Just back from the hill country and glad to be home. Had plenty of time to think about  this up coming football season. Dayton finishes no worse than second place. Go ahead and book sc as a dayton win. Crosby is the only team in district that will be a toss up.
I agree completely! 8)
Dayton goes to #3 or #4 at best.  Really depends on how BH plays.  I think BH will be serving up some whoop-ass to the Broncos this season.  Dayton will be battling Humble for First of the WORST in the District.
Dayton will be stacked you just wait and see (as OctFeb would put it) DingleDawg! ;D
Stacked with what?  And why didn't you play those kids last year?

You must be smoking the same weed that MBG smokes.  I'll accept some smack talk from Crosby ...but Dayton, really?  You guys aren't going to be good for another season or two.
Your comment just goes to show you know NOTHING about Dayton.... Lord let the season begin already....
I know Dayton SUCKS!  You call SC a hyped program ...last year's Dayton squad was all hype and OVER-RATED by a mile.  I still can't see how that team got 9 wins.  Must have been several miracles in the Dayton-land.
Umm I think not dingledawgs... I have never called SC a hyped program. And by end of season.. the wheels were falling of the Dayton squad. No excuses.. it was what it was.... I have and will always say that SC beat the snot out of Dayton last season... And for Dayton to come undone like they did last season was WAY out of character for them.  Which just goes to show yet again, you have no clue about Dayton's program.  ::)
"You" was plural ...was speaking to the general consensus from the forum (like from haters like MBG).  I do agree that you...OctFeb never made that comment.

    Dayton still sucks my dear.

There is plenty of people and tax revenue moving into the district.  In my neighborhood there were about 20 houses in our edition when i moved there a year and a couple of months ago.  Now there are at least 80-90 houses that have been built, and about 30 more going up now.  That's one side of one edition. Not to mention Falcon , Firethorne and some of the others that are blowing up right now.  As far as SC averaging 10,000 per home game, I seriously doubt that.
There's no doubt people are moving there. The problem is they are maxed out on tax rate. I read several articles where that affects the bonds, etc. I don't understand the whole process, but there has been reports of issues on so many bonds, maybe because others haven't been paid off before they are floating others. Remember sales taxes is what helps the most. Residential taxes help, but not near as much. The issue is they could've built the stadium for the southside schools on the southside, but wouldn't do that because it would upset the original Katy political folks. ;)
Okay ....this makes sense.  Katy is exploding and its tough keeping up with the growth.  For example, 20,000 people move to Katy this year ...and the ISD must be prepared to educate recent arrivals before that tax money gets flowing.  So, the ISD has to build in anticipation of the new arrivals based on home building.  Sounds like Katy is over-extended right now, but should be back into fat city once those tax payments start rolling in.

    Duh we're still a winning program,we were 9-0 then lost last 2.SC hasn't proved squat ;) ;D
We proved we can stomp the s**t outta Dayton.  That's all you need to worry about.
Honestly I think your jealous of Dayton... Why? I don't know.. Is it because Dayton is well respected as a good football program? Or maybe it's just how most in SC roll with lack of respect for anyone other than themselves.. All I ask is you have them teef nice and pretty when Dayton rolls into Turner Stadium this year. Smile for da camera  ;D
Dayton is the has-been team as long as SC is in the district.

So after Dayton takes their SECOND whipping in front of the SC's 10,000 faithful ...is that now a TREND?

SC stays in 19-4A next year.  You heard it here first.

Couple of things for you 14 I am a Vidor fan by proxy to them being in 20-4a. I also would take the Pirates of Vidor which has many many deep traditions in there sports program over that of one who has a lot of learning to do. Good luck to you in your district and is hard as it is for you to accept it Dayton is the stick to which that district is measured.
This traditions must be in girls sports. They just got good in football a couple of years ago and they're towards the bottom of the district in everything else. I'd rather the school with a couple of district titles and more talent to work with. Just because they talk a lot doesn't mean they don't respect the other schools. They stomped Dayton and the Dayton fans have to hear it just like the games between Crosby,BH, and Dayton. Everybody knows Dayton's tradition over here, if you read the Vype articles you'll see Brian Ford even referenced it. We just don't revere them they way y'all do a Ned or PNG. Dayton only has one less district loss than Crosby and BH do over the last couple years and has a new coach so we'll see what happens from here on out. I accepted them as a measuring stick a while ago Jack, maybe you're the one that should do more reading or research.

One of the biggest things I have learned from demmydog is he has a huge lack of knowledge of football history for this area. Respect will be earned for Summer river 20 or 30 years from now when we see whether they have then earned it.
Summer Creek will be "that school" that talks about those few years that they were the big, bad Bulldogs of 19-4A.  Once they move up a classification and are continually stomped year in and year out by Klein, Atascocita, Kingwood and The Woodlands  - they will just be a bottom tiered team in District 13.  I'm sorry - but I just don't see an uprising of people moving to Summer Creek to live and have their kids compete in the big, bad Humble ISD.  The small number of those folks would rather live/attend and have a Kingwood address.
Did you say Atascocita and Kingwood stomping SC ...Seriously?  SC has a solid chance of beating both teams right now.

