Which one is BMTSoulja1 refering too?  You always hear people tell Dove that your son played well but you never hear which one.  So do i assume it's always Jordan because he is the better of the two? IMO...I think Jared is the better point gaurd. So maybe everyone should start refering to dove as your boys had a good game, not your boy.
 2.

I haven't seen any small schools play, and I haven't seen all Big schools play either. I have watched many of these players for 2-3 years, and I do not claim to be a player evaluator: 1. Weisbrod 2. Johnson 3. Wileridge 4. Green 5. English 6. Hunter 7. Lott 8. Pearson 9. Bosha 10. Zeno 11. Holmes 12. Hadnot 13. Chapman 14. Elam 15. Hunter 16. Paige 17. Lormier-Ned 18. DeVaugn Thomas-Silsbee 19. Mitchell 20. AJ Smith-PNG 21. Dante Wilson-Silsbee 22. Jacoby Jones-Ozen I have also not seen T. Edwards play.
there is noooooooooo way AJ Smith should be up there
I would have to agree with you on that!!!!!

I've been saying this for every game that I've been to and I haven't missed one yet. We don't have the height but that doesn't mean that we can't attack the boards. It was a pretty good game once my Panthers finally realized they were on the court and not on the bus.  :D
Yes, they did really back, but I think with the big rally, they spent everything, and didn't have enough in the tank at the end.  The next game well be a good one as well. Ozen will be ready.  [s]Btw, your boy had a good game![/s]
Thanks! But you can't put that in writing  ;).
One of the college coaches liked his game too  ;)
Which one had the good game?  Jared or Jordan?
 4.

No Toe Toe dunked on Caleb #44....but anyways great win by Central they played HARD from the tip off to the end...Ozen has some soul searching to do ...PERIOD...
Yea, I forgot about  one.  That dunk off the vertical.  Toe Toe was almost under the goal when he flushed that one home.  I was thinking of the one Wells attempted. Anyways, Bigshow and that other detractor, what's Ozen's excuse for losing.  This will be interesting.
The boys had the flu? I didn't get the chance to see this game but from what i hear, Central is the better team. Congrats on a big win... I will be sure to make it the next time you all meet at Ozen... I am just curious though... What was the free throw attempts for both team? I am not saying that's the reason Central won. Do you know?
 5. Nederland played very sloppy but still managed a 21 pt victory!!!!! Congrats Dogs...
 6. Wow... congrats Livingston..... I hope the Dogs can take care of business Friday at home against you all...It should be a good game!
 7. Congrats Central on a big win to start the district...Just curious what were the free throw attempts for both teams?
 8.
If you say so.  What will you say or do if the Ozen beating Central thing doesn't pan out?  Will you come back to eat crow or will you say the blame the 10 to 4 foul count ?  Maybe you'll say something like 'this wouldn't happen if Boutee was here's and call for your coaches head.
The truth is, maybe a little of both.... I would admit if Central is better(if they are) but most likely will be the foul count that will give yall the win tonight.... lol. Central is a very good and i think they are a couple years away from a state run...
 9. I have LCM beating both Livingston and PNG... There is a good chance they could get the 3rd spot over Ozen....
 10. They want be next week, after Ozen beats them tonight...
 11. Central with a double digit win... Only because Central at home gets most of the calls.... I like to call that "HOME COOKING".  I predict Central will shoot twice as many free throws then Ozen.
 12.
Silsbee did get too many off rebounds and 2nd chance shots however a lot of that was probably due to our zone defense causing silsbee to take long shots which resulted in long rebounds. Our defense played good. I thought Hanley and Lormier handled the ball well. We broke the press well. Late in the game we made some clutch rebounds and freethrows by English and Rogers. Even with the constant hacking and fouling that wasn't called Ned handled the pressure and kept their composure. Probably the most exciting game from start to finish I've seen in a long time
I agree 5 on 5.  Not to mention it was a good night all around for Nederland making it a clean sweep. Freshman win 54  16 and JV wins by 2, in a game they had a double digit lead in most of the game.  Congrats to a good night for the Nederland program...
 13.
Episcopal is a good team, not a very good team.
Does that mean that Ozen is a average team? If they lost that bad to just a good team.  ;)
 14. Good win central... got some pay back.  How did the Freshman and JV games go?  Does anyone have the final to those games?
 15. I think the dogs came out with a chip on there shoulder tonight...They played with some toughness and intensity to pull out a big win on the road tonight!  The talk all week about Silsbee having all there football players back and Nederland only beat them in the YMBL because they didn't have there complete team.  Well, what's the excuse now? All the boys on Silsbee helped some friends paint there house yesterday and there forearms were soar and it effected there jump shot. LOL... just a joke. Silsbee simply couldn't hit there shot's tonight and Nederland did. Silsbee is very athletic and will be tough to beat in there district. Good luck to both teams in district play.

