Gotcha. I can agree with that. I had also heard that one of Huffmans returning starters transferred to another school district and didnât play basketball this year. -

Whatâs not normal about the circumstances?? HJ shoots it well at home â Always â. The secret for Huffman has always been to control the boards and the tempo. The Falcons win the match ups when they hold the score in the 40-50 point range. The 80+ games the Hawks always win! -
Iâm floored. I watched Warren and Hull Daisetta early this year and didnât think either club would be competitive.

They got a good one
-
If Williams is still in Kirbyville heâs a good one as well .

6 teams can beat each other in this district. EC , Buna, Kountze, Anahuac, Newton and Woodville. It seems like to the onlookers that Woodville and Newton both place a decided emphasis on football or they could both have really good basketball programs.

I donât think Silsbee has HF on the schedule this year. -

Just a few observations: (1). Analytics and Offensive stats are a waste of paper in high school basketball .They can be very misleading by outings against weaker competition . (2). The best judge of a âgo to playerâ are the kids themselves. The opposing defense may limit that playerâs ability to get the ball but the players know who should have it. (3). If we have a coach at any level who doesnât know if his best players are on the floor during crunch time heâs probably in the wrong profession. I havenât seen a local coach who doesnât know where his best players are. -

Silsbee shot it pretty well after the first quarter. HJ had a stretch where shot selection was questionable and they got beat on the boards. The Hawks will have to play 4 quarters of almost perfect basketball to upset the tigers. Nothing is impossible in the hoops game though. Great way to spend the afternoon. -

Iâll be there to enjoy a basketball game. Something Iâve done for the past 60+ years. I hope itâs a good one. -

Iâll be the first to admit Iâm watching as a fan. Iâll also agree youâre watching as a dad. # 23 has a ton of potential, especially on the offensive end. What I saw the other night was a player with very little big game experience that wasnât quite sure how to step up in the moment. Defensively I wasnât impressed with HF. I still stick by my pre season prediction. I think HJ is clearly the best club in the district. Once again we probably arenât going to agree on any of this and thatâs ok. Thatâs what these threads are for. -

I think we watched two different games lol -
Thanks

I havenât looked at a bracket this year but I think it would be at the regional tournament
-
You never know what youâre going to get with these early afternoon games when the kids are out of school. Silsbee should be the favorite at home by 10.

We are 17 games into the season if roles havenât been defined by now itâs probably not gonna happen this year. I donât know anything HFâs new coach but he looked like he had a pretty good handle on things last night. I know they have an assistant that was a top notch head guy in the area for years. -

Looking at this break down I wouldnât be able to tell who won the game?? Sears did a masterful job of breaking the defense down and dishing the ball where it needed to go. He could penetrate the defense at will and did when he needed to. HF doesnât have the go to guy that steps up and demands the basketball with the game on the line. #2 was the closest player I saw to anyone doing this. Everyone has a different opinion I guess but I personally would have put #5 on the block and pounded the basketball in to him. I donât the kids name but #3 from HJ was the most impressive defender I saw last night. Early foul trouble on Brown kept him on the bench for extended periods of time and kept the game closer than it would have been otherwise. -

LCM, Orangefield and WOS will all be pretty evenly matched clubs with the Raiders. -
I think you had the script lol. This break down was spot on.

HJ led by 5 at the end of the 1st. They went up by 7 at the half but came out cold to start the 3rd and HF went on a 10-2 run . Foul trouble to Brown hurt the Hawks late in the first half . Davis hit two deep 3âs and a little floater he was fouled on to put the Hawks back up by 9. Sears sure looked like the best player on the floor tonight. I was also impressed with #3 for the Hawks tonight. He scored some big buckets in the first half and played super defensively. For the Horns I believe it was #2 who was strong on the defensive end and #5 was solid as well. #23 played big in spurts and has the tools. Good win for the Hawks -
