Great job PNG..........never easy beating WOS
Yes it was...PNG-G owned the 'Stangs.  Those 21 points were scored in the 1st half.  Good Superbowl to both sides.  Awesome job North Pee Wee pro bowl team.
Much respect to WOS. Our D just came out ready to shut them down. Great job to all our coaches and kids. Great job guys!

The way u sound; The Stjfl should just give Png-g the trophy....sense it was like that the 1st meeting between the two
Yeah, that's what I said.  Just give us the trophy........No, I was stating facts as it pertains to our defense.  I'm sure WOS will make adjustments, just like we will make adjustments.  Congratulations to WOS for proving everyone not from WOS wrong by beating LUM W.  Ocho just made a comment about our defense being exposed and I was just reminding him that our defense did pretty well against WOS the first time around.

Im taking WOS...BMT G exposed their Defense. #1 for WOS is just as good, id Not Better then Bmt G backs.
BMT G pretty much exposes everyone's defense.  Had they not committed 6 TO's in the LUM W game, they would have won that game by 2 TD's easy.  We put 3 TD's on WOS defense the first meeting, and gave up NO points.  ZERO.  And BMT G #11 is the best player in the PEEWEE division.  It's not even close.  #1 for WOS may be good, but no way is he better than BMT G#11.

Enough with all this crazy talk.  The PNG grey vs. Bmt Gold game was so good that I would love to see it again.  Does anyone know where I can get a video of that game?
Yeah, I would like to get a copy as well.  We were out of town and had to get the play by play over the phone for the last 4 minutes of the game.  That was pretty exciting in itself.

Is # 22 on Png G the best player in Pee-Wee?? He put on a show Saturday.
He may not be the best by himself.  He has a great supporting cast of friends and teammates.  All I can say is he is athletic in every sport he plays.  I also would put the QB #11 on the Bmt G team right beside him.  They both have great speed.
#11 is a 7 yr old who played flag last year. He along with is awesome teammates are making some noise this year, and will be definitely making even more noise next year.
That's the really impressive thing about this kid, and BMT G.  Should be a great game Saturday!

Just wondering why yall are so sure your playing png if vidor beats livingston friday dayton will play png
Why does everyone want to play PNG. Livingston wins Friday and PNG plays BH because they don't want to and Dayton plays Livingston because they don't want to. It' as simple as that, so dream on dreamers. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
BH wants to play us because they have a score to settle....Its become a tradition to knock BH out the playoffs in the first round...lol
Well that could also make for a rival. There are so many good teams in the Beaumount area almost any game can be a rival game. I understand if that's the reason.
Oh god. He brought up the "R" word. And he brought it up on a PNG fan. Oh god. Watch. Its gonna take two days and this thread will be 20 pages long lol.
Do I really have to explain this again???

Poor little Indians had to play that big, mean bull...you got beat, get over it and get ready for the playoffs...can we have one thread on here where png doesn't complain about having to play Livingston with Mays in the lineup?  Everyone has injuries and issues to get through...the good teams survive and the not so good ones don't...period
Who's complaining?  Livingston won, we lost.  Just don't think Livingston will beat Vidor without Mays.
  8. I for one am a football fan first and foremost.  So, more football is always a good thing.  And I hardly think taking 4 teams from each district teaches kids to be ok with mediocrity.  Don't know too many players/coaches/schools whose sole purpose is to slide into the playoffs in the fourth spot with a losing record....and 99 times out of 100 those weak teams get blasted the first week anyway.  You still have to earn the district championship and you still have bring it come playoff time to keep your season going.  Look at district 20-4a.  It's the last week of the season and 3 out of the 4 games will affect which teams go to the playoffs, which also affects the bi-district matchups.  Seems like that creates alot of interest across district lines.  As parents, how is that bad for our kids?  As fans, how is that bad for our teams?
  9.
If PN-G loses, Ozen wins and Livingston loses it creates a 3 way tie and it goes to point differential between the tied teams with a +19 max differential per game. That would leave..........

    PN-G +5
    Livingston + 13
    Ozen -18

I could be off but I think this is pretty close to how it works.
Yeah, that's what I heard as well.

Is BMT G going to go down twice to the big City of Lumberton?
Will Lum W & PNG G look straight through their first round opponents and lose in an upset?
Can WOS find redemption on PNG W for their loss to grey?
BMT G vs LUM R-----BMT G
    LUM W vs BMT B----LUM W
    PNG G vs NED B-----PNG G

I'm not a point spread guru, but think these 3 games will not be close. (3+ TD spread)
I will say that if LUM R can learn from their first meeting with Gold and take some notes from the way LUM W contained Gold when it mattered, they have a shot to upset.

