[quote name="mute" post="1344163" timestamp="1354142506"] Guys, I am from Carthage and I will fill you in on a few things.  They gave Jacksonville the game, very first game of the year.  6 turnovers and 13 penalties.  The Dawgs intercepted the ball with about 2 minutes in the game, and all they would have to do was fall down and run the clock out.  But the young man who intercepted ran about 50 yards and was stripped before he went down.  Jacksonville went down and won with just a few seconds left.  Whitehouse, went division 2 in 4a and was beat in a barn burner last week.  Carthage muffed a kick that went into the endzone.  the kid kneeled in down in the endzone, which should have brought it out to the 25.  However, the ref put in on the 1 and just before Carthage snapped the ball, the Ref blew the whistle, talked to the other officials and then awarded Whitehouse a safety.  Carthage was then only ahead 27-22.  The kicked to Whitehouse and they scored with a few seconds left in the game.  Every game that has been close, Carthage has had problems with turnovers and penalties.  If this team shows up on Friday with a no mistake performance, Carthage will be very very tough to beat.  Mostly Juniors on this team.  Most of the front 7 on offense, the QB, and RB are juniors too.  Don't remember about wideouts.  Defense is tuff.  Hard to run up the middle on them and they cover ground really fast.  From the post ya'll put, I understand ya'll have speed.  Carthage has speed and has seen great speed this year.  All the fans better hold on for this one......it will be good.  Of course I pick the Dawgs even it is just by 1. [/quote]With all that being said, and I'm not from Silsbee, You all will have more than you can handle against this team who lost by maybe a touchdown to the best defense in the state, and to a 4A team who caught them with too many key players out. They beat 2 other 4A teams with us being one of them, we made the playoffs and Silsbee could have made the playoffs in most 4A districts.

I haven't seen Angleton play this year, but I saw GT play SC last week, and if they let GT's QB have all day to throw as SC did then they will be in trouble. I have to think that Angleton must be pretty good if they were able to beat Ned. They shouldn't have any problem putting points on the board against GT defense even though they have a good defense which is not near as good as Ned's DF, but those little scat recievers running around with a QB having all day to find them could be a problem if they allow it to happen. Since I have not seen Angleton play, What do you Ned fans think (honestly) about the Angleton DF and OF? I would like to know if there is any video on the Ned@Angleton game? 

With SETX having 6 teams still in the run for the State Title , being Newton, San Augustine, Silsbee, LaPorte, Nederland, and West Orange Stark, how many do you believe we will have this time next week?

Have a lot of kin folks in carthage, but will be pulling for Silsbee in this one because they are a lot better team than Jasper this year. Silsbee 45 Carthage 35

[/quote]I was there and I'd have to agree, also GT ran their OF with precise execution, same OF just better at running it. Did not go for the bomb over the top, just threw underneath to small scat recievers all day long. You can't stop that kind of OF rushing 3 down linemen all game with no pressure on the QB.

Thursday, Thanksgiving Turkey Games from the couch, Friday and Saturday in the Reliant, looks like a football hangover Sunday mourning. Getting over it with some more football Sunday evening. Calling in sick Monday mourning ;D ;D

Crosby loses this one, but I could be wrong if they come out to play this week, just hard to predict this one.

I'll be there supporting Coldspring Friday and back Saturday to support Travis where my son coaches. Just the way I like it 3 game each day at the same location. ;D ;D
