I agree, Penny. That is the "nature" of the game, getting a top notch coach, we as fans tend to think its magic. But we have to remember, its the players themselves, that determine the outcome. With that being said, I saw a lot of improved fundamentals last nite and it excited me. I think Faircloth is doing a good job and has brought excitement to the Reservation. You're not goind to build a program over night, and I think its unfair to Faircloth and the players to judge after the very first preseason game...but then, opinions do prevail. Best of luck to ALL the teams in our district! BTW, Kirby is in my prayers.

Thats an opinion that I don't think I would put in a forum.....things like that have a way to come back and bite you in the butt! Win/lose, we're all part of 20-4A. It seems turnovers were rampant all over the district last night...thats typical in preseason as the boys work out the jitters and continue to focus for district play.

I will wait until tomorrow to make a prediction. BUT, I think Faircloth will make the necessary adjustments this week with the Indians...but will wait and see how Merka fairs tonite before I make a prediciton.

#8 is Dre Dunbar....he WAS all over the place. I believe 3 INT's. This kid wll definitely be someone to watch. The game turned out the way a pre-season game should. Kids were nervous, lots of mistakes on both sides of the ball, will make for a good training film to correct mistakes and move on. What impressed me the most is that PNG never gave up...these kids came out and played with heart, something I haven't seen in a while from the Indians. Thanks to the kind folks from Barbers Hill. You have a lot of class! On my way out...several BH fans commented on how nice The Reservation was and that it was top notch! I think Faircloth is doing a GREAT job at PNG and we will see only bigger and better things ahead!

Would be nice if PNG were to take district, but I think of all the teams, Vidor definitely has the best chance! Glad to see Vidor getting some respect this year...been a long time coming.

Our JV looked pretty good against Memorial last week. JV QB is a big kid 6'4" Freshman needed some work. Good God! What are they feeding these kids ;D The whole mentality of the program has changed and goes to the freshmen level of play. PNG is definitely building a solid program from the youth up ! PNG in my opinion should have a fully reloaded team every year from here on out for years to come. Coach Faircloth is the real deal in my view. He wants to win and he brought in coaches who want to win and who also have a winning history with the teams they coached at before PNG !!! To be successful you have to surround yourself with winners ! Faircloth has done that for himself with the new coaches, and in turn it surrounds the players with winners as well. Just a philosophy! Good Post!
