I dont believe the news paper, I belive the Texas Education Agency where they got their data from.

WOW!!! Ok first of all the information in the articles is accredited to the TEA which is ran by the texas state board of education. They are required by law to report back accurate data, # of students on govt assistance, test scores, and demographics. So the information comes from the TEA. Also political polls are based on opinion, i.e. who are you voting for. It's not statistical facts such as income, if you are registered with the TEA to recieve govt assistance and so on. I don't know how else to put it, the information comes from the state of texas education agency, not google or a news paper. It's not up for debate it's a fact.

So once again, Facts and Opinions, I am stating facts from things i have taken the initiative to research from accreditted sources and you are using the info that you thought up from your mobile palace in V-TOWN. Then again at the bottom of the article they list all of the references of this article. For those of you who dont understand this concept its called citation. In the educated world when we report data and formulate theories we use and educated perspective gathered from previous information, and then we reference this material used to prove its validity. We don't just say well I live in Vidor and MY OPINION is we have it worse than beaumont kids.

The data are compiled and reported by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  TEA defined students as “economically disadvantaged” if they receive free or reduced-price school lunches, or if they qualify for other public assistance. Sorry I didnt get back to your questions yesterday I have a job and what not. Its not the poverty line, its the percentage of students who recieve govt assistance because they qualify for assistance. If you only look at the citys income avg it doesnt reflect the students who actually go to the schools. Its not census data, It's data reported by TEA and other state education services.

How is the guy not getting the job done. They were pretty salty on D this year and they just made a deep deep deep playoff run the year before that and played great D. Not to mention the guys resume. Its public info that the govt is required to make available to the public, it's not hard to find.

Sure twocents just do what I did and do some research, proximityone is a website funded by the govt to report back school district demographic profiles. look up your school district and find the info you are looking for, then maybe your twocents will actually be worth something.

You will never get an established coach that has both at a beaumont school, because they dont pay and it's an inner city school district.

The subject is relevant because Ozen is concerned with cleaning up it's image and reputation due to recent events. So maybe they hired a man the exuded discipline and character instead of someone with a winning record. They need someone to be able to deal with kids who dont have an advantageous situation or structure at home.  So its not highjacking it's just a few people arguing opinions on a discussion board.

So people cant debate a social topic that is actually relevant to the school in the topic. I dont understand what is wrong with that. Also twocents they have these things called citations, and state and government associations that have to report accurate public information about state funded institutions such as school districts. So when you look at the information that the government gathers and reports yes it's kind of official.

And it's an open ended message board so people can elaborate on more than just coaches and programs.

I'm not talking about Vidors football team, Mathews is a hard worker and his kids reflect that, but this twocents guy is dumb and is playing right along with the general stereotypes people have come to associate with Vidor. It's not crap, it's just in response to some one being an idiot.

I think this isn't off topic really. Its something the new ozen coach will have to prepare for, and its an interesting topic, and its fun to see twocents prove every stereotype about Vidorians to be correct.

They are public schools so its public info. just google whatever school district you are interested on and google their demographics.

PAISD is at 85% under the poverty line and HISD is at 94% PNG is at 25% and Nederland is at 29%. So yes kids in inner city schools on average are far and beyond worse off than suburban kids. We are the idiots for arguing with the guy. How dumb can someone be?

Ok the percentage of students living economically disadvantaged in Vidor is 43%. BISD, (even including the westend kids who are well off) currently has 68% of its students living in poverty. So there are the facts Beaumont kids have it worse than Vidor kids. Its not debatable it's a statistical fact.

No It doesn't sound like a witch hunt. It sounds like he was on probation and broke a rule. If a normal person is put on probation they can't go in a casino, period. You cant use the excuse that everybody else did it too. Everybody else isn't on probation.
