They can have a good running game with Chatman.if he proves to be the real thing then sc can have more balance to compete with top notch programs in the playoffs.Playoffs also comes down to coaching too no more blowout wins like in the regular season
One thing for sure is Chatman isn't a better back than what AJ Jeffery has already proven to be or he would have gotten some run last year. Jeffrey was one of the top sophs. in the state and he did it on the field, not during a cone drill. He did it with everybody in the entire stadium knowing he was getting it too. I thought SC was supposed to have all these good receivers in the pipeline, why is a kid that played rb on a 3 win team getting a starting spot at receiver where he's obviously having issues adjusting? Chatman says he could get 1000 yards on 10-15 carries which tells me he plans on averaging 9 ypc. I know there's smaller backs that do that but big backs such as Keevon Aldridge y'all had last year have a hard time getting going when the o-line doesn't create movement which SC's rarely does due to them practicing pass plays/ pass blocking all the time.
I think the coaches want to keep controversy down. I still have no doubt in my mind, Jeffrey will get a shot a running back before the season ends.

As far as the line practicing pass blocking...Wrong.....they always working on blocking for the run for I - formation.
Controversy?  Makes you wonder who's really making the personnel decisions at SC.  Might be too much parental input?

It's sooo good to be at the top.

    1. Summer Creek
    2. Dayton
    3. Crosby
    4. Barbers Hill
    5. Kingwood Park
    6. CE King
    7. Humble
    8. New Caney Porter
    9. New Caney
Did the new jerseys with targets on them come in?
LMAO!  We're the biggest game on everyone's schedule in the district. It will be fun.

They say that Sharp is going to make his decision on a college this week .do you guys have any idea who that might be.Summer Creek is ranked pre-season #7 in the state with a chance within the season to be number 1 if a few teams lost because I do not see Summer Creek losing a game in the regular season unless for injuries.
Still thinking Sharp's stock could go higher with a BIG season ...that aside, your guess is as good as mine.

It will be tough for SC to move up even with running the table again in district 19 ....UNLESS we show some SOLID defense and a more devastating run game (do you know any kids on SC that can help with the run game?).  That aside, SC will be the underdogs in most playoff games due to our brief history.  We must show we can deal with top programs like the teams ranked above us.

Yeah Dawson didn't know what hit them... Nederland had some good skill kids also.  The QB, RB & WR were ball players.  I want to see what they bring this year.  Hopefully I can catch them.  I watch a game every Thurs, Fri and Sat and don't mind traveling.
Ned will be lucky to beat Vidor and a couple other teams in their district.
  5.
Lineman is a must.  As much as I love skill players... once you see teams like Katy, Allen and other trench heavy elites you realize what the battle at the line of scrimmage truly mean.  Man I saw Nederland whip the sh!t out of Dawson at the line of scrimmage last year a Reliant.  On both sides of the ball.  Honestly I think Nederland could have kept it simple and ran the ball down there throats all night.  SC has the athletes to be special again and they are my favorites to win Region 3. Sharp is a Legit Stud and he must put the team on his back if he wants a shot a the State Title.
Agree about Sharp.  His time is now.  He needs to elevate the team similar to how Heard led Guyer through State.

Galena Park and North Shore are two different schools, they're in the same ISD and play in the same stadium. NS has over 4600 by themselves, Galena Park has less than 2000. NS Mustangs, Galena Park Yellow Jackets. They just call them GP North Shore because that's what school district they're, much like y'all are listed, Humble Atascosita,  Humble SC or Humble Kingwood Park. North Shore is a completely different place than Galena Park.
I know they're two separate schools.  SC scrimmages Galena Park each year.  Just was blown away by Northshore's enrollment.  The school doesn't look large enough to house that many kids.  AHS is a pretty large school ...and at 3500, they had kids in portable classrooms in the parking lot.
Believe me, it isn't. Those kids really have to struggle to get anything out of class lectures at that school. They really get screwed out of a good education much like at Aldine isd.
Not true. You get a good Education in Aldine ISD
This is a sports  board... not a bash educators board... Lets leave education out of the equation... because 99% of the time the education you receive is the education you worked to achieve... Talking smack is one thing but this is on the edge of no no no..... just my opinion...
I hear Vidor is pretty bad educationally too.  JUST KIDDING COACH ...although both you and Cougar make good points.
  7. SONGONE!  Man, so glad you came by.  How exciting was it to see former 4A Manvel beat the brakes off of PAM?  Were they a good warm up to some real competition in round 2?

Agree you gave some legit information in that old post.  I was drunk on the total domination SC had last year.  It was intoxicating.

