  1. Where did Coach Colton call out or say anything about Coach Franklin's children.  He said that he knew Chase, because he has coached against him, and said that he was a good ball player.  BringthePain must be someone that Coach Colton has probably let go as a coach from a previous staff.  I have known Paul Colton for a long time, and know that he cares for the kids that he coaches, and wants nothing but the best for them.  Could it be also that Fightingfitzpatricks is also BringthePain with another screen name, because I have a feeling that Bring has a few screen names and is also a coach.
  2. Congrats to the BUCS for making it to State in those events.  I'll be there to watch the show.  Might have to dig out some of my old EC gear and wear it.
  3. Its easy to win at the 1A level with 3 guys that all signed with TCU out of high school.  I have respect for the HD program, having played and coached against them, but they dang sure don't have that type of talent running around Hull, Daisetta, or Raywood.
  4. Where is Thib at these days?  It's been a while since I've heard from him, and I want to catch up with an old friend.
  5. I know of one coach that applied for it.
  6. I'm hearing that High Island will not field a baseball team this year.  Sad days when you can't get enough kids out to play baseball.
  7. Would any coach on here have the material to study for taking the SS Composite?  I have History 8-12 Certification, but that just limits me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  PM me with any information.  Thanks.
  8. John Snelson was named Head man.  Congrats coach Snelson.
  9. How big of a scam are hiring firms?  Sounds to me that if they don't know you, then you have no chance of being chosen.  I heard one of the guys from a firm speak and he name dropped Dennis Parker. Yeah thats a good one to name drop, seeing how he was just fired for lying on his resume.  And guess what, our school hired that firm to find a new AD/Head Coach!!!!
  10. I played for Coach Evans and loved every minute of it, but to say that EC has been in the playoffs for 17 straight years because of him is idiotic.  Coach E has been gone for almost 10 years and EC has still made the playoffs.  I was lucky enough to have him for a mentor and he has helped me to become a better coach through my years, just by modeling the way that he coached us.  I was a field house rat that would hang around and try to pick up as much as possible from Coach Evans, East, Koch, Todd Sutherland, and Uncle Joe.  Maybe Tatum should be saying the same thing.  They are in the playoffs because of EC's old coach.  Good Luck to both teams.  I know there will be classy football played on the field by both sides, and like I said earlier, the winner controls their own Destiny.
  11. Just like EC was not suppose to make the playoffs much less win district.  You can never underestimate the heart of a champion.  Good Luck Bucs.  I graduated from there in 1998, and played for Coach Evans.  Its tough for me to be able to watch this game.  I'll just say whoever wins will have their own destiny in their hands.
  12. Just saw on TASA that Colmesneil was open?  I know a coach from out in West Texas that would like to come home to SETX and take the helm in Bulldog Country.
  13. The numbers do not get any better for the Cards.  The under classes have fewer and fewer kids in each one.
  14. BUCfan we are on the same page here.  I think you might have mis-interpreted the way it was written.  I have seen seniors that do not play sports at all their first 3 years, want to come out their senior year so they can be on Varsity.  Also BUCfan, you know who I am.  You watched me play sports in HS and coach at my previous school.
  15. There is no rule from the UIL about a senior on Junior Varsity.  IF the kid has not done anything in your program the first 3 years of high school, dang straight put him on JV.  I know of a few kids that have done this just to get a jacket.  Is that fair to those kids that have busted their butts for 4 years, or even the JV guys that have been there the whole time, to see a senior just get placed on Varsity, just because he is a senior?  I don't think so.  They should have to do the work to get a varsity spot.