    PNG W vs WOS----WOS

I think this will be the closest game of the weekend, and if there is an upset, this will be the game.
  11. I think there are many lessons to be learned here.  First, you have you have to look at the situation from both sides.  If mg's post is correct, then ndndad should have had plenty of opportunities to talk to the coaching staff about the attitude issues and address them with his son before airing the dirty laundry on a message board.

For the sake of argument (which in this case I don't see it)  if the coaching staff actually singled out the player for some reason and unfairly took him off of the offense, then the lesson there is that life is not fair.  Too many times in all sports we as parents and our kids as players have to deal with the politics of the leagues we pay to join.  It's a fact of life.  All we can do is try to handle those situations with grace and dignity so we can be the absolute best examples for our children.

ndndad,  I'm not saying you are wrong in this situation, because I'm not a part of this situation, but it does seem pretty clear to me that more communication between you and the coaches and between you and your son could have made this situation alot better alot sooner.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank the coaching staff of PeeWee PNG G and all the other coaches out there that take the time to make all the boys playing in STJFL better football players and better young men.  As the father of a 1st year 8yr old I've been very impressed with the way they have balanced the time it takes to teach a player the basics while also coaching up kids that have been playing for years.  They have done a tremendous job with our group of boys and win or lose my son and I have been blessed to be a part of this team.

So there are two assumptions out there:
    1. Vidor thinks everyone is their rival,
    2. No one thinks twice about, "cares about", or considers Vidor their rival.
As a pirate fan I love it. Strategically speaking, this would put us at a definite advantage in any given competition. Honestly, which mindset would you rather your players have?

By the way, I like the Redman vs Whiteman Bowl.
I don't think anyone's said that Vidor thinks everyone is their rival or that a team should overlook Vidor, especially not this year. I think all that's been said is that Vidor's so-called "rivalry" isn't really a rivalry. It's just Vidor hating Nederland more than the other teams on its schedule while Nederland looks at Vidor the same way as five its other district opponents.
To most people "hating" a team makes them your rival.
To most people, the other team hating you back makes them your rival.
Not really. Serena and Venus Williams love each other off the tennis court. But on the court they are fierce rivals.
We're not talking about tennis and siblings playing each other individually, we're talking about football and teams. Different situations.
It doesn't matter what the situation is. The definition of rivals are the same no matter what sport.
A rivalry implies mutual feelings between the involved parties. With siblings competing in an individual sport, that's much easier to establish and stems from their common backgrounds and circumstances. That's much harder to establish for football teams and schools in general. Nederland does not view Vidor in the same respect that Vidor views Nederland. Therefore, no rivalry exists.
This is just a continuing circle Bamakid. Your definition of rivaly's and my definition differ. I think it doesn't take both parties to think there is one for there to be one. If one team looks at another team as there rival then that is a rivalry IMO.
Maybe so.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines rival as "one of two or more striving to reach or obtain something that only one can posses."  and rivalry as "the act of rivaling: the state of being a rival."  That to me is pretty clear that each party is an equal in this endeavor to obtain what the other wants.  So, if a team doesn't see you as a rival you are not equally invested in the outcome.  Therefore, there can be no rivalry.  I gotta side with Bamakid on this one.

P.S.  For all you Vidor fans, a dictionary is a big book that explains the meanings of words.  ;D
One of two or more striving to reach or obtain something that only one can posses. Aka two teams looking to get a win in a football game. Sounds like what happens every friday night so if you wanna go by that definition then each and every football team that plays each other can be considered a rivalry.
That is true, but we all know that every sporting event is not considered a rivalry.  So we have to imply that what truly makes a competition a rivalry is trying to obtain those bragging rights.  And if you don't consider a team your rival then you don't care about the bragging rights.
Bragging rights? Nice choice of words. But you gotta think doesn't every team play for bragging rights along with the win? I'm sure if a team beats another team they are gonna brag. That's just the way most teams are.
Personally I don't think so.  But that's just me.  I know when I play in softball or basketball leagues I want to win every game, but there are those games that seem like the wins mean so much more, and the losses are so crushing.  And I think that is essential for both teams to feel that way for it to be a true rivalry.

  15. I think both teams hit really hard, and I give alot of credit to RED.....They rattled our RB a couple of times.  I do know that the single hardest hit of the game was when PNG G #8 put a block on #9 to spring our QB for a TD.  That was one of the best hits I've ever seen.....
