  1. The last time I remember Nederland having a defense Bulldog fans were high on they came to Crosby and give up 56, lost by 21. Gave up less than 10ppg in district play that year. That's irrelevant now but I would point out that in order for Crosby to score 55 on this version of Nederland they only have to be 20 points better than BH who we've already beaten by 27. I don't think Crosby will get 55 either but it's not because of your defensive stops, it's because Nederland will play at a slow pace to try to keep the ball away from Crosby's offense.
  2. Doesn’t suck but Ned has given up 18.2ppg during district play to Crosby’s 7.3ppg. Definitely the two best defenses in the district and the main reason the teams are playing for the district championship.
  3. If FB Marshall only scores 70 on PNG it will be because it’s halftime. As long as FBM doesn’t want PNG to score, they won’t. Hard to see how anybody beats FBM until they play an Aledo or Ennis in the title game. They’re know for being pretty much the fastest team in 5A annually, I’ve never seen one of their teams with as much overall speed as their current one.
  4. The last opportunity Crosby had to finish as undefeated district champions was 2017. We were 9-0 and heavily favored and lost at home to New Caney 63-38. More impactful part was that loss dropping us into the D2 #2 seed which set up the 72-69 loss to PNG in bi-district. Nederland always matches up well with Crosby. They usually have just enough personnel wise and play at that slower pace that seems to complicate things for the Cougars. Crosby has been the best team in 12-5A-D2 all year and has a chance to finish off their most impressive run through district play that I can remember. Ned is trying to prove they’re the best team in the district at the end of the year. This is exactly where both teams were hoping to be when the season started.
  5. Crosby has been ranked in the top 5 in the state at some point in the season 3 times over the past five years, ‘15, ‘17 and ‘18. May have gotten to #2 all three years. I’ve never felt we were really worthy of those rankings except ‘18 before Howard tore his ACL. I felt good about Crosby being #10 to start the season and I feel even better about it now based on how the season has played out.
  6. I know they’re undefeated but I’m not sure this team is necessary their best in recent years? That win over Vandy is very nice but this is one of the weaker schedules you’ll see Cedar Park play. I’m a believer in your matchup theory and lately Cedar Park has been struggling with the Alvin ISD teams. Manvel in the trenches still isn’t close to where it was prior to SC opening but this is the closest I’ve seen them at the skill positions since then. They can control the pace of the game with those two rbs and they have a free agent qb transfer from Louisiana that looks just as good as Kyron Drones does over at SC. I think he’s the real key to why they’re so good this year. Cedar Park and Foster are very similar where they’re big and physical compared to the rest of the class and play a grind you down style football. Cedar Park may be significantly better than Foster but think about how much better than the previously undefeated 5th ranked team in the state they have to be to cover that nearly 40 point delta? CP may be that good but they’re going to have to matchup with a lot better version of Manvel than the teams they’ve lost to lately. I got Hoka Hey. *Manvel usually plays North Shore pretty well. Imagine how good NS is this year to beat them by 35? Probably could’ve been close to 50 had NS wanted it to be.
  7. True, I was thinking head to head for the third spot since BH would get 2nd in point differential. I see it’s point differential 2-4. Puts even more emphasis on our 4th place team beating their third.
  8. Crosby went to the semifinals in ‘14. The ‘13 team lost in the second round to Elgin by like 30. Great offense but that team’s defense was borderline awful. In the bi-district game you’re taking about I want to say Crosby was up 42-14 after Walter scored early in the 4th quarter and was pulled. In ‘14 Crosby had probably had the best defense in the entire region, gave up 19ppg with 10 playoff teams on the schedule. Offense was very average for a Crosby team. Kind of negates your whole post. To one of your points though, you’re right about Crosby still rebuilding. Have to give credit to the second year coach who is in prime position to win his first undefeated district championship and run off 10 consecutive victories for only the 2nd time in school history. Not to mention he’s winning this year’s district games by an average of 30+
  9. I hear you but if you take the hypotheticals out of it, against the actual common opponents this season PAM has an average margin of victory 5ppg to Crosby's 33.5ppg. Not to mention PNG will most likely finish 3rd over here and has already beaten the 3rd place team from your district. Crosby was up 21-0 on Dayton at the half and just went through the motions in the second half. I don't think Prieto was trying to embarrass a first year coach at a struggling program? That being said, that 24-0 win over "the worst team by far" is actually Crosby's closest district game to date. I think another good indicator is PAM's average margin of victory being 17ppg in district play to Crosby's 33ppg in a tougher district.
