HJ is not looking good. Way too many penalties

I gotta give it to Silsbee they are playing some tough teams. I wouldn’t be worried about the 0-2 start. This schedule will pay off when the Tigers start district and move into the playoffs.

Does OF play anyone good this year or do they have a cupcake schedule?

They are good. But BC is bad too. I wouldn’t look too deep into this.

Someone keep me updated

They didn’t have Pomirko starting last Friday. They had another sophomore starting. EC is always coached well and is always a solid group. This game will be closer than y’all think. HJ defense was something serious last Friday. Hopefully they can carry that into this week. The offense is still young but they are getting better. 18-17 HJ.

I’m hoping BC. But in reality it’ll probably be Jasper.

HJ showed up tonight. Great confidence booster for the Hawks. Dubois picked up right where he left off at HJ. The offense looked good tonight. Still can improve on some things. Defense looked great! I don’t think CS made it past the 50 yard line in this one. All around good win for the Hawks.

Don’t know anything about Coldspring. But I’ve got HJ winning this one.

You can make all the excuses you want. It doesn’t change the fact the guy wasn’t a good coach.

He only had 1 season where he won more than 2 games (that should be enough alone) and the number of kids playing the past 2 seasons have never been smaller. The season before he came they won more games than his entire 3 years there. Ran 3 different offenses in his 3 seasons. Had horrible defenses when he’s supposed to be a defensive mind.

Coach Davis is putting his team through a rigorous offseason. A lot of hard work going on at HJ right now. I expect big things this year.

I heard they only have 5 seniors. Majority of the team is sophomores.

You’re right it doesn’t matter anymore. But he is the reason kids weren’t showing up to play. That’s why they have small numbers this year. There are several talented kids not playing this year because the last guy ran the program into the ground.

I think Anahuac scored twice in the controlled/practice part. Hj had a pick 6 and scored once in the live quarters.

Wos getting shut out. Unheard of.

HJ had some good drives in the live quarters. Defense looked really good in the live quarters! They still have a long ways to go but they are getting there.

I believe it was the last guy in charge that ran the kids off.

HJ is very young this year. Heard they only have 5 seniors. Still adjusting to the new coach and new system. I have no doubt they will be ready week 1. Future is bright for HJ.