Last year's SC team got a good glipse at a 5A O Line and D Line when the played Georgetown.  We got beat up in the trenches and GT basically controlled the line of scrimmage.  I've yet to see more than 1 ...maybe 2 true lineman come through SC, so that's high on my wish list for the future.
North Shore has two campuses. The one you're talking about is on Wallisvillle, they have another campus on Woodforest which is the old high school and houses freshmen and others. They probably have over 1500 kids on that campus.
Ohhh... I know where that campus is.  Man, their enrollment is off the charts.  I can't even clown PAM for losing to those guys.

Now Manvel ...truly a thing of beauty ...less kids than PAM and beat the brakes off of them.
actually at this point in time Manvel may have more kids than PAM, shocking isn't dumbdawgs?  ;) ::)

And that shows what you know about North Shore, they been having an enrollment passed 4,000 students, you need to do your research more then maybe YOU wouldn't be surprised its just one school and not two.  ;)

MBG, was referring to something posted to me some time back.  From TIGERATTACK ...a Manvel fan.  This post: around page 8 or so: http://www.setxsports.com/site/index.php?topic=106400.105

"It's a lot of 5A teams that would beat the dog censored out of SC right now... I thought Manvel was tough censored last year too & yes we were a great 4A team.  5A is a rude awakening bro... I know, I'm experiencing it now.  Early in the season PAM would have drug Manvel up and down the field. (and I'm a Manvel fan).
Honestly 5A is a whole different ball game in the trenches.  Playing a teams like NS convinced me of that.  When a team has 2 or 3 different, big and talented lines on both side of the ball to throw at you for 4 quarters, depth immediatedly becomes an issue.  And the average 5A team never quit... never!  LP and PAM has learned how to play against the big schools... Scheme wise, clock wise etc... It's not easy bro.  SC can't beat half the teams that lost in the 1st round of 5A playoffs. ex:  PAM, Pearland, Cy Falls, Lake Travis, Cy Fair, Klein Oak, Spring Dekaney... etc  Manvel would probably be ranked #1 4A without the alignment.  Now we just in the middle of the pack taking it one game at a time.  It ain't easy.  There's no Yates, Sharpstowns etc... in 5A playoffs."
Ever heard of the "sandbagging" concept genius? Probably not since SC cant sandbag yet, they have to win a 2nd round playoff game first.  ;)
Doesn't look like PAM could get out of the FIRST round last year!  Guess you drew tough competition, huh?  I bet there were some 2nd round teams that PAM could have beat soundly.  The luck of the draw.
Yes we did, so did SC but the difference is we know we lost to the better team, SC on the otherhand (specifically YOU) still think it was a travesty and outright wrong that yall lost to the better team that was GTown.  ;)
You lost to a middle of the pack team (according to Tigerattack) that moved up from 4A.  That's gotta suck.  One and done. After all that jawing you've been doing.  WOW.  SC lost to a 5A team that moved down.  The're an advantage to moving down from a division that was more competitive.  GT got to prepare for 4A playing 5A teams.  Manvel prepared for 5A by playing 4A teams.  There's a difference.
You dumb arse mutt, TIGERATTACK is a KATY fan, SONGONE is a Manvel fan who in fact posted that as "sandbagging"....... Get yours facts straight before you post.
Whatever ...I don't stalk the forum members like you.  You probably know their blood type and when they take a leak.  Just focus on Northshore and Manvel ...getting the poster's name right is the least of a PAM fan's worries.
  11. ::) oh lawd ...time for another love fest of MBG's disciples.

Yes Tigerattack was giving good advice.  If you think I'm bad now, I was really bad then (and you were still one of my biggest fans).  Can't we leave the past in the past?  You PAM fans sure hang on to the past ...seeing how you got sent home one and done last year.  IJS.

