  1. There is no way that United with the athletes they have should be this bad. Heard a lot of talk from coach in the preseason that sounded good but not transitioning to the field for the Wolves. Too large a school and too much talent to only be successful in one mens sport (basketball) for the wolves. Hopefully they pull out another win or two to at least be respectable. Speaking of respectable, do something to fix baseball there while you are at it. As bad as football is this year, it still isn’t as hard to watch as the baseball. Go Wolves Football and remember you are still playing better than West Brook at this time.

  2. Without a doubt , the Titans were too much athlete for the Sterling Rangers. However , it should be noted that the Ranger defensive line got much more penetration than usual and the linebackers played possessed. They shut the Titan run game down so great job LB’s. In the end , the Titans had too much athleticism and speed and they picked on the Sterling secondary all night. Good win for Port Arthur. Sterling needs an offense.

  3. Defense must do better no doubt. The Sterling Rangers’ defensive line got bullied real good against. Brazoswood and must do better against BH if they want a chance to win. However, the Rangers have good athletes at linebacker and corners that will hit. Sterling has two great linebacker coaches one that coaches inside and the other one does outside backers. That unit feeds off each other. Regardless of last week’s score, the LBs are the soul of that team and will need to show up big time as well as the rest of the team to have a chance against a very talented and well coached Eagle football team.

  4. Actually, in the year 2000, Brandon Morgan, catcher at Orangefield, was the Orange Leader MVP. Josey Kelley was Pitcher of the Year. Brandon is the nephew of 1974 Orange Leader MVP Paul Richardson. There is a long line of baseball success in that family. Paul Richardson was one of the first power pitchers in Orange with that big 90+ fastball and went on to pitch for McNeese. Brandon was a career .442 hitter at Orangefield and district home run leader with a 70% throwout of base stealers. He was the 1999 Orange Leader Newcomer of the Year and 2000 Orange Leader MVP. He committed to San Jac before his dad fell ill, and Brandon stayed home to be with him. There is also another member in this family, Chuck Richardson who pitched in West Orange. Chuck led West Orange to several victories pitching under legendary coach Ronnie Anderson. Chuck also played at McNeese. Congratulations to all MVPs. Lots of history in Orange County baseball.
