1. I am a graduate of Silsbee High and this is my second game I have attended this season of Silsbee Tigers. I was far more impressed last night by the tigers compared to their homecoming game. Jeremy played a tremendous game, no doubt he one of the best athlete in 3A. Silsbee offense was explosive from the beginning to the end of the game. Their defense played a great game! Only problem I seen that needs to be worked on is needing to limit the turnovers and the secondary need some work but I know that they will get the job done
  2. I haven't attended many high school games this year but I will say that from reading all the post of this season and looking at team and individual stats. Silsbee has high-power offense that can't easily be stopped. Their defense is on point! Huffman, I know nothing of. But I have seen them playoff against Silsbee last year. But Silsbee has gotten a better offense this season and their defense is more fast than last season. I see SIlsbee takeing this game by 10+ points.

goodness what has the world come too  ;)
No kidding. WO-S has several starters out, should be a good game with WOS winning.
At this time of the season nearly ALL TEAMS have some starters out.

I agree. Silsbee is missing 5 starters themselves.

What starters are missing from Silsbee?
  4. It been a while since I posted something on here. I went to my first silsbee game of the year last week for homecoming. I have to say that Silsbee wasn't really into it this game because I spoken to a few of the players and I was informed of this. They weren't playing their best as I know they can. But this is not to bash any players from BC because y'all put up a good game from that I seen. Now O-Field on the other hand, I heard a lot on this site about them. How they played well agaisnt Newton scoring up to 40-something point and being the most improved team in the S.E Texas. I really think O-Field could make this game interesting if they really are into this game. Now, it really depend on what Silsbee team shows up and I'm hoping it the one that really stopped WO-S pretty good. Since it is at O-Field that got some advantage their playing at their place, but let be honest. Playing at your opponent home turd, does it really make a difference??? I think not. But as long as Silsbee defense shows up and thier offense is doing thier job I can see silsbee taking this game by at least 2 touchdown.

  5. That is a great addition to Silsbee Tiger Basketball team. I still put a ? mark on the point guard spot. It seem over the summer league basketball ball, they were trying out different players for the spot. Lane, Hill and a sophomore name Gaines were trying it out. Hill got the experience and the leadership for the spot. That's my pick on who will most likely get it. But the sophomore Gaines should get plenty of playing time from what I am told. The Tigers are not losing much only the leadership and shooters from last year team but they can use the advatage of thier heights and speed they will have on this year upcoming 09-10 season to overcome to the three point shooting.

  6. How The Beaumont Enterprise ranks the top five high school football teams in Southeast Texas (with 2008 records):

    1. West Orange-Stark (12-1)

The District 21-3A school has two Oklahoma-bound players in Trey Franks and James Haynes. Both play wide receiver and defensive back.

    2. Vidor (5-4)

Vidor returns 18 starters and has an offensive line that averages 280 pounds. The big boys up front should allow the running game to be successful.

    3. West Brook (7-2)

The junior-heavy Bruins return 22 lettermen. Coach Craig Stump calls this season's team the most athletic he's had in five years at the school.

    4. Lumberton (8-2)

The two-time defending District 20-4A champs will look for three this year as it returns 11 starters, including standout linebacker Anthony Beard

    5. Silsbee (6-5)

A play away from beating WO-S last season, Silsbee returns West Virginia University-bound quarterback Jeremy Johnson.

  7. After seeing this scrimmage, which benefited all 3-teams, my observations are this:

Kirbyville is very good on both sides of the ball, very fast, well coached. kirbyville will go far this year. note: the nose guard for kirbyville #46 ran wild all afternoon several qb pressures and tackles for loses.

silsbee will be as good as jeremy johnson is, they will make the playoff's and do well as long as johnson stays healthy. fast defense that hustles and runs to the ball very well #15 is a manchild on defense for the tigers.

Deweyville suprised me with their enthusiasm and hustle, I like the new offense it plays well to their strengths which is ball control and having a 265 lb fullback helps tremendously in that area. the defense needs work in the secondary which was missing 1 starter however it benefited the Pirates to see the team speeds of kirbyville and silsbee.

    Yeah he is!!!!!

    Who are you referring to?

  8. the best player in southeasttexas is nothin without a half-descent offensive line . silsbee stands no chance in district.

You have got to be kidding me! Have you been to any of Silsbee practices? No! Are you a resident of silsbee? No! Do you know what silsbee football team have this year other than their QB that you hear about? No! Don't say nothing if you don't know anything.

I went to Silsbee football practice this evening and it was the first time I seen them in pad this season. I have to say that I was far more impressed than I thought I would be. Everyone knows that Silsbee has one of the best athlete in the area out of Jeremy Johnson. With a QB like him, he makes the players around him play far better football. Silsbee's reciever has some great catchers. There is one reciever that could be best quiet athlete in the area (Don't ask for no name until after the first scrimmage). The RB slot is loaded with two great running back. Starting RB, Chris Barnes back in his 3 season as a starter will be looking to have a breakout year and hopefully do more damage than the past season, back up running back Rakheem Bolton will be a force, he plays running back with a linebacker mentality, he will go hard at any defender who comes at him. I predict he will get plenty of playing time along with barnes at the running back helm. The offensive line is a question mark in my opinion but they are coming together. They have the size, but I need to see if they're mentally strong to handle the varsity level. The defense is looking fast!!! One of the fastest defense I seen for Silsbee in some odd years. They will have one of the best linebacker position in the area. With Bolton at the helm along with Jacob Keefer, and Caleb. Bolton will be a stud on defense, will be the leading tackler all season. The Leroy Simmons will be back on the line also at defensive end, he had a breakout season last year, along with him on the line will be Craig Porter and Todd McKee. McKee was originally the linebacker last year, but with the speed and toughness he has, coaches believed he could rush the opposing QB and RB this season on the line. The secondary seem to be will have much speed to produce this season. They are inexperience with only have 3 back with any experience. Kelson McDaniel, Jarrion Rhone and Trey Singleton will be in the backfield getting picks after picks. The backfield speed is unbelievable even with the second string. This team can only get better. I want you to keep an eye on Rakheem Bolton because his name will be on this forum in the Silsbee topics all season long.

  9. I just hope Silsbee wins this game after losing to them in the last few minutes last year. I'll have my eye on our offensive line and see how they are coming together. Everything else should be OK. Go Tigers!!!

We cannot give up another 38 points to this team. when you put up 34 points you should win.

I can guarantee u that it won't happen again...I'm not trying to sound cocky but I believe that Silsbee defense will be superior in stopping anybody that tries to get into thier opposing team endzone.
