  1. Unless I misunderstood, the next play had not been snapped. From what i understand about the scenario the officials discovered this between the plays and therefore the previous play can still be penalized. If the ball had been snapped again, then yes, all you can say as an official is"I apologize for the mistake" and then the coaches go bananas!!

  2. All 3 teams from BMT will get into the playoffs. WB at the 3 or 4 spot , Central will win their district, (lets admit, it is weak) and Ozen will get in too, Suggs will keep pounding the rock and it will work against teams like Lumberton, Lee, Vidor and the other soft teams in that district. I think Central can make a deep run if they can make it past the 0-3 start they are going to experience.

  3. I once was a football official. The refs should have thrown the flag before the ball was snapped and save the team a 15 yard penalty and make it a 5 yard penalty instead for " breaking the huddle with 12". However, once the the ball has been snapped and you do play with 12 it should then be a 15 yard penalty. Officials try to save the team from a 15 harder but sometimes it happens. ....And yes if they do not notice it till after the play is should go back to the previous spot if it is against the offense and a 15 yard penalty should be issued. If it is against the defense then it is a spot foul or from the original line of scrimmage if there was a loss on the play.

  4. I am confused, wasn't Centrals final record 5-6 for the year, with a loss to 3A WOS who they took off the schedule? West Brook was 6-4 if I remember correctly. ... I don't understand the negativity some programs get, it is forgotten that their are kids who are playing and if you wish negative on the staff you are also wishing negative on the kids. Now I get you want a new staff because it is "good for the kids" but I think all 3 Beaumont programs have done a good job getting their kids to the next level.

A lot of coaching consistency in those top 5 teams.  I know Lake Travis is a fairly young school but I think they are still on their first AD.  I know the Katy AD has been there a long time, NS's HD has been there 18 years and Brenham's has been there at least 10.

Lake Travis was founded in 1982. The coach that started the run is now the HC at Duncanville. The coach that followed (Chad Morris)  is now the OC at Clemson. They have high turnover because people get better jobs.

The other MLB players were Cody Strait-Reds, ?? Richey-Mets, Tim Erickson-Mets, Jeff Moye-Rangers, other college players, Brent Carney-Angelina, Arron Trest-?, Nate Jordan ?, Tommy Roebuck-NE Tex/Lamar and a cpl more I can't think of now. The PONY field HJ plays on today was suposed to used just untill they got the lights for the school field, OR thats what was said in >>>97, the rock is still there as someone spoke of...

Do we really want to count Minors as pro ball? They don't make any money and there arent minors in football, so it skews the argument a bit. I say that, because you say a guys name and then put a team he never suited up for next to it. Just because some one was in the farm system for a certain team doesnt mean he played for them.
  7. They never lost to SFA and that was with the kid that played at LSU( good player, played with the Patriots), whose names has slipped my mind.
I think they made the playoffs one year after Coach Fischer left, but in coaching, the year after counts as the previous coaches year, at least where I am from. Since then H-J has not been back. They won district with him there too.
  8. There have been many students in the past that were offered football scholarships but didnt have the grades and could not get the SAT scores to get in. Josh Williams played at Arkansas State and was a freshman All-American at Linebacker (before he quit his senior year) . Many have forgotten the history of the Pat Fischer era.

HJ needs to hire TROY ESPRIT. This guy is a is the best candidate. Guarantee Troy will get the kids that can really ball off the streets and on the field. Hj's better player are in the stands or at BISD football game...lol- Hire Spree if you want to win now. They probably wont because they have Never had a Black football coach, Assistant or Head. You have to get the stronger minority kids from Cheek, China, Nome, and Sour Lake to play. Not just the rich kids from Pinewood.

I don't think the color of the skin of the football coach has anything to do with certain students participating in football at HJ. It has more to do with the work ethics of certain idividuals who felt that certain positions should be handed to them, that in no way should thay be made to compete with other athletes for these positions.

To make a statement that a certain person wouldn't get the job due to the color of his skin is what makes these topics turn ugly and end up having to have the admins lock them. Just keep your race-baiting comments to yourself.
    [/quote]Hire Troy Esprit!!

Does Esprit have his teaching certification? Just asking, that is required by the state, not unless he would want to get paid aid pay and be the head coach. He would make around $20k that way.Not sure if anyone would do that.
