Newton won district but later got massacred in the playoffs by good Cameron Yoe team in the second round In 2011 WT Johnston took over. 2011 was the last time Newton lost a district game(EC 39-34) ..the loss had nothing to due with any injuries just got beat. 2013 Shorter got hurt in a game vs EC , Newton won that game 51-21 and later the district title .

watched the Woodville Trinity film . The game should’ve been tied at half but Trinity is Trinity . Woodville defense is really bad. On offense Babin is rarely under pressure, hasn’t been pressured much at all this season except for a little in the Orangefield game. Most of the completions are wide open or using sideline . Newton’s defensive backs will be the best Woodville has seen all year. Same with the Dline. A Dline that avg 5 sacks a game . Defense that forces an avg of 3 takeaways a game . .

Newton freshman QB Isaiah Foster is a beast , he threw for a combined 400 yards in the last two games 6 tds 0 int . Newton will definitely throw the ball in this game , they have been really balanced since Foster took over at QB . Using multiple WR since the Tatum game . If Woodville only focus is stopping one of the best running backs in Texas , KJ Porter , then expect Foster to torch the defense. If Woodville respect the pass then expect Porter to run for 250 . Woodville hasn’t really played anybody, this will be the best secondary Babin faces all year. I doubt he leaves without an interception. The speed of Of newton’s defense is gonna cause a lot of trouble for Babin, he wont be running for first downs, he be running for his life , he won’t have near as much time to find a Receivers.

New Diana probably see Newton in 3rd .. they are unbeaten, but the 6 teams they played got combined record of 10-29 .. they haven’t faced anyone with a winning record . Example Newton opponents have combined record of 30-14 combined , if Woodville can get past Grand Saline in 3rd than they will get Newton in qrts

Woodville doing their thing , but don’t hang your hat on Newton , remember 150 yards in penalties, 100 worth of chop blocks all against Newton , Bad snap on punt , I mean that was a horrible showing by Newton , I’d like to thank them for waking this team up … Newton played horrible and lost by one point to a good woodville team in the last seconds of the game , if the wr didn’t slip we wouldn’t even be have the topic . This is the best woodville has had in 25 years , thank Coach Lewis,been building up the team with those players for the last 3 years . Hopefully they can continue to build after they lose most of those guys this year, if not next year will be 78 - 0 Newton , kinda like that one year EC beat Newton and Newton put 84 on them the next year , I promise next season Newton will take Woodville serious , Newton will not be looking ahead to Jasper and WOS , like they did. It was a good loss for Newton but the win for Woodville seems to be swelling their ego a little , honestly right now , wont get out the 3rd round. If woodville was that good they should of beat newton by at least 14, if you look a mistakes , turnovers and penalties that Newton had going on all night, woodville one point win doesn’t look so great , I mean one point and one slip away from still losing by a touchdown. If the game was played next week I don’t see near the same outcome but we will just have to wait until next year .

I wouldn’t look to much into woodville game ,150 yard in penalties against Newton .. over half for chop block, then add in a bad snap on punt inside the 30. Newton came into game sluggish. perfect ingredients for failure. lost to a good woodville team by 1 point , from the 9 on 4th down , incomplete pass in the end zone with 10 seconds left in game.

Newton played terrible for second week in a row , good win woodville but I wouldn’t hang to much on that V , especially when Newton had 5 chop block Penalties . That’s rare in any game , but definitely happened . Newton also committed several penalties in key moments . The offense is terrible and the defense not much better … just backyard undisciplined football . Woodville had a good plan and Executed it well enough to get the W . Congrats

Looking like they decided to close the whole school for a week and instead of playing the games like some schools are still doing, they decided to shut down all extracurricular activities and follow the same Kville protocols that were activated just hours before this announcement .
