IT'S IN THE BONE reacted to Franchiseball in 23-3a let's hear it.
Richardson and Clark for Buna are having really good years. Freshmen Askew should get a look for Newcomer 3 wins and plays catcher rest of the time.

Ryder Lognion did a great job pitching...Buna played his style of pitching well. They crowded the plate and tried to take away his bender.  Ryder had to have great placement to be effective...I think he only gave up one hit.  Marshall came in the 7th and shut the door...once again that combination worked well together. Great game by Buna...Kreston Richardson scared me to death with a very well hit ball to right field that was tracked down by Hunter smart for the final out of the 6th inning, "clutch play"! if that ball got down than its most likely a tie game.  Joe Clark for Buna pitched a nice game for the Cougars as well...the freshman catcher for Buna, "Askew", did a good job behind the dish.  Not sure of the young man's name that came in to pitch in relief for the Cougars, but he showed alot of poise. Perry Smith...dang boy! you make fast look not so fast! Great game to be had by all...alot of fun to watch!

LED LIGHTS ARE WAY TO GO. Light weight so polls don't have to be as big...use under lighting so they don't have be near as tall and they pay for themselves because they only use 10% of the power traditional lighting uses.

In my book the better team last night won the game...could-a-should-a-would-a....and if the queen had a pair she would be the king. Guys errors are as much a part of the game as batting averages, RBI's, walks and K's. The better team is the one that gets the "w" and next time they meet that team may or may not be the better team. Yes sometimes one team can play flauless and loose a game to a team that has the ability to out score their mistakes, but my theory still holds true if the other team was better than that would not be possible. Just my humble not so important opinion.

I know alot of folks think playing year round is for the birds, but in todays day in time if you want a real shot at post high school play...college...you gotta put the time in playing. The day of College coaches going to high school games to see players is far and few between. Heck now days the College Coach talks to the summer ball coach more than the high school coach.  I was talking with a D-1 coach Monday and he was talking about how early they were having to begain dialog with potential players in order to have a shot at getting them on board. Bottom line I agree that a player does not have to run the roads to be an effective high school baseball player, but to get to the next level...thats a whole different story. Now before anyone says something, there is always the exception, but they are truely the exception.

Anytime you have a year where you win district with no senior starters the year before and you only lose your 3 hole/ace your going to be good. Young players get better. Last year their were 5 juniors and 3 sophomores and a freshman starting. All these players have more experience this year. Unfortunately I'm not in texas anymore so I can't just go watch these guys play, but I know they have matured and gotten Better

Now all Lumberton needs is a wild bond issue! Maybe the aforementioned board member needs to go coach the 7 on 7 this summer to quench that desire to be a coach!

School boards are there to make policy and oversee the financial security of the district. They are not there to run the day to day operations. They collectively hire a Superintendent and that man or woman then makes decisions deligated to them by district policy. When hireing a new Coach a list of applicants is gathered and then interviewed, the list is shortened and finally the Superintendent makes a request for action presenting his choice to the board...the board should be behind their man they picked to run the District and not attemp situational or micro-management.
