As far as Obama is concerned, he can't win in this situation. No matter what he does he will be chastised by one side or the other, so he needs to just step up and take control and act to help the people that are being tortured, murdered, and raped by these lowlife scum. Wipe them out and send a message. Don't try to be political! Don't try to negotiate with them, and don't turn this into a war! Use our overwhelming military power to crush them in one fell swoop and be done! No warning, no negotiating, just get it done.

I would personally like to see a team of Navy Seals dragging out the little punk ISIS guy that the news keeps showing telling how they embarrased our military and will do it again. After that I say we use any of the leftover ordinance we still have from any past wars. This is a particularly disgusting group of terrorists, and if everyone of them parishes in a bombing run would be fine with me. Wipe this group completely off the map and maybe, just maybe the next bunch of crap will think twice about starting this kind of mess. No quarter, no surrender, no prisoners! The info was just to give background and prove that people are using the system to be lazy when they are capable of working. There have been some posts saying the only people receiving welfare are unable to care for themselves and we are cruel to say they shouldn't get free stuff. Let's just say this is a very small town and my wife is kin to almost everybody here. The two boyfriends walk down the road in front of my house at least three times a day to get to the crack house down the road.

Has 2 kids with 2 different women. Was married to the second one, but not the first. They are since divorced. He is my brother-in-laws best friend. His mother and father got divorced when he was young. He lived with mom, wanted to be a bull rider, but got hurt one time and never worth a crap after that. Mom dies while he is in high school. Leaves him a house and 8 acres of land, paid for, free and clear. His uncle puts aside a college fund for him. He never used it. Gets out of high school and gets a job doing metal construction for a few years. Has one kid with one lady. Then a couple years later gets married to a different lady and they have a kid. Soon after, he gets laid off. That was about 9 years ago. Last job he has had for more than a few days. He gets a divorce, and shacks up with a crack head in mom's house. Now, in the last nine years, he has been in jail for any amount of stupid things, gets a job from people that knew his mom and feel sorry for him. Never lasts more than a week without quitting or not showing back up. He has been on welfare on and off the entire time. Electrictricity and water have been shut off numerous times for non-payment. His mom's family, my wife's family, and other friends always have to pay to have them turned back on.. The house is down to one livable room, and there are several pieces of trucks in the yard that are barely visible above the grass. He has never paid a dollar in child support to help either of his children. He has lived the last 9 years off of welfare and what other people have given him. He is now 40 years old, and will not support himself or his children.

This question is the very reason that our country is in the political turmoil and economic mess it is in! You are 100% right about republicans. Yet, I would argue Democrats have the exact same problem. They just want to control different things than the republicans. Both groups think they are the only ones who are smart enough to tell other people what to do and how to do it.

I think hoops and bama have about covered the gay marriage and abortion part of this in a way that I agree with and can't add much to. As far as prostitution, according to my understanding of my religion is wrong, but similar to gay marriage, it is not my place to judge what other people do. As long as both parties are legally consenting, and the prostitute is not victimized by a pimp or some other entity that is controlling him/her then I think it should not be illegal, and also should not be regulated by the government other than for sex slaves or children being forced into it. Drugs should be legalized, but should not be an excuse or immunity to prosecution for other crimes. If you are high and commit a crime, then you cannot claim you were not in control because of the drug use. Just like smoking tobacco, everyone knows what the risks are with using a currently illegal drug. If you make that choice, then you are responsible for what happens after. Get addicted and lose your job, sucks for you. Overdose and die, sure hate to hear it. It is time for people to be responsible for themselves and make their own decisions. We just have to be prepared for the consequences that come with those decisions.

The price of birth control has nothing to do with the number of dead beat parents. Birth control is very cheap even if Sandra Fluke who is very well off financially claims she cannot afford it. Not to mention, the amount of welfare you receive is tied to the number of dependents, so in effect we are paying them to have children. So for the people that are earning a living off of welfare, they would not be willing to use the birth control even if it was free.

Most college admissions offices take other things into account besides just grades and test scores. You have to meet certain standards, but after that they look at things like community service, how active the student was in activities, the dedication and habits of the kid, so if the black kid had to work harder for the same things, hopefully it will show up in this part of the admissions process. Same senario, but what if the two students were reversed with a rich black kid and poor white kid? What if both kids are black? Or, both kids are white? Should the school pass over a good hard working black kid to let in a inner city black kid because he came from a worse school?

