This wasn't our best game due to turnovers. Yes, La Marque is a very good team and had something to do with that.
didnt know yall had a few turnovers, i stand corrected.  8)
If I'm no mistaken La Marque had a few turn overs as well. The ball was snapped over the punters head twice one directly resulting in a Navasota TD in the Endzone and the other also resulted in a TD after a short drive. Both teams played great defense. Navasota won the turn over battle. There was also a TD called back for La Marque, after a long TD run by the QB. As for the way the players acted, I hate to bust everyone bubble but both teams we swinging that night. In fact a Personal Foul on Navasota kept a LM drive alive late in the 4th. And if you think the LM fans accept the behavior of their player, ask the Coldsprings players sitting behind my group and the other fans in the area, we were not only critical of the players but the coaches as well for not addressing it right away. Good luck to Navasota and WOS next week. Should be a good game.
Not sure which Coldspring fans you are referring to, but where we were sitting on the Navasota side, there were a bunch of LaMarque fans for some reason.  Not sure why they sat on the wrong side because there was more open space on the LaMarque side than the Navasota side.  From my perspective, Navasota played a pretty clean game.  It was LaMarque that seemed to be the cheap shot artists.  I even saw one of the LaMarque players put what looked like a WWF wrestling move on the Navasota Quarterback on one play.  Another LaMarque player made the tackle and on the way down the other player came in to help finish the tackle and looked like he was doing some sort of elbow drop to the Navasota qb's back.  I didn't hear any of the LaMarque fans near us condemning the behavior.  One even kept taunting the Navasota fans and then began to talk trash to our group about Coldspring is nothing, and where is ya'lls team.  I am not saying our fans kept their composure as good as the Navasota players, and pretty rudely invited him to come sit with us next week to watch Navasota play, but he kept stirring up trash the entire game.  The LaMarque player (#33 I think) that got kicked out at the end had to be basically restrained by a coach and team mate during the handshake and kept acting a fool on the field.  I don't remember the Navasota penalty that you refer to, only thing close that I can remember was a bad face mask call on Navasota on a stiff arm on offense.  I only went to the game to watch what I assumed would be a great game between two good football teams.  Don't have a dog in the fight, but there is no comparing the actions of LaMarque and Navasota at this game.  Navasota played like a champion, with class and dignity, and LaMarque played and acted like a bunch of thugs that thought they could intimidate someone.  The score was a lot closer than the game.  There was never any real doubt that Navasota had it under control.
 2. I don't know about a score, but looks to be a great game. I think Navasota pulls out a win against WOS by about a touchdown, then goes on to win at Jerry World. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win. Hopefully both teams show more class than LaMarque did tonight.  There was a lot of poor sportmanship and just flat out thug personality come out of LaMarque during and after the game.  #33 had to be held away by a coach during the handshake after he had been tossed by the officials.  There were also a bunch of LaMarque fans sitting on the Navasota side just to stir up trouble and talk trash.  The Navasota side was pretty packed, but there was room on the LaMarque side.  No reason for them to sit on the opposite side except to cause trouble.  They ran their mouths constantly until the middle of the 4th quarter then jumped up and slipped out when they realized their team was done.
 3. Congratulations to LaMarque.  You deserved the win.  Good luck in the playoffs. You definitely have one of the toughest roads to the championship in 3A Div II.  After Coldspring, you get Navasota.  Then, with a win there, you most likely get WOS. Good luck and see you again in preseason next year.  P.S. I am assuming we will play in Coldspring next year since we played in LaMarque this year.  I would like to apologize ahead of time for our visitors bleachers.
 4. Good luck to both teams on friday.  The winner of this one has a good chance of bringing home a state title this year.  It will be another tough test for the winner next week with WOS. Gotta go with my prediction from predistrict though. Navasota wins state this year.  Not saying LaMarque can't beat them this week, or WOS next week, just saying in my opinion they are better than any team I have seen Coldspring play in the last 3 years, including LaMarque, WOS, Carthage in '10, or Wimberley in '11.
 5. CS just can't lose what they did to graduation (QB, and RB) and be as good as they were last season. Those guys were two outstanding players at key positions. The QB this year is a 3 year starter. Took them to Jerry's world and semi finals. Lost 2 running backs from last year. Gilbert was the main ball carrier, very quick and extremely fast, but not much power. His replacements this year are not as fast, but much more power. The biggest weapon CS has is a sophomore and has only got the ball late in the game because he starts at LB. Best running back CS has had for years. Good luck to both teams Friday, and someone please keep the game thread updated. Having thanksgiving at the deer lease and no radio coverage or Internet. Have to get updates on iPhone.
 6.
BC can win this game But it will take a major effort on their part....I still say Coldspring IS NOT THE Hoss they WER"E  ...... 8)
Coldspring defense is not as powerful as they were last year, but offense is better.  Of course if they get beat by a very good LaMarque team, or an extremely good Navasota team, you will be on here saying "see I told you they weren't that good".  Go bounce a basketball :'( :'(
 7. If Navasota stays healthy through the playoffs, I don't see any team beating them without having an excellent game plan and executing to the best of their ability and a few Navasota mistakes.  It can happen, but Navasota will definitely be in the driver's seat through the playoffs.  Good luck, and hope to see you in round 3. Been trying to get on the downlow but bans my email. >:( I have to be honest. Against Navasota Coldspring was not tackling well at all. They really sucked trying to arm tackle. Also we couldn't hold on to the football. We have improved dramatically. Would love a rematch, but have to win 2 games first starting with Bridge City.
Yes, I was telling my dad that I sure hope that we don't have to run into Coldspring in the playoffs....
Yeah, and everyone from Coldspring has been routing against Taylor all year, hoping Navasota would go DI.  Can't wait for Friday for the playoffs to start.

They will have to knock out the other 2 to get there.
 10. I don't think Huffman has the horses this year. Their defense is pretty suspect. I don't think they can score enough points to stay in this one.
 11.
who will thay be playing if there still in
Round 4 for WOS would be Navasota, LaMarque, or Coldspring.  Which ever of these 3 makes it out.
 12.
IMHO, Coldspring will dominate and be the only 22-3A team to advance.
I have to agree. Coldspring should be able to handle Bridge City easily.  WOS should do the same to Cleveland, and I don't think Huffman is near as good as last year and Silsbee will beat them.  21-3A wins this round 2-1.
 13. I don't know about a shutout, but WOS should win this easily.  They should have a fairly easy road till round 4.  Then we will see what they are really made of.
 14. Good Luck to both teams.  Hope you have a good and injury free game. See the winner next week.
 15.
does WOS play the winner?
Unless Huffman gets beat, WOS will play the winner. If Huffman loses and Cleveland wins, then Cleveland plays Silsbee and Shepherd gets WOS.  Either way, WOS should not have much trouble.  They would blow out Shepherd bad, and put a pretty good whippin on Cleveland.  The biggest difference is that Cleveland plays much rougher and dirtier, and might cause WOS some issues with injuries that would hurt them later in the playoffs.  They tried everything they could to take out Coldspring players last week.
