Hey, Rhino 1877 The boys have went into their little dribblers season and are doing prettttty good. They have had a practice game with a Beaumont team and a Hardin-Jefferson(Twin County) team so far. They have came out on top so far. Next week will be Bridge City and Hampshire-Fannett. Hope to keep up the winning streak, but if not these boys are getting good competition, and are having fun!!!!

spurger was up by over 20 in the third quarter , so they put there subs in and the final ended up being 49 to 33 spurgers favor. Then they played evadale for the championship game and beat them 57 to 24. The Spurger boys ended up not losing a game in their season, actually this group of boys hadn't lost a game as 7th graders or 8th graders and has placed 1st in every school tournament entered. They have started their final year in little dribblers basketball. On February 24, they played their first game against Beaumont marshall middle school little dribblers team and the ended up beating them by 14 the final was spurger 60 beumont 46. These boys have been contacted by the following schools for practice games; Bridge City, Orangefield, Hardin-Jefferson, and Hampshire-Fannett. The Beaumont game gave them such a better game than they have played in the last 2 years and this will get them ready for their regional little dribblers tournament March 14 to 17 in Evadale.

The team invited a beaumont team for a game on Sat. 2-24-07. This was a great game. The Spurger boys hadn't seen this kind of compitition all year in school ball. They had finished their J.H. season undefeated, two 1st place tournaments, and out of 13 games scored a total of 786 points to their opponents 273 points. The final for Spurger L.D. senior boys all-star team vs. Beaumont L.D. senior boys all-star team was a final Spurger 60-Beaumont 46. They made plans to play in Beaumont for another game. Whittaker 23 points, 19 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, McGallion 7 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, Rawls 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, Anderson 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists, Saulsbury 3 points. The boys are making plans to play Bridge City, Twin County, and also hope to get to play in a Orangefield tournament before going to the Regional Tournament on March 14 in Evadale.
