  1. I have no idea, but if he got an offer to Texas Tech I think he would have taken it, and why didnt Washington hold him back that year when he got that offer.
  2. I'm sorry he has an offer to Lamar. I don't know if he has full out commited or not.
  3. He is commited to Lamar so yeah. I dont really know what you are getting at.
  4. Thats the problem with people these days they always blame coaching when they have no clue what it takes. Maybe he did do a bad job but it didnt cost the kid a scholarship cause he signed with Lamar. If you have the talent, work ethic, and attitude for college ball, like Mitchell does, they will find you. Galveston Ball went 0-10 and Johhny Evans just started every game for Texas A&M as a freshman, his coaches didn't hold him back despite not winning a game. If a kid doesnt get recruited to play college ball it just means that kid isn't good enough to play college ball, plain and simple. Coaches dont get kids scholarships; talent, hard work, and effort gets kids scholarships. I'm just telling you what a college coach that recruits this area told me point blank, but I'm sure you know more than he does right. You are alot more qualified because you have a setxsports profile and post a comment.
  5. His point is that there are not the same athletes running through beaumont right now. In football and basketball there is only 1 kid receiving FBS or Div1 offers (Tony Brown) and some people question if he is deserving or not. I have a friend that is a college coach that I grew up with. I asked him why arent colleges coming through beaumont any more. His words and I quote, "There arent athletes there anymore plain and simple, and the ones that are still there have major attitude problems" Beaumont isnt what it once was people wake up and live in reality.
  6. I think Ned will take it. I'm not a png homer by any means but I see them and ned for the next few years. PNG had solid freshman and jv wins if you check the scores. good coach who will have some talent to work with. Dunno if they will take over ned but those two should be good for the next few years.
  7. Whats the word on the Liberty job, its been quiet with all the playoff buzz going on.
  8. Look people the bottom line is this, if you think you can do better than a head coach or that you know how to fix the problem, don't come on this board and annonymously say so. Instead go to college, get your degree, then get your masters, then get certified to teach. Then after those 5-7 years, get you a job as a coach and dedicate the next 10-15 years to earning your way to a head job. So if you wanna be a coach do the work to go with it instead of acting like you know it all on a website. These coaches didn't get where they are by accident, they work crazy hours and earn every bit of it. Thats why no matter how much I care about my kid, I will never question his coaches because they know more than me and my kid combined.
  9. Yeah hitman, and he has the nerve to call some one else an armchair QB, he's an armchair Johhny Unitas.
  10. Youhave been bashing this coaching staff ALL YEAR. How am I an armchair QB for trying to point out that you are bashing coaches and talking on this board as if you are the guy who will personally fire the guy. so what if my stats are wrong, and so what if your stats are right, you are still being negative and bashing coaches, You are the one being an armchair QB, I have never once said what the coaches should do or acted like I could do better. However you have been doing that all year, yeah i looked up stats on a website that listed the wrong information, my bad, That still doesnt mean you are right for being an idiot and acting like you know better than a professional coach.
  11. Well i tried to look it up and it said stump was the coach in 2004, if thats wrong then my bad. I just hate when people try to sit backand act like they know football because they have ESPN and make comments as if coaches will start trying harder because you called them out on this board. Stump was a phenominal coach, and the Bruins were 5-5 last year and lost a kid that went to UT and some other small D2/D3 and JUCO college players. This year they went 4-6, you say that is not what you are used to in a 1st year, but you just went 5-5 in Coach stumps 7th year and he did an amazing job. He probably left for a reason. It's an extremely tough district and in a years time the bruins will most likely be better than they are now.
  12. so you are saying that max preps put his name as the head coach a whole year before he started working there? It says it clear as day go look for your self. It was over 8 years ago buddy, you could just have your years mixed up, people do it all the time. Why would a credited recruiting website report that wrong? you are going off your personal memory, they are a professional football record keeping database. I'll take their word for it over your personal memory.
  13. You are going off memory i just looked it up on max preps. Go look it up for your self buddy, its the truth I did do my research.
  14. This might be the best 1st round playoff game in the entire state wish I could make it.
  15. Craig Stumps first year was in 2004, in which he went 2-8. Stump took a year to get it rolling and when he did they rolled. So i'm sure if we check the rest we will see you are wrong about those 82. It totally discredits your validity when you just make stuff up to prove a point. Now nothing you say can be taken serious because you are just lying and trying to make your self look good while talking about some one elses lively hood. Stay classy 82' HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
  16. Very few coaches have the ability to win right away. Even great coaches can struggle in their first year trying to get things the way they wanted. Nick Saban at Alabama and LSU struggled big time at both places the first year and then won national championships in both spots. Stump struggled in year one too, and then got it rolling. Give it a year or two and the brook will be getting into the playoffs.
  17. DA BROOK, is down. I think the titans should have been dedicating at least 25% of their time to looking at some of the stuff LaPorte does on offense. No need to give west brook much time cause your defense doesn't need to spend abunch of time on West Brook
  18. I truly believe that the constant blaming of coaches and officials has made it harder for kids to be coachable and to accept responsibility when they maybe don't play so well. You talk to people that didn't even start in high school that talk about trying to get a scholarship but the coaches wouldn't help him. People are delusional when it comes to self evaluation. Todays society for the most part always has a finger to point all the blame at, when most of the time the blame is usually of the one doing the pointing. If you do it then your kid does it and neither one of you know what you are talking about. JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY, OR SHUT UP AND CHEER.
  19. This will be an interesting game, I would like to see how Central's QB will play against this defense, dont think Central will have the defense to stop the potent ground attack of Vidor.
  20. The big Question is who will win between Hardin and Warren. That was quietly a really good game last year. Both teams are starving to get a W and they scrap for it.
  21. very well put, I think Newton will be the team in this district and maybe have a chance at state in the next few years, they have some great groups coming up
  22. I understand you have to be able to play football, but extra athletes that have extreme amounts of extra athletic ability always helps. No coach on earth would agree that those athletes wouldnt make a huge difference. If you get those 15-20 kids when they are freshman and coach them on how to play football for four years and now lets say just 5-6 of those super athletic kids become a super athletic football player, at the 2A level if you get 5-6 extra really athletic kids it changes your program from being like Hardin or Kountze to being like EC or Newton. It's all about numbers, thats why 5A's are better than 4A's. It's what coaching is all about taking a kid with potential and getting it out of him. Every coach that has came through Kountze in the past 10-15 I promise you has said man I would love to get some of those basketball players to play football.
  23. Terrible arguement, this is 2A high school football not the nfl. Those track athletes would definitely help when you have less than 400 students in the whole school. Ask any coach and they will tell you that a strong track program is good for any football team.
  24. They are a sleeping giant, maybe they wont make the playoffs this year in football, but they win district in basketball and track almost every year because they have a ton of great athletes. At a 2A school you have to get kids playing every sports to be succesful. If they accomplish that no one in the district can compare to the amount of athletes they have at Kountze beside Newton. They have tons of athletes every year and if they can get excitement in the football program and get those kids to play they will be hard to play with. That's why they are a sleeping giant not because of what there history or current team is but what it could be if they get the right people in charge, and it looks like they are on the right track.
