  1. I saw them, they’re impressive against 4A squads. It’s different when those d-linemen have to chase a QB that can embarrass them and those DBs have to check some of the fastest 5A players in the state. Not overly concerned about what you bring back and if the linebacker you’re talking about is Kip Lewis he’s not even close to a 5 star. Crosby dropped 62 on Texas High who had two 4 star line backers, one of which was actually almost a 5 star. Clayton Smith finished #38 overall and three spots out of 5 star designation, Lewis is #259 overall and 228 spots out of 5 star designation.
  2. I mean, the question is if Barbers Hill can beat a 6A squad from Katy ISD with a new coach and no offseason? Probably not even in normal years but it’s going to be an even tougher task this year. I was just looking at some highlights from KP’s starting running back in their scrimmage with Cy-Springs and they were making it look pretty easy out there. Cy-Springs is the worst team in Cy-Fair ISD though. Idk how good their receivers are but their qb from last year is back and that o-line looks huge outside of the center. RB looks pretty big too. BH probably has the most experienced QB in the district but I think all four kids in the secondary for Paetow have D1 offers? Passing game is going to be pretty much negated. I see they have a d-linemen that has a couple offers also. Their defense is why I made the comment about challenging for the region. Might as well play them now, BH will be playing teams like them next year involuntarily.
  3. And if we kick y'alls teeth in, then what? We go to Manvel the next week and they laugh saying, "You thought those guys would get you ready for us?" Y'all would rather lose to Crosby instead of PG too, right? Pretty elementary logic there.
  4. I think he could get some run later in the year, especially if we start blowing people out. Pass pro is always brutal for the young backs though and usually keeps them off the field early. If we were forced to play him I think he could be effective right now as a freshman though. I think the first ones to contribute from that freshman class are probably going to be Windfont and whoever that other kid was coming off the edge that they moved up to scrimmage with varsity. Windfont would probably already be out there if our edge guys weren't 6-3/220. Not sure he's big enough/experienced enough to play in the middle yet.
  5. That's because there's really no value for the larger team playing down. If Crosby beats Carthage the narrative will be, "They're the bigger school, they're supposed to win". Carthage wins it will be, "I told y'all we could play with teams in 5A". How at all does that benefit Crosby? I'd much rather play a George Ranch type opponent like we did in the opener last year. I'm sure the Longview, Lone Star, Ennis and Highland Parks of the world would love to beat Carthage's head in on a regular basis but there's absolutely zero value in it.
  6. Ah, got you. So in your mind 4 loss Kilgore, 4 loss Center, 4 loss PG, 4 loss Wimberly, 3 loss China Spring, 2 loss Jasper and 2 loss Salado was tougher than one loss Manvel, FB Marshall, Huntsville, Texas High, Liberty Hill and Aledo? Four of which lost their one game to Crosby. Also, Kilgore, Center, China Springs and Wimberly were not ranked when y'all played them. I don't see where they were ranked at all during the season, but they definitely weren't when they played Carthage. Only teams that were ranked when y'all played them were #5 PG, #3 & #5 Gilmer, #4 Jasper and #6 Salado.
  7. I'm stating facts everyone on here except you seems to understand. You're losing it bro. Go lay down. You're starting to use the same type of logic my wife does.
  8. Yeah, looks like he did transfer back. I think the other shorter back you're talking about is DQ James who signed Wyoming. He was actually the backup before Broadway got hurt but ran for over 1,400 yards and had a crazy 17ypc average. They have another transfer back from Mississippi I didn't think was going to really play but it looks like he'll be the man now. Kid is almost a replica of Broadway and should have double digit D1 offers after this year but IMO he's a significant dropoff from Bradford, Broadway and James. Crazy how many transfers that area of Cedar Hill, Desoto, Duncanville and Lancaster get between football and basketball.
  9. Smh, BH destroyed Galena Park in the first round. Maxpreps shows it 51-14, not a forfeit. You must be mixing that up with Carthage's first round game which was a forfeit. The rankings I listed was their ranking at the times we played them. Manvel, Texas High, Huntsville, FB Marshall and Liberty Hill were all undefeated at the time we played them. Aledo had a loss to Cedar Hill but was still ranked #2 when we played them in the title game. That's six ranked teams, one of them being a class above us. I'm looking at it as what they were ranked when we played them, otherwise I would be throwing BH in there who was ranked at #9 at one point last year. I only see four teams that finished the season ranked in the top 10 on Carthage's schedule, #3 - #6.
  10. No need to waste your time using logic to explain anything to him. We all know North Shore would kill everybody around here, that's why they have three 6A-D1 titles the last six years. For whatever reason he gets butt hurt when you talk about BH.
  11. Again, for whatever reason I'm living in your head. Only and idiot wouldn't know why I didn't need to say BU would be killed my North Shore: 2018 - Beaumont United 0 North Shore 63 2019 - Beaumont United 14 North Shore 42
  12. Dave Campbell’s
  13. George Ranch finished second in their 6A district behind Ridge Point and most likely would’ve advanced were they not forced to forfeit. Montgomery lost in the 2nd round. Manvel lost in the 4th round. Barbers Hill lost in the 2nd round and Nederland lost in the 3rd. That’s half our regular season schedule, wth are you talking about? Not to mention beat the #5, #4, #3, and #7 ranked teams in 5A-D2 who were all undefeated when we played them.
