I am sure many in Dayton are waiting to see who will be on Nation's staff and in what capacity.

Give the guy time to settle in, folks! LOL!

Lol. Im not really worried about that because i am positive that nations will make all of the right decisions and have dayton playing for a district championship next year.

  2. Just trying to figure out why all of the negativity towards Coach Stewart. In all of my dealings with the man, he has always been a straight shooter. He is obviously a great coach and motivator. Why speculate on why he is retiring. Does it really matter if he is retiring to go to Arkansas to take care of his mother, maybe he is getting a Head Coaching job in the great state of Razorbacks. Or, does it matter if he wanted to be the head coach at Dayton again and the Board said no? Or, does it really matter if he has decided to sail off into the sunset?

thank you. It doesn't really matter why he is retiring, i mean hell when he retired as head coach he asked to stay on as part time ad so that should have told everyone then that he was going to be there much longer. No matter why he is retiring us dayton fans wish him the best in whatever he does and thank him for a great run as hc and ad. 20 straight years in the playoffs i think he did great.

  3. Dang, that's a nice way to put it. Good choice of synonyms from Dayton ISD, I guess they probably avoid some of the other inquiries when you put it like that. Dayton isn't big enough to need a separate AD from one of the head coaches anyway. Real question is does Hancock get the AD job or does Dayton move away from Stew's hand picked successor?

im pretty sure that hancock wasnt his first choice for head coach, it was in fact nations but when nations quit and started a new career the next option was hancock. As far as hancock being the ad i dont see that happening but you never know. Only thing to do is wait and see.

  4. Yeah, I was jumping back and fourth between threads. My mistake there but it still doesn't change the fact the I've not even seen Lumberton play and I can tell you they can't throw the football. They have about a 3-1 run/pass ratio but two running backs have about 90% of their rushing yards, meaning the qb probably isn't much of a run threat either. They look like they have a great pass defense, but that because they can't stop people from running the ball.

I could go on but it would sound like I'm "bashing" them or "overlooking" them, etc. Imagine what you already can tell going into it stratified with the ability to watch film.

We can even use an example Tex gave tonight on the preview show. He said that for the first time in a long time Dayton led the district in rushing, meaning that's what they've done most effectively this year. Against Crosby, Dayton had 36 attempts for 100 yards, or a 2.78ypc average. So what you're best at you couldn't do three times and pick up a first down on average. If Dayton could've hit their season rushing average against Crosby that game is a whole lot tighter than it even was.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just in my personal opinion i dont think stats say much when you dont have common opponents,  but after they play ned. Then you have one common opponent and that still doesn't say much because you played ned when they were first figuring things out. But with that said.

Worry about cek. First and then next week we will go get that sweep, hopefully 22-5a brings the shop vacs like they did last year. Lol.

Stats don't dont do anything other than highlight tendencies, allow you to key on specific players and develop you game plan. What metric do you use to compare teams other than wins and losses which can be summed up as SO MANY games are on here with, "Two good teams, should be a good one"? That provides 0 substance other than to say "should be a good one".

How have we played a completely different schedule, we've both played every team in the district except each other? This isn't week 3. Crosby has lost one regular season game in two years and it was to King. You can bet the farm the focus is ultra-sharp this week.

you played two completely different schedules because this thread is about crosby vs. Lumberton not cek.

I simply asked what the stats had to do with it bbecause of the fact that these two teams have infact played totally different schedules so stats doesnt tell you anything because you dont know what their competition had. Crosby and Lumberton have not played any of the same teams yet.

And just so you know i do look at the stats but not if the teams have 0 common opponents.

  6. Not trying to be a smart butt, but what does stats have to do with anything, these two teams have played a completely different schedule. The playoffs change teams. When the playoffs start you can leave all the stats at home.

My honest opinion is that crosby will go into this game thinking it is an easy win and will be down at half time by 3 points. But will have a change of thought in the second half and will win by 10.

If crosby isnt looking past Lumberton they will win by 14+
