I've said all along that Bport plays Silsbee's style, not nearly as well. I would be surprised if it was a close game. They aren't nearly as athletic as Yates even. The semifinal game today will be Silsbee's greatest test imo.

I was at this game, stayed and watched it after the Bush/Dawson game. Didn't see Saturday's game hit heard Nguyen had 21 points, most if not all in the 1h against Bush.

This is the toughest matchup for Silsbee imo. I think Brazosport's style could play into Silsbee's hands. This is the game that scares me, if you can say any of them do.

Finals have been on tv last few years, semis streamed on computer.

And let's not forget Newton would have already been the starting PG on 90 percent of the teams in the state. Which goes back to the ridiculous depth Silsbee has. For a school their size, no one would believe it until they see it.

Regardless of offers, Devon was the best player on that team. He did not play last summer and that's where you get your offers, not during the HS season. But Jordyn is right there and so is Bush IMO. I also believe the main place it hurts them is defensively. For instance, even though he is a PG, I believe Sig would have matched up Devon with 6'7" Seriale if they play Yates. I've seen him before generally have him on the other teams best player, regardless of position.

What time will the regional final game be in Huntsville? I'm going to see Bush/Dawson on Friday but hoping to catch Silsbee/Yates on Saturday (assuming we get chalk in Friday's games of course).

That is no joke. There are more than 2 teams that could easily make it out of that region. Not a lot separating them all IMO

Herman is hosting a Texas High School Coaches Association Clinic the same day as aggy spring game. Keynote speaker? Bill Belichick. Herman is a genius... Well, we knew he was due to mensa but I mean he's really a genius...

They have what they need coming in: Matt Coleman, a PG from Oak Hill who came down to Texas or Duke. This is basketball, so Shaka's leash will be longer than Charlie's. And Shaka can coach...and recruit. He's going to be fine. I'm not trying to compare him to Coach K, but after going 17-13 in his first year at Duke, he went 10-17 and 11-17 in years 2 and 3. Sometimes it's about getting your guys in and getting your footing. There are 3-5 schools who can get the number of 1 and dones in to compete. Texas isn't one of them at this point obviously. Shaka will be given a fair amount of time and I'm willing to bet anyone he has a successful career at Texas.

Brazosport does not have the depth or horses to hang with Silsbee...they just don't.

I predicted no more than 3 losses in 5 years, this being year 3. Even if the double forfeit counts as a loss, I stand by the prediction.

Spent the evening at Ford Park watching a couple of baseball games with Javorskie Lane. His son plays on a team my college roommate coaches out of Kingwood. Super good guy. Thinks the Herman hire was a home run for Texas.
