Give 'em hell WOS!
-
Gilmer's Kris Boyd is suppose to be a standout that the aggies are heavily favorited to get in the recruiting trail. Im curious to see what this kid has to offer my Aggs.
I have seen him play several times over the last 3 years and he is the real deal. 6'1"-180 with elite speed. He'll probably be a DB in college, but could just as easily be a RB or WR. -
Would you say that Gilmer is likely much better than Waskom?
Oh yeah. -
How does Waskom compare with Gilmer?
They run fast. That's about the only similarity. -
One example I have seen is Lynch, Gilmer's D1 Baylor recruit was the QB for Troup last year and transferred in over the summer.
Their QB Carter moved away for a year and played for Salado last season.... moved back late last year.
-
And why is this the toughest district?
I didn't say that it was. -
Who's in Gladewater's district?
Atlanta, Tatum, Center, Pleasant Grove, Spring Hill.

I agree with everything you have said kilgoreaggie!!! Tatum and daingerfield were irrelevant this year really! The glade water game is their best win of the season and they could have very well lost! WOS will match up better than anyone else has! I believe our offense will put up points as well! Should be a good game!
Look back at 2012, Gilmer cruised through the playoffs without breaking a sweat. Then they ran into a fast, mean Navasota defense that totally shut them down. 3 pts. I think WOS has that same type of defense. -

LG was beaten teams like..Giddings,La Vernia,Liberty Hill..who r no whr near the talent level of tatum, gladewater,Daingerfield
Tatum was not very good. Daingerfield went 1-9. Gladewater was very good, gave up a go-ahead TD to Gilmer with 0:09 left in the game. -
WOS can beat Gilmer.

Not real suprised. We played Nac in week 1 and I could tell pretty quick that he had some anger issues. I believe he transferred in to Nac this year from one of the San Antonio schools.

Thank you, Kilgore
No prob. -
Chris,
Do you know of any good places to eat in Lufkin?
We are headed there as well. I've been through Lufkin, but have never stopped.

Thanks for the information. As is the case on the smoaky.com board that covers your district and isn't familiar with Jasper, the same can be said regarding Kilgore on this board. I know that no one on either side is taking this game lightly and it really could go either way. To me, whoever defends better will win. Most of the points Jasper has given up in district play were in garbage time when the games were already out of hand. When it matters, they have been really solid. This is going to be a great game.
We're pretty good defensively...... especially against the run. D-line has good size and quickness, linebackers are very good, secondary tackles well, but not great at covering the deep ball. Linebacker (#43) Haynes will be one of the most impressive players you'll have seen this year.
Offensively, we run the football and play-action pass. We're working with our 3rd string QB, but he's getting better every week..... good legs, big arm. We have a D-1 RB in Justice, and another very good one in Smith. We also have a couple of 6'3" WR's in Orange and Wallace and 6'3" TE in Wood.
Kicker is good, punter is good, coverage teams are very good. -
Jasper's playing as well as anybody right now, but I think Kilgore is better than their 4-6 record indicates. They beat Henderson last night and four of their losses were by a touchdown or less. There are posters on smoaky.com that expect 9-4A to sweep 10-4A because that district is so strong, but I think Jasper should win this one. It scares me though. I'll go with a 28-20 type of game. Thoughts?
4-6 is a bit misleading.
Our 1st loss (27-25) was to Nacogdoches on a 32 yd FG as time expired. Nac is a big 5A school with several D-1 players that finished 7-3 and is playoff bound.
Our 2nd loss (51-50) was to CC-Flour Bluff who is also a large 5A school. Flour Bluff finished 10-0 and is ranked #6 in 5A.
3rd loss was to Texas High (big 5A). They beat us 19-13 in 3OT at their place. Texas High finished 7-3 and 2nd in their district to Longview.
4th loss (25-21) was to Gladewater (4ADII). Gladewater finished 9-1, District Champs, ranked #8 in 4A, legitimate title contender.
The other 2 losses were to Carthage and CH.... We had so many players out with injury those 2 weeks that we never had a chance.
We are as close to full strength right now as we have been all year. -
Kilgore over Jasper.
