1. BWB won't have to worry too much about 3 or 4 different backs and styles. DP has a very talented RB, but thin after that at the position. BWB needs fan support big-time. BWB needs to stretch the field to have a chance. Quick scores. Use speed to get behind the D. I--personally--haven't seen DP yet this year. But, I'd expect them to win the majority of the time in line play from being at the BWB game last Sat. and knowing DP's tendencies and history. JMO

anybody wanna go into details on this debacle?
Details: LP is down to only 2 OL & 1 TE out now. Bye Week is good timing this week.  ;)
Bring your gas mask week 10. were burning marshes.  :D
;)
Seriously, BWB seemed to want to try a lot of passes to the flats. Won't work against LP. Couldn't get the edge on runs. Couldn't get anything inside. Spearman made a couple good catches as I recall, but was taken away most of the night. BWB D was being pushed around pretty good. LP needs to clean up some play. I think they had over 100 yds. in penalties and still over 500 in offense. Starters pulled after 3.

Teams may want to rethink stacking 8-9 in the box against LP.
The problem is, Spearman is the only WR Clack is allowed to throw to. All the other receivers are just used as decoys. It's not hard to figure out who the ball is being thrown to. Hence, it isn't hard to figure out who to double team, thus taking away any real passing threat. It's a shame, really, because there are some othere really good receivers on the team that wont see a pass thrown to them. This just from my own observation.
That is a shame. Not anything against Spearman--he has talent. Good routes. Good hands. Passes to flats may be more successful against DP, BS, CV. I don't see them working against PAM or NS. I'd try to stretch the field more...
I will say last night was the first game LP had their entire D back.

its not like theyre in a power heavy district, Cinco Ranch will maybe give them a close game, they should blowout the rest.
Hell and North Shore beat the crap out of Cinco Ranch. I just hope that this year Katy goes Divsion 1 like they should anytime a school with that enrollment makes the playoff. Hay the rules are the rules though.
Well...Katy is there are 4 schools in Katy's district that are larger than theirs....pretty sure they don't make the rules....enrollment numbers don't matter...it's participation numbers. I've seen Schools almost twice the size as Katy with fewer that 50 kids on varsity. North Shore also beat the crap out of Clear Springs...who beat the crap out of LP......
Not a Katy fan, but technically...Klein,Alief Taylor, Woodlands, Morton ranch.....are all D1 teams...For what it's worth.
I'm not a comparison A beats B who beats C, who loses to A kinda' guy. I like to look at execution of each specific team. Right now, Katy and NS are executing very well within their own styles. Katy has an easier district schedule--to me--than NS. But, NS may have the easier road in D1R3 than Katy. D2R3--this year--seems like it very well may be more loaded with quality teams in each round.
Agreed, but a lot of people love that irrelevant formula. Right now, the greater houston area is a crap shoot with only Katy and North Shore standing out like you said.... Katy seems to be a lock for D2, would love to see them against North Shore again. Cinco Ranch is a pretty decent team and people forget they were with out 5 starters, all captians by the way vs North Shore...RB Jamel James and QB Cole Thomas as well....I still think North Shore wins that game, but more than likely not a blow out......Katy's depth this year is crazy
Katy is deep at RB, TE, DL, and LB. An argument could be made they're 3 deep at QB. Depth in secondary, OL is light. WR position is non-existant right now. Kicking game is MUCH improved.  ;)
With the way they are running the ball now...they dont need kickers or WR's lol Depth shouldnt be an issue with all games being over at halftime and lots of players getting playing time. I saw something on Twitter saying that in 3 of their 4 games this year...every kid that suited up played....that's crazy considering that the 4 teams they played are probably playoff teams
You know that will come to an end. Probably not in 19-5A, but PO's. Keep those OL healthy. LP's been without 3-4 all season. Makes a person who doesn't really know the game appreciate what they do...
For those of us that know the game, we know it's a killer to any O.