If so, I hate to hear that. This is couron's last year and i think he will regret that decision later. On the other side of the coin, both these boys have a good chance to play football at the next level. So maybe that has something to do with there decision. If it does and they are both wanting to heal up and reduce the risk of injury, i don't blame them.  As for the team goes, it would be nice to have that extra size in there to give Weisbrod a break, which could help late in games. IMO... the dogs will be just fine and will continue to improve.
Good point... it surely didn't hurt Mike Evans from Galveston Ball a couple years ago. He has turned into one heck of a receiver for Texas A&M. I was told, in person, by a head coach in the Big 12, that when he is evaluating players for scholarships, he can tell in five minutes more about who he wants by watching them on the basketball court than he can on the football field.
17.
HJ Freshman team beat Lumberton this morning by about 26.  Then this afternoon they came from 21 down to beat PA Memorial by 1.  This is the same PA Memorial team that beat Nederland's "Fab 5" earlier this week.  (And Nederland people, that is meant as a compliment; your freshmen group is the best I've seen in the area). Will play Kountze in the championship on Saturday. It even looked like "real basketball" ;) Congrats.... I am glad yall beat them.  Nederland freshman group played very bad vs memorial.  They would love another shot at them but unfortunately it want happen this year...Good Luck saturday and bring it home.
19.
Would Rodman be welcome on the team or slighted because he didn't have "BASKETBALL SKILLS?"
He would be welcomed with open arms.... just like the FB players.

Englishs' brother was one of em, so don't give me the you gotta play year round basketball line, that's NOT true.
I think you are completely missing the boat on this one.  Obviously we welcome them to the team.  As stated several times, they will help with defense and rebounding, which Nederland really needs.  I dont think you are so naive to not know that each sport has its own set of "skills" that are unique to its sport.  Dribbling, shooting and passing come to mind in basketball.  Those I would consider Basketball skills.  Just because you may not be strong in those skills, doesnt mean you are not athletic and that you cant help a basketball team in other ways.  The kids that are coming over from football are great kids.  Basketball may be their 2nd or 3rd option as far as sports go.  They might rather spend their summer and off-season developing their skills in other sports or areas and that is absolutely okay.  Nobody in my opionion is trying to be offensive to these kids (I know I am not).  I dont see them as just being "Extra Bodies" out there, but will be key components in helping this team achieve its goals for this season.
I second that!!!!!!!!

This team needs some toughness and they will bring this to the team.
 22.
Big Show, if all those football boys can do is rebound, why would they help.  Evidently that don't count as basketball skills?  Why would these football guys touch the floor if they have no basketball skills?  There's a lot more to basketball than a pretty jumpshot...
IMO.. every good team needs role players... 1 of the 3 returning players has better basketball skills than the other 2 but you don't have to have great basketball skills to help your team win. This isn't a knock against any of the three boys, they are all good athletes. The truth is they don't put in the time over the summer to really improve there skills.  IMO they help the team with there size and physical ability.  They will play tough D and make you earn your baskets. They can also score under the goal as well.  Dennis Rodman didn't have great basketball skills but he help his teams win!!!!!! How? Defense and rebounding............
 23.

We have done good so far, with Couron Washington Kimler (Seay said coach is looking to move him up to varsity) all coming from football, they will add size and depth to the bench.
Move'em up! Go for it.  Will get the experience and get better.
Nobody is 'moving up'. These kids are joining the team from FB. 3 of the 4 he mentioned were on Varsity last year. I doubt any of the Freshmen players will move up this year. I expect many of these Freshmen will be on Varsity next year though, and they should be ready by then.
I agree....The freshman will play a lot of b-ball this summer and will be ready for the challenge. The first five for Nederland are as good as any teams first five in the district. Adding the 3 or 4 football players will help with rebounding. The only problem is that none of those boys have great basketball skills. So i think with a mixture of starters and a couple football players in there make Nederlands defense and defensive rebounding much better.  In the 4 games Nederland has lost had a lot to do with allowing the other team to many offensive boards. I just hope the football players can get into basketball shape before district play. Go Dogs!!!!!
