DC ranked or not! If and I mean if there is ever a day PAM is classified 4A the whole complex of this board will change.  PAM is head and shoulders above most 5A teams D1 & D2 and will punish the surrounding 4A teams for years to come.  I'm sorry, no other way to say it! I say that because Manvel played a few (at the time) top level SETX teams in playoffs prior to leaving 4A being Dayton and PNG in the playoffs... and that game with PAM was a whole different animal.  No comparison between level of competition!
Ummm...PAM can't even win 21-5A and is usually fighting for the last PO spot.  Let's just keep things in perspective. :o ;D :P

LP's kinda low don't ya think?  Their whole squad is returning.....
I didnt even notice them at #23 on first glance, I dont think they go thru district without 1 or 2 losses this yr, BUT they have one proven RB back, their QB is a smart one and have made changes to their offense (more passing) per LP folks. They will be stout on D again also (until Week-10). They will be good but not nearly as good as the previous 2 years IMO.
I think DCTF is giving a little love since LP has consistently been in the last 16 teams playing in 5A. The OL will tell the tale. I expect LP to lose a game or 2 early as they mesh a new OL and new offensive wrinkles. They also lost Medina (K). But, plenty of skill players return. D will be fine  ;). Last bolded--could be much better if they can sync. I like the new OC's style from what I've been able to see so far. If he can make the scheme work at Pas. Memorial like he has been able to with their talent, I like LP's chances.
 3.
Summer Creeks numers were 2085 last year. Looks like they'll fit in just nicely with 21-5A 21-5A  Dist.    Ovr.  Team (ADA) W L                W L Baytown Sterling (2440) 0 0 0 0 Beaumont West Brook (2327) 0 0 0 0 Channelview (2331) 0 0 0 0 Deer Park (3917) 0 0 0 0 Galena Park North Shore (4601)      0 0 0 0 La Porte (2185) 0 0 0 0 Port Arthur Memorial (2270) 0 0 0 0
21-5A can always use another team fighting it out for 4th.
 4. Personally, I worry if an offensive player or squad plays really well in the spring game. Congrats to the player. But, it doesn't bode well.
 5.

I am at a loss BG.  I am not trying to take anything away from the other schools in the district with this comment but, I don't buy it that other schools have better a pool of athletes.  There are athletes in Baytown.  For whatever reason, they get to high school and start getting left behind by the likes of PAM, NS, LP, WB, etc.  The only thing I can think of would be work ethic as being the difference. I know it is more than just having a good coach, but also the players and parents that have to make it a priority.  I heard a quote one time that said something like "the role of a coach is to get players to do what they don't want to do in order to become the player they've always dreamed of being."  I think it was Lombardi but am not sure.  We have some skill players but some think they just show up without putting in the time to train.  And how do you get the big boys out of the halls?  Maybe the moon and stars have to align just right for the right group of boys to come through that excels in spite of the poor work ethic or maybe it is finding "that" coach that is a lightning rod of change.
you partially right (in bold). there's athletes in Baytown, just not alot at RSS like other schools in 21-5A at the moment. DP doesnt have an abundance of athletes but they make up for it with their coaching staff.  ;)
Take Deer Park HS, divide it into 3 schools. Now let's see them make up for it with their coaching. Compare apple's to apple's.
La Porte says hello. Of course, that's not really apples to apples either, is it? La Porte would be the mini apple.

For having way over 3k kids DP is never more than decent. I think WB gets in this year over either DP or La Porte.
Deer Park out-executes everybody in the district IMO (i saw 2 of their district games versus LP & NS) and should have beaten the top 3 teams this past season. La Porte lost Whitely: correct, but they return Lewis who a bit smaller but faster and quicker than Whitely, return their QB as well and will have the best D in the district more than likely. WB best bet for a win next season versus the top 4 teams in the district is against NS and that is only if the NS OC allows it. They aint beating PAM or LP this year thats for sure.  8)
Which is the only reason they usually make the playoffs. Massey is a good coach but he also has nearly 4000 kids to choose from. When is a last time DP made a run? With that type of enrollment they should be North Shore's rival, instead they're NS's toy. Like you said though, they execute extremely well but for some reason much like BH in 19-4a they just don't seam to have the horses to consistently compete when they're not senior heavy. I also think there could be 2 three loss teams that get into the playoffs. One thing that's for sure is once Flannigan gets the offense installed WB is going to score points, everything else is up in the air but they will be explosive on offense. He's going to get a lot of kids scholarships on the offensive side of the ball if he hangs around long enough.
What are you smoking again? This is simply delusional. Do you see spiders? Are you hungry? What?  ;)
Deer Park got in with four losses last year. Simple math Ol Dawg, or better yet maybe it's a new trick. I assume you think DP is getting into the playoffs right? What 6 teams are they going to beat in the district? Say they beat 5 teams in the district, that gives LP, NS or PAM a loss before they play the other two teams. One thing is for sure, at least one team with three losses is getting in and if WB wins a couple more district games this year and you get an undefeated district champ there could very well be two three loss teams get in. Don't go getting all excited and knocking your water out of the bowl before you think about it now.
My simple math tells me DP got in the PO's in 2012 with a 3-3 District record as the 4th place team. It would be close to impossible for two 3-loss teams to make the PO's in a 7 team 21-5A District.
 7. C. Taylor is used to not having the best "athletes" on the field. Just ask NS and PAM.