WB is averaging just over 310 yards a game, this season. That really doesn't say much for a nascar-style offense thats suppose to be able to score at will. But it has also been hit and miss, with this offense so far. If they can keep some drives alive, score a few points, and keep the defense from getting worn out by the 3rd quarter, then I think the Bruins can sneak away with one. Hopefully, the extra week off will put them ahead of LP in preparation, and it will show on the field.
This--to me--is the age old question. Is it better to have the extra week off, or is it better to continue when getting into sync? LP got a big lead on BS and was able to take the foot off the gas early.
in this district, hard to say lol...i mean take PAM for example. it would be nice to have a bye before NS to  heal any injuries, but if you are in a rhythm and things are clicking then you want to keep playing.
21-5A is a very solid district. I still expect a tiebreaker scenario for PO position.

We the Titans are and will be fine. DP found something that worked and did what they were suppose to do, run it till we stop it. Guess what we didn't. I think the injury on the opening kick-off of the second half ( a DP player hanging broken leg in front of our bench) had a lot to do with it. That was freaky looking!!!!!!!!!  Believe it or not we all lost focus fans and players. We just need to maintain our composure and focus the entire game. This was a good learning experince for everyone including us the fans.
i agree goat with not focusing, but an injury, unless it was a near death experience, shouldn't stop you from focusing. sorry i couldn't be there last night...sounds like to me,we were prepared for DP to pass the whole night due to they were a passing offense, but they ran and we never adjusted. they seemed to adjust to the swing passes and option plays. they seem to not have done well with the zone read and that's when we were successful.
DP isn't a "passing offense" and never has been. Their head coach is the former OC from Katy. DP runs a balanced O and takes what they're given--run or pass. They've got a great staff that makes halftime adjustments like few others. If they had a little more speed, they'd be deadly. Especially, with 4,000 enrollment.
in the pregame report, this years DP team likes to pass the ball alot. from the panews-The Deer have the most passing yards of any team in 21-5A this season, but have just the fifth-best offense by average yards per game. The Deer are averaging 322 yards per game.
Did you ever stop to think they're doing that to work in their first year starting QB for 215 play in games that mean nothing? I believe PAM met their RB...
Sorry, LP learned long ago never to underestimate the Deer. Their coaching makes up for a lot of talent issues. If PAM hadn't converted on the fake punt, it well could have been a different outcome.
DP had some plays go there way. The they got was well flukish, Fisk made the right read and made a good throw to a wide open receiver in the middle  of the field, the only problem is that it bounced off  the back of a Dp defenders helment straight into the air then was intercepted.  What bothers me more is B. Laday dropping balls all over the field. I'm moving Lott up to varsity, and moving Labrie to wideout. Laday is avereging four wide open drops a game!!!!!!!  I love the way we played the first half. We just need to finish!!!!!
What would bother me more is a running back that PAM knew was going to get the ball gained 10+ yards per carry, gained over 230 yards total and had 3 TD's. PAM has NS & LP on the schedule still.

I don't think this is bad on PAM. I think it's an underestimation of DP. They've had little PO success in recent years, but they've been playing 21-5A and NS a lot in the first round.

  12. Word on the street is that LP will begin to get some starters back for the Bruins. Still, Westbrook has 2 weeks to prepare, and LP will be playing at Beaumont and working starters back in. I'm assuming it will take LP some time to remesh. The Bruins are talented enough to take this one with a fast-paced attack and wear on LP starters who haven't had game time this year. Of course, LP now has some depth that it hasn't had before because of necessity...
    Should be an interesting game.
  13. LP looked totally overmatched against CS. I was really impressed with Cripps (QB) who played multiple spots and all well. Was a little fearful when CS had him running, and taking some hits, but he's a good-sized young man. I think he came out healthy. CS had a little #10 RB who would also line up for Wildcat. Young man had VERY good speed and elusiveness. Most impressive player to me--even ahead of Cripps.

CS played 8-9 in the box all night and LP had no answer. LP appeared to be playing a 335 for some reason. Not a typical D for LP. In addition, LP secondary was playing at least 10-15 yards off the ball. CS took big-time advantage and made the plays.

Right now, a Medicine Man is needed big-time in LP. Not sure LP has enough players to field a team next week. Already had 7 out. Lost another DE & starting QB.

It's gonna' be a rough year.

I guess I should add I've never had any issues with BG. He hasn't stooped to personal attacks in the same manner. His posts are in fun, and are directed at other adults. Not inflammatory insinuations against kids.
