Not sure where people get their information, but Coldspring mainly lost Sherman Gilbert to graduation.  Most everyone else is back.  Trojans should win by 4 TD's.
Sherman was a big loss, we don't quite have the speed or experience in the backfield that we had.  Sherman was so fast that once he got loose, he was gone.  Losing Monroe at running back hurt some also, although I think Cooper may be better at the tough yards than Monroe. Don't forget about Andries and Ked Harrison on defense.  Those two were almost a defense by themselves.  We still have a good defense, but without them, it is not destroying teams.

The reason ya'll don't schedule Coldspring is because your coach knows he would get spanked and it would make him look bad.  Barbay practically begged Rowe to play a pre-district game, so that we would not have to travel 2 plus hours every week to find a team that is not scared to play us.  Rowe was chicken and you know it.  Call it what you want.  We asked, ya'll refused!

I say Silsbee by 10.
So that means you will walk into LCM and without a doubt come out with a win, trust me it want be so easy ask Silsbee and everyone they have played.
Nothing is ever for sure when you put that many High School kids in one spot, but I am confident that the Trojans can beat LCM on friday.
 4.
You have very good 3a teams that can win against 4a teams and the same with 4a/5a but over-all if every team could play against each other the higher classification would have the best winning percentage by far.
A lot of the outcome depends on the schools involved in the matchups.  Many of these predistrict mix and match games are set up with the distance and location meaning a lot.  It also pairs up a lot of not so good bigger schools with better little schools.  If the top teams from each division played each other, it might come out more with the bigger school on top. I also think it seems like the 3A schools are doing a good job of whipping up on 4A schools in our region because we have a bunch of power in 3A right now.  WO-s, Coldspring, Silsbee, Navasota, and La Marque are a pretty tough region.  I don't know that our region is that powerful in 4A.  We have some good teams, but not as dominant as a region.
 5.
A credible ranking of who really are the best teams, meaning if these teams actually played each other and who would win, the rankings are pretty clear already after three weeks of play. Four teams stand out among all others, and this opinion is based on what coaches say who have scouted games and watched film. PA Titans are the best team in the Triangle. No one in our area can beat them. Size, speed, and depth. That puts them over the top. WO-S Mustangs. The only team who has the speed to match the Titans and stay on the field with them. The Titans size and depth would allow them to overpower the Mustangs and that is understandable. Nederland. On any given Friday they could beat WO-S and they proved what they have by taking the #3 ranked team to the limit. They do not have the speed, size and depth to hang with Port Arthur. Vidor. On any given Friday they can beat Nederland and might do it next week. They run an offense fitted towards the talent they have at their school. Coach Matthews is one of the top 5 coaches in the Triangle and is building a consistent winner. Like Nederalnd, speed, size, and depth would not allow them to beat Port Arthur, and I think WO-S speed would cause them problems even though they to could take the Mustangs out on any given Friday. These four are clearly the best, but Port Arthur is clearly the best among the four for this season.
#1 Port Arthur is probably the best team, have not seen them and know very little about them other than what they did last year.  The size of their school and last year lead me to believe they would beat most teams in the area. #2 Never count Dayton out.  They are a perenial power house. #3 Which coaches are scouting all of these teams?  They are all in different districts and different divisions, and unless they are playing each other, the coaches could care less about watching these teams. #4 WO-S may be the better team this year, but until they beat the Coldspring Trojans, putting them #2 I disagree with. #5 There is nothing clear ever about who will win when two High School Football teams play.  Anything can happen.

Find you another pair, no more room on mine.
I'm don't think they can get by Cleveland.  Splendora may be tough for them also.  They will not beat Coldspring or Huffman this year, so if Cleveland beats them, they don't make the playoffs.  We'll see soon enough.
You coming from Coldspring? There is a good restaurant, in Moss Hill on the corner of 105 and 146.  It is only 20 miles the other side of cleveland though, so kind of early to stop and eat. Don't know much about LCM, but they don't seem to be winning many games this year.

Tarkington is improving.  They are better this year than last year.  They have won a couple games and should be happy with their improvement.  I don't care if it is against the worst teams in the state, THEY WON!
It was a great game.  No offense to La Marque, but they are not in the same league with Navasota.  I know we made some adjustments after Navasota, and we were playing with a different perspective, but Navasota was just flat awesome.  If they don't win state this year I will be really surprised.  La Marque was no where near as physical as Navasota.  They had the same look at the end of the game as the CS kids had last week.  Looked a little shell shocked and were getting up pretty slow after the plays.  CS played a lot more physical tonight, and it looked to have taken a toll on the La Marque boys.  But, a little word of warning!! Both of these teams are going to have to do a better job of holding on to the ball.  If they keep turning the ball over like these first 3 games, they might both be at home watching the State Championships on Fox Sports.
I have to agree I will be shocked if Navasota dosent win a state championship and for La Marque or CS to have a shot at one they will have to face each other again should be another great one.
I think West Orange-Stark will have some say in that state championship talk :).
They sure might.  Which ever team comes out of our region this year should have a good chance of winning it all.  WO-S should go Division II 3 A correct? That would put Coldspring, La Marque, and WO-S all three in Division II.  I say that 1 of those are the eventual state champion.
 16.
La Marque should have won
??? ??? CS fumbled on the 2.  Threw a pick in the end zone (receiver was wide open, quarterback under threw the ball and allowed the DB to catch up).  Recovered the onside kick after half time unopposed and lost the ball on a pretty iffy call of offsides.  Had the La Marque defense on their heals most of the night.  Stuffed La Marque in overtime.  Punched it in fairly easily to finish the game in overtime.  Honestly, I don't mean any offense to La Marque, but Coldspring dominated the game for the second half.  The La Marque players were all limping around and staying down on the field the last half.  Not sure why you think La Marque should have won other than the fact that they were ranked higher.

 18. Does anyone know how closely he is kin to Eric Dickerson? Just curious, in High School we had a coach Seals from Sealy that was Dickerson's uncle.  I figure it is the same family or at least kin.
 19.
This game reminded me of sweet and sour chicken in a sense.. The competition between these two teams lived up the hype, and as a result it took an overtime score to decide it all.. That was the sweet part. But if we could just be realistic for a second and really think about this....  La marque had this game under wraps. It was the inexcusable penalties by la marque that allowed coldspring to walk out of that stadium with the "w". I dont think i have ever seen THAT many yellow flags thrown at a la marque team in my whole 10 years of living in this county. Yet, somehow we managed to keep the score tied almost the whole game... It's almost scary to imagine what La marque "Could" do if we could just be more disciplined and executed better on offense. There is no reason for your QB to have more rushing yards that your RB when he is fully capable of being a threat himself, what kind of offensive game plann was that ? i really don't know, but i still have faith in what our coaches are doing with the kids and i do see improvements being made every week so only time will tell. Ultimately we beat ourselves... not to take anything away from the trojans but we let this one slip away and coldspring being the talented team that they are took advantage. I hope we meet again, 'redemption' will be the word of the day. Great game
Both teams committed some stupid penalties, but for a change I thought the officials did a pretty good job of calling the game.  Most of the flags were thrown on obvious penalties that could be seen from anywhere in the stadium.  All open field holds or personal fouls.  Not so sure that the officials were convinced La Marque liked their officiating though.  That is the fastest I have ever seen a set of refs leave the field after a game.  They sprinted to the locker room as soon as they signaled touchdown and were gone.  Both teams are going to need to buckle down and play smarter and hold on to the ball better if they want to go all the way.  The late hits for 15 yards are a killer, and have to be eliminated.
