I started this post so maybe I can clear this up, then finally end this topic. When I first became a member to this website I took to heart alot of what people said about my son, then had to remember that people have a opinion, and leave it at that a opinion. I later apologized to that person, because he have that right to speak upon the topic that was made available. Now as far as this topic and how it came about. I am not from Nederland even tho my kids are born and raised here, but if you were from the Golden Triangle the past 20 years you know who the Nederland Bulldogs are. A very well coached and system team, no questions are arguments to follow. Now i have worked here in Nederland for 7 years, and every year this topic is talked about from the men who grew up in Nederland knowing every player. Then I listened and kinda agree on certain things, but all in all we can agree to disagree. Many thought I made this post out due to my son, but really trying to find out the truth behind the stories. My son still has another year of high school, but knows if there are no colleges calling life goes on. That football doesn't define his future,personality,and his reasons to life. However the way situations went about this weekend,the phone calls of people I never knew, it makes you wonder. Now like I said it was just a opinion topic, and  whoever feels offended or misjudged talk to me. I am man enough to apologize if wrong, but man enough to stand up when you start bringing this to my boys. It was simply a opinion ladies and gentlemen!

Thank You- these coaches are making a very good living off what these kids are buying into, to say that coaches shouldn't help their players achieve the next level if he has the means is "BS". I hope alot of kids and parents are reading this to understand that in this time of life the saying is, What have you done for me lately and what you plan on doing later. I'm doing my part like I said my son knows what has to be done. Like today we are at Lamar junior invite, and what do I see former Bulldog Karin Johnson here, and with who his "HEAD COACH ". Good job Kenny Harrison on helping your players who buy in your program, rather they get to college or not. Hummer few Central coaches too humm

What you have to understand though is that everybody doesn't have the means to go to college if they chose to. Some of these kids only way out of their enviroments is a football field or a basketball court, and they understand that at a very early age. There are academic requirements to stay eligible in sports and if you stay in good standing, by the time your college career is over you'll either be graduated or very close. To me, if getting a scholarship isn't your goal then your accepting mediocrity. Some kids play and know full well they won't get a scholarship but that doesn't mean that's not one of their goals. I don't let my son play football because I like worrying about him being paralyzed, I let him play because it got me a degree and I know how an education can kick-start your life. Especially one you get debt free.

So what you saying is that a kid should give his all for the benefit to only help the coach be successful, but the kid maybe getting a better education at best out of a scholarship is to much for coaches to try and help reward some of his players with if he can. Hummmm

Get your kid to recruiting events unless your kid is 6'5" and amazing, in that case, they will find you.  And get them to the events as early as 8th grade otherwise, youre late.