  10. The algorithms Maxpreps uses to rank teams has PAM’s strength of schedule at only about half of Crosby’s. I would imagine that’s why they rank us in front of y’all even though you’re undefeated? There’s going to be a drastic difference in the teams Paetow has played in district for preparation come playoffs vs PAM who’s playing out of a district where two Baytown schools make the playoffs.
  11. Crosby has beaten or would beat PNG, BH and GCM by at least 4tds but somehow PAM hasn’t beaten any of them by more than one score? PAM’s most impressive win to date is a 20 point win over 2nd place Lee who went 4-10 in our district last alignment. There’s no value in even talking about hypotheticals being in two different divisions but I do think this version of Crosby would beat the current version of PAM by 20+, something like 42-21. I think Hightower is going to beat Paetow and y’all will struggle with Paetow in bi-district. Everyone else in the district will probably lose by at least 20. Congrats to your team on a great season though. Manvel just beat #5 Foster worse than they did Crosby so I don’t think there’s any hope of getting past them but good luck on a deep playoff run too👍🏾
  12. So PNG lost to Crosby by 40 after beating BU but BU would give Crosby trouble. I’m guessing matchups or improvement since the loss to Lee who had to opt up to y’all’s district to even make the playoffs?
  13. As much as I want to call flat out bs on this post I will say that the 24-0 game with Dayton has been our closest so far in district play. Probably would’ve been even closer had he stayed. I still think PAM is the only team that could’ve made the playoffs in 12-5A-D2 from your district though.
  14. Do you make that same argument in basketball? Crosby would probably beat United by the same 40 we just beat PNG by in football. Crosby is/will be very good in basketball this year because of our talent level relative to the classification, we’ll still get mauled by United though. In football BU has the same raw talent level as FB Marshall, why do you need baby steps there?
  15. Lee was 4-10 in our district during the last alignment. They went 2-5 both years. Even with a lot of improvement they would’ve been 4-3 and finished 5th this year. You’ll see what I’m saying when y’all line up with 10-5A
  16. Alright, but you’re making a huge assumption that we beat Santa Fe.
  17. Smh, Beaumont United is such an enigma. Congrats to those kids at Lee, who knew moving up a division would increase their playoff prospects? Maybe the GCCISD administration did?
  18. Can’t say I’m surprised by this one even though I figured BH would win by double digits. I still think BH is the second best team in the district but like Parcells used to say, “You are what your record says you are.” BH was at home with everything on the line from home field advantage in bi-district to a possible share of the DC if Crosby lost to Ned and they produce another stale one? Looks like Crosby and Ned control their own destinies and BH becomes Crosby’s biggest fan.
  19. As much as I would’ve loved Crosby to hold PNG under the 7.5ppg we were giving up since the start of district play, PNG did actually score another td albeit against mostly twos. Does someone mind changing the score to 54-14? Crosby only won by 40, not 47. Plus that receiver needs credit for his td, kid was one of the few PNG players I can point out that I would say played hard all night.
  20. Well, they were down 40 to the boys so Coach P has put the girls in.
  21. I mean, the score is what it is but Crosby still needs to play better on the offensive side of the ball. I will say it is very nice to see this type of team performance despite not being as sharp as we should.
  22. Lol, last year was the least regular season wins Crosby has had in a season since 2010 and you still didn’t win. That’s after going to double OT because our coach didn’t kneel the ball in regulation and end the game. Unless the qb tears his ACL or you have another Deshawn Washington y’all lose to Crosby every time. Don’t worry though, we’re waiting outside the room while BH takes their turn this week.
  23. If Crosby receivers would’ve just caught the open passes they dropped against BH they would’ve scored at least 14 more points. It was a good win but still somewhat disappointing to see that many plays and points left on the field.
  24. I’m sure I haven’t seen as much Nederland football as you but I would think those teams from ‘11-‘14 were their “above average” teams? Talent doesn’t always dictate victory margins or even wins for that matter but this is definitely the widest talent gap I’ve seen between Crosby and the mid-county schools. If your current team is what you’re calling above average now, I suspect you’re just waiting to drop down to 4A. I’ve said it on here for a while but I think you’re starting to see stagnant enrollments like PNG and Ned have a harder go of it than growing schools like Crosby and BH, that’s all thing being relatively equal of course.
