Congrats to San Jac, you will enjoy Grand Junction without a dought, been there twice. BESURE and get a pic of the brass statue of 'Casey at the Bat' inside the park. I have a pic taken in 99 at JUCO with 5 Tx boys with 4 being from the Golden Tri. all on the same team >Seminole State College. Looks like San Jac will play Cowley (Ark City) this is the team my son pitched for on his second trip to the series. Should be a awesome fireworks display before the game. -
My feelings EXACTLY !!!!!!!!

Think Mickey Mantle was 2.3 to first if I'm not mistaken and I also think the next fastest to first is the Orential guy from Seatle. Mantle could have been 2.7, but still I think the fastest

After 1 0-0, HJ 3up 3 down, Bell 1W 1Hb 2 lob game delay account lightening -
We were there in 97 at a Baseball Factory tryout, I was surprised at the condition of the astoturf. We were allowed full acess to the dome except the players locker room while we waited. As a dad it was way MORE than pretty cool.

Although I havn't seen them pitch, from what I'v read here and other places they do have some good arms and it a KNOWN fact 'good pitching beats good hitting anyday'. I seriously hope they consider the JUCO route over D1s

Best Returning Baseball Team for Next Season

This is exactly what I'm talking about>>how far can you get in a league of your own. I still remember a eve in 96 whre a HJ pitcher no hit WB and can back that statement up, but I'm sure that was before you entered the "League of your own" Although it was JV v/s JV I would have loved to met when the same guys on BOTH teams were varsity players. -
You failed to mention your coach who will have these guys ready, and if any are canditates for the next level he will have them 'good to go'
-
HS pitchers who thro in the high 80s CONSISTANTLY are probably less than you would think. Now touching the 90s is not unusual but to tho in the 90s cosistantly is a blessing and if you look farther you will see why some do. Take Josh Becket, he was throwing mid 90s with a mid 80s +curve in his senior yr, BUT he was HELD back a yr before he entered the 9th grade, giving him a extra yr in HS ball. Becket was taken 2nd after Josh Hamilton who is a yr. younger than Becket but threw mid 90s in his senior yr. If you check the ages and birthdays on current players you can tell more or project what they mite do.

Hmmm rock, could it have been the 'Tall Rock' been there done that.

Thats why I hope you guys win your next round, I'm sure you guys think the loss was a fluke, but hoping to show it wern't no accident. In 97 when you guys had Stan Smith we wanted to come back and meet you with our ace but never made it back around as we couldn't get by PNG. Hope theres a radio station that covers Bellville games. -
I do hope the boys that have signed with D1s have also signed with a Juco. There are many that think you can't do this, and the D1 coaches try and steer you away from this for their benefit NOT the players. If you will look at the D1s roster they are loaded up with x-Juco talent and most are well connected with the Juco coaches.

I'm sure its about the $$$ or liability

I've been out but just flew by the jetties and there were several boats on both sides. Usually I judge if the fish are biting by wether the people are standing up (biteing) or sitting which most were. I really dont know but they are out trying if not it for sure won't be long.

Agree on all but will say there should be LOTS more going on with the availability of the tools todays player can use be it video or private coaches. In the late 90s you saw very few drafted from this area but you are seeing more today and it could be because of these guys in the 90s woke some people up as to the talent here in the GT. The 90s guys were Ben Broussard, Jason Tyner, John Patterson, Beau Hale, Jeff Moye, Josh Girdley, ? Ambrose, among a few others that were drafted and did play at the pro level.
