  1. EC will wake up the echoes and win one for all the past great athletes.
  2. It will mean a lot if the Dogs pull it off. It's hard to say what's going to happen. It will depend on if they have a good week of practice. We will see if these kids bounce back. Big Ned squeeks by with a win.
  3. I wouldn’t say he’s weak. Early development stage is more accurate. He’s got to protect the ball. I was at the game as well. Well till halftime. Going for it on fourth and short on our side of the field, is kinda of a chance Monty has to take. Not wrong or right. With this team he’s desperately trying to find the right buttons.
  4. Turnovers killed any inkling of offensive movement.
  5. Nederland definitely regressed this week. Dayton came prepared and executed. They looked like a varsity verses a JV. In many ways that’s true. But that’s the way it’s going to be this season. The dogs will have spurts here and there, but it will be a long year. Great game Dayton. You look like the Dayton of old.
  6. Should be a good game. If the Broncos have a good passing game it may be sayonara for the dogs. If Nederland has a good week of practice and continues to get better in all phases then they will be undefeated in district play. Hoping Sunday has a good Friday.
  7. Big game for the Dogs. A lot of mistakes still, but they overcame a little adversity in the first half. That's what I liked. Willowridge made some big mistakes as well. It wasn't all that pretty of a game. Having a strong running game will help that light passing game develop. Work needs to done on the secondary. The guys in the trenches (on both sides) looked good. They should be prepared for Dayton.
  8. He may be the best coach / player in Texas. COACH; (4) 5A State Championships, USA Today Coach of the Year, In the Hall of Fame PLAYER; Most passing yds in a season, First to pass 3000 yds, Most career completions 382, Most completions in a year, 2nd most career passing yds, Had the most passing yds in a game & season at UT, Lead TJ to a State Runner Up
  9. This is a big game. A "W" will mean so much for these young guys. A "L" would mean 0-4 start. When is the last time Big Ned went 0-4?
  10. In the middle of a football season?
  11. This only hurts the kids. Something bad must have happen to warrant this.
  12. I wouldn’t worry at all about WOS players. Coaching staff has some issues. PNG played a great game and the Stangs stumbled. Big Deal! A&M looses to Appalachian St. longhorns almost beat Alabama. On any given day…
  13. Watched the end of the 2 quarter on. It was hard to watch. Monty was doing everything he can with what he got. Chemistry started at the end of the game. Sunday was connecting and the test fighting hard. He is the QB. Silsbee is an outstanding team they should have blown Ned out early on. They got lucky at the end of the game because Ned had the momentum.
  14. Let's reevaluate Nederland after the Silsbee game. I think the dogs will continue to get better.
  15. Sophomores are chomping at the bit. They played no game against WOS. They played a half a game against PAM. They will play (I hope) a full game against SHS. Soph's win first game.
  16. I was actually fine with the game last night. 7 INT'S, not sure about that. I don't know what Monty sees in this kid (QB). Looks like a QB, throws good. He sees something in this kid. Tough Memorial team we played. The Silsbee game will be another test. Go Sophomores.
  17. Bulldogs seam to have play better in the second quarter of the WOS game. That fumble at the goal line hurt bad. Bulldogs will hopefully make the right moves this week. They will get beat though, but it won't be to bad. They will need to be spotted 2 TD's. Go Sophomores.
  18. At Winnie, I'll have to give the home team the very small edge.
  19. Staying focused on the first game will be key. If the sophomores are up to the challenge then it will be a good game. If not it will be a long night for the dogs. 2016 (I think) all over again Good luck to both teams.
  20. I'm glad the sky isn't falling. Coaches will continue to squeeze what they can out of these kids. They always do. Geaux Dogs.
  21. Growing up he was one my heroes. Right along side EC great Glen Gaspard.
  22. I saw that Meeks past away a few years ago. He was known for turning around programs and helping other coaches even when he was about to play them. In the East Texas Hall of Fame.