I just stopped at the grocery store on my way home from work. I was on line behind a lady I know from town. She lives in the government assistance apartments in town. She is about 40 years old, and is healthy enough to walk around town all day. She has her three daughters and the two older girls' boyfriends living with her. Both boys and the oldest girl have graduated high school. The middle girl quit school last year. None of these 5 healthy adults has a job other than the two boyfriends sell drugs around town. The six of them just loaded up on groceries on their ebt card. I couldn't see the total, but it was a cart topped off full of groceries. Other than the youngest girl who is about 10 years old, can someone please explain to me why this bunch should be receiving any form of welfare? As far as I'm concerned, they can get off their butts and get a job. The word of the day is job. JOB Oh, by the way before you go all racist on me, they are all privileged white people. Maybe I should send them to work with big girl. They could probably be a supervisor or something!

There are enough people abusing the system to ruin it for the ones who truly need it. I know There are people who work 2 or 3 jobs to try to make enough just to survive and provide basic needs for their family. These people legitimately need help, and as a society we should make sure they get it. At this point in time though, the majority of people around here that I see using some form of government assistance is because of messed up priorities, laziness, or greed. A lot of it is pure greed. If they can get something for free instead of paying for a similar item, they will take the handout and use their money for beer, weed, tobacco, cable tv, or other nonessential items. When food stamps were still in dollar increments, they would send kids in over and over to spend a $1 stamp on a cheap item and would get change back. Then they could use the money to buy something not covered by the stamps. There are still people around here eating MRE'S from hurricane Ike because they kept going back through the handout line over and over. They didn't need the food to survive, just greedy. There was a lady here in town that would use wic to load up on milk, and then have to pour it out after it spoiled. She wouldn't even give it away, too greedy.

I have an aunt that went to prairie view as a minority (white person) and got a full scholarship. I don't have a problem with a school recruiting any type of qualified minority student and offering scholarships to entice them to go there and increase diversity. But, the admission standards shouldn't be lowered or a more qualified applicant shouldn't be passed up just on the basis of any type of minority status. Everyone should be treated equally based on their abilities and proven efforts.

It may be a part of the problem, but there are many more issues that have caused a downturn in the number of father/mother combination households. A change in priorities. Both men and women are more likely to put other things before family. Money, drugs, sex, fun, and freedom have made people decide they didn't want a marriage. Some divorced, some never married. It has become more acceptable for a single woman to be pregnant. When Murphy Brown got pregnant there was a large cry for the show to be cancelled. When Rachel on Friends got pregnant there was very little said about it. Men have decided it is better to spread their seed with multiple women and then leave it up to the woman to care for the children. I know several guys who had 3 babies born to 3 different mothers in the same year. After they get te woman pregnant, they are gone again and out having fun. I know a lesbian couple that adopted a child. I am very close friends with one of the ladies brothers. That child has two parents who love him and care for him. He is better off than a lot of kids whose daddy is out drinking or using drugs or is just gone. This kid is still young, and later in life he may have a harder time, but for now he is a heck of a baseball player and a good well mannered kid. His uncle and I have talked a couple of times about it and wonder if he realizes he is the only black kid in school with two white mommies and no daddy.

Had she been there longer? Was she the bosses daughter? Was she sleeping with the boss? Is the only reason she was in charge because she is white? I had a black lady who was our boss even though I have a master's degree and she only had a bachelor's degree. I worked for the place longer than her, and have more overall experience. She didn't know anything, hence nobody respected her. She lasted one year and was moved to a different department. Probably because the black lady that hired her was racist against her.

Should a white person get in to Prairie View or other historically black colleges with lower scores than a black person to even it out?

The best candidate should get the job/scholarship/acceptance! Race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, nickname, or hair style should not matter!

There are a lot of similarities, but I wouldn't say they are the same. They both hate Jewish people, but the Muslims include Christians and other religions in their hatred. The Nazis didn't base their hatred on religion, so much as their ideal image of themselves. Anyone different from them, blacks, Catholics, etc were on their list.
