I think they will wind up in the quarterfinals. They're that good. Franklin 52 EC 28.
I agree with you,Don't think EC defense can hold them of the entire game..Good Luck EC... :) ;)
Tuff game for EC,  Roberts better ball hard!
 2. Skinner- 6'0" 175- Soph.- 222 completions, 390 attempts, 3,384 yards, 46 touchdowns, 10 interceptions- One of the most wise young QB's you'll see, can put throws on the money alot of kids at 2A level can't. 8 touchdowns on the ground to go along with the passing numbers. Mitchell- 5'10" 185- Soph.- 77 catches, 1335 yards, 24 touchdowns- Had 6 catches for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. Very explosive- Can run with the best of them Brooks- 6'4" 180- Sr.- 40 catches, 743 yards, 8 touchdowns- Didn't play against Palmer- Utilized in different positions. Very unselfish kid, just wants to win. Brooks has also added 7 touchdowns on the ground. Teague ain't scared is what they said lol.

Newton beat Daingerfield 21-0 in '98 at Homer Bryce Stadium.
Newton was 3A that year...right
yup!
DII 3A    5th smallest 3A school in the state that year. Still took down the monsters, except West Orange Stark. I think that score was 7 to 6. Not for sure.
yea 10-0 WOS
 4. Newton 64-14
 5.

Unless something has changed Newton's coach said it would be Friday in Lufkin. 7 or 7:30. But this was last week.
Just got word that it will be at SFA in Nacogdoches instead of Lufkin.
Idk how this is true unless the game will be on Thursday... SFA fields are reserved for Friday and Saturday night by the college team.  It doesn't matter both places are like second homes to the eagles
 6. Coaches from palmer & Teague had already agreed to lufkin on Friday
 7. Winner plays next Friday in Lufkin vs Newton (they will be cashing reality checks by 8pm)
 8.

In the past Teague had some good size, but not much speed. Is this true this year? Newton has team speed. Different than than just one or two that can run. Farmer Fran what game did you see them play? Newton has been pretty consistent over the year, but some games has looked really, really good.
I went to the Buffalo game. They are very fast at the receiver positions. They have a bruising running back #34 William graham and another fast Rb # 11 John Love.
. Have U seen Newton play??
 9. So the players will probably outnumber fans on the woodville side.

 14. WOS by 20
 15.
Another question for Newton...I saw where a WOS poster listed stats for this years team compared to previous years. This years team has most points scored and least points allowed. So compared to state championship years it looks like they're on pace for another. Just curios as to how this Newton team ranks compared to the previous state championship years. I'm sure its close if not better. Anybody have any stats?
They play on the same level and have a lot of confidence like the 98,04,05 teams..  I think they are the most balanced I've ever seen Newton have, and Newton has never been this young and this good, but the main difference is the state champs in the past actually had a tough season schedule so can't really compare till a few playoff games..
 16. First round bye, playing till early fourth 74-14
 17.
I have a feeling this one will be a nail-biter. Should be very close, until kickoff. Maybe Newton will suit up their 8th grade, and give us the benefit of the doubt. REST YOUR STARTERS EAGLES.
No Newton wants state , starters staying in till late.
 18.

With the strength and quickness of our D line, I don't think the size is going to help a lot on Hardin's line. I too hope for a number of turf field games ahead. Newton 56 Hardin 0.
Go for a cool 70 +.  Then boost your state rankings....  Since that's what's most important..
so much envy,  must suck knowing your team probably never going to win state.
 19. Newton should go to there spread and throw every play in the first half, get ready for playoffs!
 20. Newton gets 2nd shut out of season. 54-0
 21.
Coach Alvarez has done an outstanding job.  I was at first not sure if this would be a good fit at Ennis, or if the kids would buy in after being a spread O, but I am sold.  This was a great fit.  Good luck to Ennis the rest of the year.
Ennis has always ran the spread, he actually changed it up when he git there... they won 4 4a state titles between 00-07.. that's place has some of the best Texas high school football fans you will ever see, and plenty of athletes to choose from.  (Gram Harrell former Tech Qb won a title there)
 22. Kirbyville Ragball Tournament . Allen Watson 423-0674 or 423-0898 Yvonne Day:)
