Some one must have been cut from the Banditos lol.

The posters you speak of are WELL beyond being cut LOL....theys just telling the absolute truth, they darn sure do pickup players for a game or 2 and then claim what the OP posted

  2. Hate to see this happen due to the negligence of the district and that what it is, the above comment is true but you failed to include basketball. Yrs back (97?) when HJ went to 4a they seemed to come up with money to bring football field up to dist standards> new concession, bathrooms, home side fenced off seperate from vistors among others and all the while baseball got 0, infact, as a matter FACT the baseball team had a hard time buying game balls and wondering where they were gonna get the money to pay umpires. Just a cpl yrs later HJ was back in 3a.  What is not been said is the JV has 0 home games and looking at never having a home game. Big discussion on facebook concerning this.......I did notice they picked up the poles and lights from the EXACT spot they were layed out 18-20yrs ago... HJ will get another Gym before lights..... AGAIN

  3. What is a misjudged fly ball?? A hit IS a ball that can't be caught with normal effort, in todays HS scorekeeping IF it don't hit the glove its scored a hit, Don't know the particulars on baserunning BUT IMO BC lost due to Coach Landry playing percentage BB, I along with many others would have done it the same, it just bit them in the rear this time.

  4. 3rd to 1st move is legal in HS baseball.   Not sure what rule book they were referring to.    If the umpire allows a coach to show him a rule in the rule book then he has no right to eject/restrict the coach.   Now if a coach pulls a rulebook out when questioning a call then he will be restricted for sure.......ejected could happen as well.   Bottom line....as an umpire I know the rule and I will tell the coach that.  No need to pull out the rule book.  If he cannot accept my confidence in knowing the rules then he might have issues.

The fact that the umpires called someone to find out the rule show lack of knowledge of the rules on their part.

Evidently you overlooked my response to your post with it all included in your quote so here it is again.>>I see what kind of ump you are LOL as many games I've been in and watched I seriously would question a LOT of them on their 'knowledge of the rules', if I was a high school coach and you disrespected my knowledge of the rules BY questioning yours you would be before the board and UIL and I'm not speaking of a judgement call AND >>>scratched from then on<<<..Also I'm betting your one that would NOT ask for help on a call IF asked to by a coach EVEN tho you were OUT OF POSISTION to make it.....

  6.  I always had my book in my pocket and knew which rule I was going to refer to, the book is a backup, Its NOT the umps thats required to show the coach the rule IS IT.....and I've had several talks with the umps....ask Dennis....How would you go about questioning OR the interpretation of a rule IF you didn't have your book UNLESS you don't own one....I guess you would sit and mash your nutza and let it go......I was always leary when a umpire had a book in his pocket tho, sure sign of a rookie....

  7. Actually the coach better have his book AND on the right rule when questioning Ump, it's NOT the Umps job to show the rule. IF the pitcher did NOT release the rubber >>>> WITH pivot foot<<< its a balk....IF he did he can throw to centerfield if he wants....he's considered a fielder and IF he throws the ball in a dead ball zone after releasing the runner gets 1+1 if he didn't release he just gets 1