  14. Last year’s offense only averaged 41.3ppg and about 435ypg. I say “only” because we’ve had offenses that have averaged over 50ppg and 500+ypg. Our ‘20 offense was pretty dynamic but purely in statistical terms this year’s team is more than capable of exceeding it. All six skill starters for Crosby are listed at 6ft or taller except one, and he may have had the best scrimmage of all the receivers. Two of the receivers are 4.4 kids and one was on the state championship 4x100 team this past Spring. What I couldn’t tell was if our offensive line is really as good as they looked or if Angleton was a little lost up front?
  15. Y’all gave up 109 points and only actually played 13, not exactly apples to apples with Crosby playing 16 physical games. Yes Carthage’s defense was better in 4A-D2 than Crosby’s was in 5A-D2 though. I’ve only seen one “new” face on offense. The other new starters are just the backups from last year. QB, RB and receivers got plenty of playing time in blowouts last year.
  16. Yep that’s 26.5 a game with #2 Aledo, #3 FB Marshall, #4 Huntsville, #5 Texas High, #7 Liberty Hill and 5A-D1 #2 Manvel on the schedule. You think Salado and Wimberly are on par with those teams?
  17. Ok. Aledo held Crosby to their lowest point total of the season. I don’t think Carthage’s defense will be as good as Aledo’s, plus I think this Crosby offense will be better than the one Aledo held to 21 last year. Above was my justification in the original post I was responding to which was about Crosby being held to 14 points. It is a little misleading because I actually think Huntsville had the best defense we faced with those Bobino brothers but the point still remains in regards to how I view Aledo’s defense vs Carthage’s.
  18. Which scores? You think Carthage has personnel like Manvel, FB Marshall or Aledo, and y’all lost to Liberty Hill last time y’all played them so I know that’s not who you’re talking about?
  19. Spread would’ve been the same either way, that was obvious by halftime. Even if Crosby would’ve made the plays we had been all playoffs and scored a couple more tds Aledo would’ve just gotten 70 and we would’ve still lost by 35. I thought the punter taking off on 4th and long killed is more than anything, had to play perfect and that was a backbreaker.
  20. Nah, still would’ve been Cedar Park who lost by 45. We’re not head and shoulders above anybody, that’s why we’re ranked #12 even after a finals appearance. Don’t tell me you’re one of the ones that when the facts are pointed out you go immediately to the “You act like Crosby are world beaters” comments🤦🏾‍♂️
  21. I see it was Lindale y'all scrimmaged. Yeah, Marshall isn't very good right now. They got 5th place in a district where their champion was down 62-28 when Crosby got off the gas. Nederland mauled 2nd place Pine Tree too. Even two years ago when Marshall won the district at 7-0 they still got stomped by Huntsville in the first round. I would be ducking people if I was them too, no need to be taking useless L's.
  22. My bad, it was Lindale they scrimmaged. I was reading something a Marshall poster was writing on the thread. Lindale got stomped by Argyle in the 4A-D1 title game last year. Thread says Carthage beat them 20-7 in two live quarters.
  23. Manvel scored 56 offensive points on only 39 plays last year in the bi-district game. They were up 49-0 after three quarters so I assume a lot of those plays in the 4th quarter were clock killing runs. I'm not saying Westbrook is as good as Manvel but unless BU has gotten drastically better I expect something like 52-17.
  24. It wasn't meant to highlight who scored what against Aledo. It was meant to show that it took the 5A-D2 state champion to hold Crosby to its lowest point total of the season. Using that logic I don't see the 4A-D2 state champion holding an even better team to less points.
  25. Nederland enrollment last 4 realignments: 2014 - 1,625 2016 - 1,596 2018 - 1,546 2020 - 1,451 Nederland's enrollment used to be 600+ kids over the 4A cutoff line. This last alignment cycle they were only 215 kids over the 4A cutoff. You're not in the middle of 5A anymore. They're about to be even closer to the cutoff come October. There may be some new housing additions but they aren't helping your enrollment. Ned has lost about 100 kids per cycle to the cutoff the last four realignments. Like you said, Ned's numbers are "steady or slightly decreasing" while the suburbs around the state are exploding. See Lamar Randle, Grand Oaks, Shadow Creek, Katy Paetow, Katy Jordan and Cypress Bridgeland who all just recently opened or will open this year with 5A/6A numbers in the Houston area. Cy-Fair already has plans for another school and it's only a matter of time until Humble ISD builds another one to relieve their overcrowding. In 2014 Nederland had over 100 more kids than Crosby, after this alignment Crosby will probably have over 500 more kids than Nederland and be about 700 kids over the 4A cutoff. 4A-D1 in an inevitability for Nederland considering their stagnant growth levels. That's no knock, it just it what it is. Nothing wrong with dropping down to where your enrollment allows you to, I'm actually hoping Crosby somehow comes in under the D1 cutoff.