IF SC's numbers go as high as many are predicting, who knows what will happen in 5A.  I'm not saying we'll be the top seed by a long shot, but we should be able to go in there middle of the pack and grow.  Look at Manvel.

Way to go VYPE!  A beautiful magazine dedicated to SC's talent.  Also loved they gave us the prime photos.  It should help them sell more magazines.

I do take issue with ONE of the sections ...the running backs.  Jordan Braden wasn't a top guy last year.  If anything, AJ Jeffreys should have been in the spot as he had 2 times the yardage of Braden.  Also, Braden was 3rd in SC's rushing yards.  I really hope Braden has a stellar year, but am betting Chapman will lead the team...until Jeffreys gets his chance.

Really don't recall seeing any other 19-4A teams mentioned.  Hmmmm?
Wasn't AJ Jefferies a transfer in this year??? Didn't he get all them yards with C E King???? DD your credibility just took another hit dude...
Yes he was a transfer ...but if they're highlighting the 2013-2014 season ...I believe Jeffreys should have been the guy in the RB photo with the bulldog jersey (or even Chatman).  Also, Braden was the #3 rusher last year behind Aldridge and Smith.  Wasn't including Jeffreys in that stat.
ok so my question is ... when was the photo taken? was it taken before, or after Jefferies arrived? Did his past incidents keep the coach from putting that type of attitude as the mainstay RB until it was earned? I mean is that the attitude he wanted projected about his team? someone with a bit of a track record that has a few flaws without getting to know the young man and if he was worthy of being in that photo? ... Not bashing just asking the hard line questions...
Good points ...dunno about the photo dates ...would imagine they couldn't have been that long ago.

I'm worried that the SC coaches are basically saying that Braden will be the featured back on SC's offense.  I'm really hoping he's improved quite a bit over last season.  IMO Braden was more effective in the slot than at RB.  I can't see how you justify starting a guy that rushed for 400+ yards over a guy that rushed for almost 900 yards.  Also consider that Jeffreys had 108 attempts and Braden had 82 ...so there's not a huge disparity in carriers either.  I'm just sayin'.

To your point, attitude is everything and you don't want to reward a guy that hasn't earned it.

Rendering shows a nice stadium, but not as nice as TURNER.

Katy should take a page from Humble and do a major renovation of Rhodes a.k.a. "the dump."  Better yet, build a new stadium, one that is truly befitting of a perennial State Championship program.  No reason why Katy shouldn't have a stadium every bit as nice as Allen.  The money is there ...Katy should spend it.  The Tigers have earned the respect of a top notch facility.
Yhe problem is the money isn't there. That's why they laid off teachers a couple of years ago. Too many people moving there and not enough schools. That's why they are doing bond referendums every couple of years. Katy ISD will eventually have about 10-11 high schools in the future once the northside starts growth. Also another HS is scheduled for the Cross Creek Ranch area.
HUH?  People moving there, but money isn't there?

I've heard on this forum that ticket sales really don't generate big dollars ...is that really true?  A stadium like Rhodes has to be pulling in some BIG BUCKS.  A LARGE state of the art stadium in Katy could be a profit center for the district.

If Katy ISD is going broke, sum-body is mismanaging at a large proportion.

Look at the math ...SC pulls on average 10,000 per home game ...so 5 home games times an average ticket price of $5 = WINNING!  Look for the new SC mascot/tunnel coming this season.  1.2 million for the finest materials and gold inlays.

  16. Obviously college is not bound by districts like high school, so any "scouting" would really put a program in a precarious situation with the UiL.

I love the football analyst job at the college level ...really think smaller schools could benefit a lot from this type of assistance.  I'm betting there are PLENTY of kids that end up walking on at smaller schools that could/should be recruited (probably some that got discouraged and never played again too).  They may not be top D1 talent during their senior year, but a good analyst might see the potential to develop a guy with the right basics.  I believe Prairie View recently had a walk-on defensive end that's now playing in the pros.  He started on the offensive side of the ball and was developed into defensive player.  With many/most high school taping & (online) broadcasting their games, the opportunity to been seen is much higher than it was years ago.

At the high school level, a Football analyst could really help a new program or a struggling one.  They might help with personnel moves too.  For instance moving future 1st round playoff exit winner, D. Chatman at SC, to RB during his freshman year instead of his junior year.  8)

Well it took me awhile but I can finally talk. Some of you know that I am Brock Pryors dad and it I got the shock of my life this year. Brock received several offers to play football from full rides to partials. The family was so excited as he had put in alot of work and we had taken him all over to camps, combines and visits. He decided on some schools and aalll was  good. Then bam he comes to me and says dad I don't want to play football anymore. I think my heart stopped. He continued to explain that he loved playing for Nederland and Coach Neumann but he wanted to be able to walk and think when he was my age. Brock said I just want to go to college get a degree and go to work for one of the refineries. I sat and listened in disbelief. After talking to several people and talking it over and over and over with Brock, I finally accepted it. I am proud that he came to me face to face and was man enough to stand up for what he wants. He has made us proud . So it is good to be back.
There's something about the Fall and the start of football season.  You never know, he may get that urge to play once the season rolls around.  High Football in Texas is very demanding ...I'm sure after going through 4 years of that type of commitment, it can be a lot on any kid.  Please update us if Brock decides to go back to the grid iron.
