It’s not unusual for teams in high school to play down to their competition.

Folks that didn’t have to play the old lions lol -
Really been inconsistent this year. Some nights they can be pretty good.

Huffman vs Hamshire Tuesday should be worth the price of admission. Huffman could make seeding really interesting with a win.

In the late 90’s Coach Hand took a very young Huntington team to Woodville who was state ranked. He spread the floor the entire first half. Woodville never came out to challenge the ball and Huntington won that game 5-3. The best and worst coaching jobs I ever heard of and they were both the same game. You do what you gotta do.

Kountze is much improved from a couple of years ago but they are lite years away from the old dominant lions. Joubs doing a good job with what he has to work with. -

At a certain point it just gets easier to stay home 🤦♂️

That may be the case in football but not so much in basketball. Hours in the gym cure a lot weaknesses. It starts at a young age and continues through high school. I know for years the kids and parents went all over SE Texas and competed every week against a lot bigger clubs. They didn’t win all those games but it sure made them better. Warren has some pieces, especially with size. They could have been decent. -

The young man has had a better freshman year from an individual standpoint than I thought he would. That being said I’ve watched many many Lamar games over the years from McDonald gym to the civic center and finally the Montagne center. In that time frame I’ve seen a lot of players suit up that weren’t D1 players. I haven’t been in the season ticket seats the last few years because they have been hard to watch at times. I think they have the right man on the bench now but he’ll have to recruit some “D1” players to be successful. I think they are currently 2-20. Never been called a genius before but I have watched a game or two. -

I didn’t look to see where Huffman and Livingston would play. I think the home team will definitely have the advantage in that one. -

I had said before the season the team that could hold serve at home and steal one on the road would win the district. I didn’t think HJ would be able to go through district undefeated but they are getting close. HF will have a challenge next Tuesday traveling to Huffman. If the Falcons win that one I think there’ll be a seeding game for the 3-4 spots. -
I don’t want to be disrespectful so I’m gonna say HJ by 15.

Shepherd 28 Hardin-Jefferson 94/FINAL

Didn’t make this one. Looks like the Hawks have hit their stride. Shepherd must be starting over. It hasn’t been long since they were pretty decent. -
Hamshire-Fannett 69 Liberty 46/FINAL

I don’t know anything about the internal conflicts on the HF club. I do know that by the 25th game of the season EVERY coach in SE Texas knows the chemistry of his team. If a coach is still making moves this time of year it’s because he’s not pleased with the players on the floor. I wouldn’t read much into stats against a 1-7 club. HF should beat Livingston at home, the matchups favor them ( unless Livingston gets hot from behind the arc). Their challenge will be against a Huffman club that took them to OT at Hamshire. If everyone plays up their potential HF and Livingston could very well be playing a seeding game. The players everyone wants benched seem to be good scoring options when #5 is shut down. -

I don’t mean to question your logic but we’re 25 games into the season I don’t think they’ll be many new discoveries at this point. I think Liberty is 1-7 in district playHF should destroy them -

Is there a magic lesson? HF is going to have to stay focused these next two games or they could easily find themselves with a 3rd place finish. I think they will beat Livingston at home but Huff will be a challenge at Huffman. They handled a Liberty club that they should beat easily.