 9.
I've been saying it since day 1.  GREAT hire by Liberty!!  Now, lets see if the kids respond.
Not just the kids. The community. Good Luck Coach!

Channelview 3. Sterling 4. PAM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. La Porte 6. West Brook 7. North Shore :P
^^^ thats a joke btw. my prediction is 1. PAM 2. LP 3. NS 4. Channelview 5. Deer Park 6. WB 7. Sterling
DP, NS, & LP have returning QB's. NS & LP return proven RB's. NS & LP return typically sound D's. NS, DP, LP, PAM, WB, CV, BS. It will take LP some time to gel. They also travel to GPISD & Abshier in 2013. DP and NS owe LP. Both have LP at their home stadiums. This may be the year. PAM & WB are at Bulldog Stadium. Wouldn't be surprised at multiple tiebreakers. All said with very little insight into WB at this time. Quiet in BISD...
 11.
If they bring the salary and allow him to upgrade facilities, I feel it is a lock.  Those are the two things he needs to be hammering in negotiations,.
La Porte to Liberty is about 40 minutes. The only way it's a lock is if he wants to put his own stamp on a program. He has support, salary, 5A recognition at LP. I'm not saying plus or minus one way or the other. I will say--as an analogy--I'm opening a new engineering office in the Sulphur/Lake Charles area. I can beat any compensation (bennies and pay) that are currently offered. I'm finding it difficult due to uncertainties with our current fiscal/medical situation as promoted by the Federal Government. Many are leery to make a major move right now... I feel it will take a major commitment by Liberty and a long-term arrangement. Just my thoughts. Geting closer to family is one thing. Salary/benefits/longevity is an entirely different matter. Especially when we're discussing 40 minutes.
 12. Great coach. All foes get ready for some serious misdirection offense. Don't expect many passes. Expect a pound game with a seriously confused opponent D.
You are right.  There is an "if".  Taylor let it be known last year that he was not leaving LP for peanuts.  Him not being in Hardin came down to dollars. Liberty needs to pony up.
He's got a great gig at LP. Good money. Close to home. PO's pretty much every year with a chance to go very far any given year. Hometown mystique and nostalgia only goes so far. Risk/Reward scenario.
 13. IF Taylor takes the job, congrats to him and Liberty. Great coach. All foes get ready for some serious misdirection offense. Don't expect many passes. Expect a pound game with a seriously confused opponent D.
 14. Fairly sure La Porte will be okay. Regardless of possible coaching changes. The basic system and tradition will remain. Just need to continue to take the next step and build off it.
 15.
I've seen conflicting dates and times of when the La Porte game is.  Can someone confirm date, time & location?
Saturday, 11/24, 2 pm, the Rig (Pearland). LP is Home Side.
 16. PAM needs to win this game where 21-5A can send the best rep's forward in the PO's. If WB pulls the upset, Week 10 games will be nailbiters for PAM, DP & WB.
 17. Could have a show over near La Porte land. I know, I know...we're not SETX and we're not really Houston either...People would show up though. That, I could pretty much guarantee! Thx for addressing my question also. Enjoyed the show. Heard Scooter crawfishin'. Not sure yet, huh? lol
 18. 21-5A: PO teams are fairly set. Divisions are fairly set. Order isn't. I could easily see all having at least 1 loss after week 10. Thoughts? DP/LP rivalry--pick 'em, but LP has deep threat now and team back. QB has 12 TD passes & 2 running TD's in basically 5 games. Common stats vs. BWB favor LP big time defensively. NS/LP--LP actually matches up better against NS in interior D than PAM. NS pass game not that big of a threat deep. NS will need to try to get the edge. PAM/LP--Fisk can chew LP's secondary up if given time. Like him!!! PAM run game will be a no go. LP has multiple running threats. LP also has a kicker that can change the game, and a QB that can throw. Stacking 9 may be questionable this year. DP/NS--DP has historically played NS tough. PO game went to OT at Abshier I believe.
 19. I didn't think the post game stuff was a big deal. Typically, teams form a line and shake hands immediately. In this case, PAM gathered together first, then walked out to shake hands. It was only about 2-3 minutes. NS fans started booing immediately. I chalk it up to a rivalry game and homecoming for NS. High emotions.
 20. Game went about as expected. Even after mentioning "don't kick long to #2", PAM seemed to want to do it anyway. Oh well. I'm not a coach. I'm sure they know more than me. Interesting that the best rushing play for either team was the broken play/QB scramble. Very entertaining game!
 21. Good job RSS. Figured "The Streak" would end this game, this year. Also mentioned it would be a nailbiter. OT would seem to count.
 22. Do any Bruin fans use Friday Night Rivals and update scores?
 23. BWB won't have to worry too much about 3 or 4 different backs and styles. DP has a very talented RB, but thin after that at the position. BWB needs fan support big-time. BWB needs to stretch the field to have a chance. Quick scores. Use speed to get behind the D. I--personally--haven't seen DP yet this year. But, I'd expect them to win the majority of the time in line play from being at the BWB game last Sat. and knowing DP's tendencies and history. JMO
 24.
Will the streak end vs Channelview or will RSS be looking at 2013 for a win?
I've said Sterling in this game, this year, since before the season started. I'm sticking to it. Might be a nail-biter though.
