouldn't you say. Murphy closing how can it get any better.

  8. Sorry, to blast you, I was thinking your relpy was a sarcastic reply to mrhitters statement on useing Brags methods. The comment I made about a 'know it all atitude' is IMO opinion what keeps ave players ave. I commend you in your work with helping someone become a better player. I too played but was ave at best, and realized early on as a dad that I knew enough about ball to get help. I wasn't under a rock but will crawl under one now for a bit.

  9. MR Hitter,

I have been working with a kid and he keeps striding forward and rolling his back foot over. How do you get them to stay back and pivot ?

I can help here, loose your know it all atitude and get you some help, if your reading skills are not that good Brags books are illistrated and if you can afford them, his videos are really good and even a T baller can understand. BUT first you have to realize that you don't know it all, but don't feel all by yourself as I have said before the stands are full of people just like you. How can someone that never hit their weight teach anyone.
  10. How do you figure good pitching last nite, although they did give up less BBs, WB was outhit, from what I see, walks and errows was the deciding factor. Take away the walks and errows from both and I wonder what the outcome would have been. Its good to be able to captilize on the other teams mistakes and here THAT was the deciding factor >>bottom line. Surely I'll get flamed from the west end (better than you) cheerleaders but that is and has been par for 20+yrs Typical westenditus.
