I fail to see how your level of competition has been any higher than ours. If nothing else (and I think most anyone not from png or lum will agree) your level of competition has been lower. I have no problem with someone thinking their team is the best. I hope we all feel that way about our respective teams. But at least be intelligent with your arguments. -
Just wanted to say congratulations to PNG G and LUM W for outstanding performances today. I have to admit I was wrong about the LUM W outcome but completely on point about what they needed to do to win. They controlled the line of scrimmage, contained #23, and tackled #11 when they needed it most. Valiant effort from the youngsters from BMT G. They will still make some noise in the playoffs and they will be a force next season. I was impressed to see the kids from LUM R in person. #9 is a beast on both sides of the ball, and #8 also played very well. Those kids hit every bit as hard as everyone has talked about all year. The Playoffs should be alot of fun. Good Luck to all teams still in the hunt for the Super Bowl Championship.

I still think BMT G is gonna take this one. The key to this game will be LUM W's ability to control the line of scrimmage, keep the ball carriers from getting around the edge, and IF they get a hand on one of BMT G's "FAST 3", to wrap up and make the tackle. If they can do ALL of those things they have a shot to win.

Our QB, #22, our RBs #20 & #8, and any of our starting OL or DL. Plus all the other kids that were mentioned. Several on WOS and PA.....Looking forward to seeing LUM R, LUM W, and BMT G in person on Saturday. Been really impressed with the level of talent on the PeeWee side thus far. We have many years of great SETX football ahead of us! -
It doesn't matter what kinda contest, we want to win. Especially if we are going against Nederland. If they had a competition to see who could throw the most rocks in a trash can from 25 feet away we would be out cheering our team to victory. We want to be the best. At everything. But if we can't be the best, we will usually settle for beating Nederland.

They will beat you outside. Their #9 is good too. By your own admission, LUM R has two outstanding players #8 and #9. They beat them up the middle [u]and[/u] outside (mostly big plays outside). I truly wish y'all the best, but in your division, they are the team to beat! No disrespect to LUM W...they are really awesome.
Bring your "A" game LUM W. Y'all can definitely win, but don't take ANYTHING for granted. BMT G is the favorite for a reason.

You play the game for 3 reasons:
1. You owe it to your kids
2. They are on the schedule...duh.
3. Nothing is absolute...LUM W can win, they are just not the favorite.
To answer your other question:
If it were me coaching Lum White, I would do everything in my power to contain the outside. Don't worry about punishing them...worry about catching them. 2 good corners is a necessity. At least 1 if not 2 good LB's is too. Put your fastest guys that can fundamentally pursue and tackle on the outside...they don't have to be your bruisers, they have to be your speed demons. Your offense will be able to score on them...y'all have an excellent scheme with lots of misdirection (2 different offenses even). Any weakness their offense has is compensated by sheer speed. They will throw the ball some too, but (like every other Pee Wee team) they will run 80% of the time. I am sure you have seen film on them, but you don't grasp their speed until they have burnt your best kids and are running into the endzone.

That way if all top seeds win you have:

I had heard from a buddy who heard it from his wife's hair dresser so you know it is true. That each of the players are reporting they are suffering from writters cramps and eye strains having to post and read how big and bad they are. JK I don't think kids at that age act as bad as us adults.

PA is a tough team. We did what we needed to do to beat them. No other game has been close, including our scrimmage of Ned B. Had it been a full game it would have been ugly. The test for us will be the next two weeks. After that, we will know if our 3 pt win vs PA was the real deal.

IMO, I think this is a toss up. Lum W barely got by Ned B, and other than that their schedule has been pretty easy. Lum R lost to two very good teams in Bmt G and WOS. Bmt G handled Ned B like they did Lum R, and it may come down to who has had more tests in the regular season. If that is the case, I'm going with Lum R. Plus they hit harder. -