Looks like a shakeup at New Caney with the addition of Jimmy Klingler as OC.He brings his son Cory 6-4,285 an all district OT with him from Manvel.Previous postings mention a Coach Martin calling plays,I did not find him in last years game program, mentions a coach Andy Smith as Offensive Cord. Can anyone shine light.Where did Coach Sink leave to and with him New Caney's returning QB? Texas Football Magazine mentions Cody Young as probable QB.
A tackle or a coach isn't going to help New Carney. They're dead last in the district in talent and don't have the enrollment to make up for it. You could put Gary Joseph over there and still not get to .500. Until NC benefits from the growth in the area they'll be competing with Porter for last unless they realign to district 18.
If this is true, Barbers Hill shouldn't compete either.  Talent is important, but its not everything at the high school level.  Discipline, preparation, and execution can win you a lot of games.  Look at Katy.  They run their machine and win ...but not many D1's compared to other schools like North Shore, Manvel
BH has a heck of a lot more talent than New Caney. They have a four year starter at qb who's a UT commit in baseball, the best rb in the district behind Walter and Jeffery, and last year they had the best lb in the district with Garrett Dolan in my opinion. Katy doesn't have a bunch of D1 talent but what they do have are huge offensive linemen and big backs that rush for 2000 yards most years like Dean, Young and Taylor. People on this forum always talk about hard work like the other kids aren't working just as hard. The kids at Crosby were throwing up on themselves while they were running this week but you're not going to hear me talking about how hard they're working because I know the kids at Dayton, BH, and SC are working just as hard. Coaching and talent are the most important things at the high school level. BH much like Deer Park is going to dump all the funds they need to support their program and most times you get decent results with that method, that's why BH is better than most others on the sub-high school level. It may get you to the playoffs but most years you won't have the horses to be a threat.
Good points ...I might throw in that if kids are tossing their cookies during summer workouts, they're probably showing up out of shape.  SC's kids stay in training year round and I imagine many other schools do this as well.

I still believe that New Caney could put a better product on the field with their current players than what we've seen.  When all else fails, there's the Katy model ...RECRUIT!  One solid running back from Humble or Northshore area could help NC win some games.
Thats the thing: Katy DOESN'T recruit, their coaching staff gets the best out of their players.  ;)

    Execution, execution, EXECUTION!  ;)
You keep believing that AND in unicorns.
New Braunfels Unicorns have gotten past the 2nd round in the playoffs before, something SC can only dream about.  ;)
And Northshore beat MANVEL ...something PAM can only dream about.
PAM has gotten out of the 2nd round and gotten a Regional Title recently....something SC will never have but can dream about  ;)
How many years has PAM been competing ...you're jawing about a squad that has been in existence for a few years.  I mean really.  Manvel moved up and whooped PAM's 5A tail.  Not by a small margin either.  You guys just keep picking on Channelview for wins.
49-37 was the final score genius, know your facts before you post dumb arse things that YOU think is the truth.  ;)
Dumb arse? ...they rolled 49 on you FOOL.  You only look at one side of the score board.  By a team that moved UP (not down).
You do know Manvel is a top level program right? They played for State the year prior. Enrollment had nothing to do with why we lost, we lost to a better team. Were not like SC fans (specifically YOU who blames enrollment figures on why they lost a playoff game ;))
Yeah they won ...in 4A.  You think Guyer competes with Katy?  4A and 5A are different games (as you should know).  Manvel came up as a middle of the pack team and them BOOM ...smoked an established 5A program that send ten kids to college football per year (according to you).

In all seriousness, that's like SC moving up and smoking Northshore.  Would be a lot of shame to go around NS after that game.

Galena Park North Shore 4601
    Deer Park 3917
    Baytown Sterling 2440
    Channelview 2331
    Beaumont West Brook 2327
    Port Arthur Memorial 2270
    La Porte 2185

    New Caney Porter 1366
    Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill 1287

    Difference of 733

so IF SC gains 200-300 kids on next realignment... they would around WB #'s  in 21-5A ...

Repeat from an earlier post . . . 19-4A enrollment numbers as of October 2012, according to the Texas Education Association:

    Summer Creek 2186
    Crosby 1482
    Dayton 1391
    Houston King 1794
    Humble 1483
    Humble Kingwood Park 1681
    Mt Belvieu Barbers Hill 1297
    New Caney 1421
    New Caney Porter 1493

SC is up by over 160 students in the one year since the October 2011 snapshot, and is about 50% larger than the average of the other 19-4A schools.

At almost 2200, SC is in the same range as La Porte, PAM, Manvel. One of the big differences between SC and those three is that La Porte, PAM and Manvel have all won three or more playoff games in a single season within the past two years, while SC has only won ONE playoff game in those two years.

    Past two year playoff records:
    La Porte 5-2
    Manvel 7-2
    PAM 4-2
    SC 1-2

Thank you for helping my point ...if you look at the UIL #s from the link I posted ...it has Humble at 1550.  Your numbers have Humble at 1483 ...where are these kids going?  AHS?

Why don't the bunch of you take this love fest to a hotel room.

The only chance 19-4A has of stopping this team is talking about 5A competition a year (or more from now).  MBG being the biggest mouth in this sad argument.

How bout you focus on the teams SC will see THIS YEAR?  Of course you can send your scare signals about what a school with 3500 kids will do to a school with 2,000.  Big deal.  Y'all are geniuses.
