1.
They had cool uniforms and the buses were nice too! ;D Seriously, BH will be one of the playoff teams this year.
I was suprised at how easy BH beat this team. When the Tigres were warming up before the game they looked huge, almost like a college team. But when they started playing you could tell they had not been playing football since they were little, like our boys do. They were a class act though, coming over to our sidlines and waving to our fans. I wish them luck in their future games but it will take more than luck to win in Texas. Still can't tell how good we are yet. A good win anyway.
All I can say is Crosby must be terrible because Nederland really sucks.
Do you like your crow fried or grilled? Give credit where it is due and be a little more mature.
Congrats to Nederland. I thought Cros. would win after reading all about your poor scrimmage. I was wrong and have great respect for Nederland. Hope BH can do the same and exact some revenge on Cros. this year.
 3. I will be at the BH game with my fingers crossed.
 4.
I saw the first half of the Lee-Sterling freshman game at Sterling.  Man I was really hoping someone would tell me that was the B team is all I can say. I know it wasn't though, because Lee actually had one guy on the team that will probably get moved up to varsity.  He(#2) is a really good rb/db type.  I can't imagine that they have too many guys more electric than him on varsity.  Lee had maybe 5 or 6 guys that looked like they belonged on an A team.  They only had maybe 28 total.  Sterling had a couple of big guys up front, but they were very, very shaky running the option. What appeared to be Lee's #1 qb did not play.  They wrapped his ankle, and he did not play at all.  Just looking at him, he was probably the second best guy on the team behind #2.  The quarterback that did play was adequate enough.  They had another running back(#33) that got hurt who was also pretty decent though undersized.  They had a third running back(#4) that was really fast and big and surprising that he was not on the first team offense in some form or fashion.  Lee was up 6-0 at the half when I left.  Should have been 18-0 at least if the Sterling science teachers/freshman officials had not taken away two touchdowns on holding calls that were immediately followed by interceptions.  Sterling fumbled and bumbled all over the place, got maybe a first down or two in the half. Neither Lee nor Sterling has much coming up the pipeline it appears. Where the heck are all of the guys in Baytown that know how to play football.  Lee, Sterling and GCM are all very thin in terms of roster and not very big across the board.
We all moved to Barbers Hill years ago 8)
Yes, they just added a game for Freshmen "B" team against Spring Westfield and JV will play Alief Hastings or Elsik. The freshmen game is here and JV game is there.
Thanks, you are ahead of the curve.

 8.
I'm not but my Stepfather and my brother are, like I said its not a that big of a deal, but I don't think people on these boards would make those types of comments about African-Americans.... Just a thought
:'( If you can't poke a little fun at stereotypes what's left? Seems no one can say anything w/out someone getting personally offended. Well this is a country with a first ammendment, it's not BelaRussia. I have not made any of these comments but I enjoy laughing at them and defend anyones right to say them. How about the disgusting things the left wing-nuts say everyday about traditional American values. I would bet you have no problem with their freedom of speech. Or maybe you could go and protest at Chic-fil-A.
 9.

It will be interesting to see what Crosby does on offense because they were about as plain vanilla as you can be in those 2 scrimmages. Nederland is the clear favorite because they are picked to run the table in 20-4A with 16 starters back. When was the last time someone actually beat Nederland at home?
Hate to say it but.....the ant mound beat us last year at home. :( :( :(
Nederland missed a FG in overtime which would have won the game for them. Wade Duke scored the winning touchdown on BH's possession in OT. Nederland was the most physical team we played last yr. If their DL is as good as last yr. they could make it interesting. However I just think the twins are too fast to contain. Crosby wins this one.
 10.
Are the freshman and jv going to play anyone this week.
No games for freshman and JV. Mexico only has the Varsity.
 11.
The season cant start fast enough. Also some of my people were wondering about the kids we had in the backfield for the scrimmage. Two sophomores, one is Parker Spears--- yes as in Spears Realty.... The other one was Wade Dukes younger brother Grant Duke. Neither one of them looked good in the scrimmage. The boys told me later that both of them let nerves get to them. Does anyone know what BH O-line weight is? Those are not small boys by any means. Austin Knotts (center) has got to be 6'3" and solid 260. And Bronco1, you will see very soon. Just keep claiming district as yours, like last year.
Grant Duke scored 3 touchdowns in the scrimmage last Friday; two for the JV and one for the Varsity. I don't know if he will get to play for the Varsity as there are a lot of very good backs ahead of him. I predict Parker will get a lot of carries this year if he stays healthy. Austin Knotts and Dillon Bergstrom were 1st team all district OL selections as sophmores. This is their senior yr. BH is supposed to be in a rebuilding yr. because we lost so many seniors to graduation. They might suprise everyone.
 12.
Dayton as a program has nothing to prove, we have a good history. That said, the 2012 Broncos will have to prove that they will perform like the teams of the past. They have some big shoes to fill and some obstacles to overcome to get there. Again, I think they will ge a good team, and finish a much better team than our opponents expect. As Dayton fans, expecting our team to be good is one thing, but expecting other fans to take that as gospel is unreasonable. None of that was said to diminsh the fact that BH sucks.
I would say this was a very good post except insert BH wherever Dayton was written and insert Dayton where BH was written. ;D

Maybe Vidor just needed to put a W in the win column.
 15.
Well BH15, I'm glad you don't think Crosby needs an OL, cause after watching them on film it doesn't appear they have one. By the way, doesn't every team have to outscore its opponent to get the win?
So true, but I think you know what I meant. Those twins are scary fast. I have to hope their defense has fallen off a lot. We lost a whole team worth of good seniors. Our new starters will have to fill some big shoes if we are to finish in the top four. The one thing we have going for us is an excellent coaching staff IMO.

Sometimes the coaches pick kids for all-dist JUST because they won the dist...so quit making excuses  :'( :'(
Stupid head, crack head, tsk....tsk.... I don't believe I like your tone. 18.
If Crosby has any kind of O-Line at all, Nederland is in trouble.
The Crosby twins are so fast they don't need an offensive line, just a center to shotgun snap. Big Ned will have to outscore Cros to win, and I don't see that happening. At least Ned will probably not be overconfident. We proved last yr. that can get you beat quick.
 19.
I am very biased here but I think all of you should know that we gave one of our main tailbacks only like 6 runs and one turned into a TD. They are being careful with him because he had a slight knee issue and not taking any chances. But if you want to see what is coming for BH this year, here is the link. [Hidden Content] And you will notice some of these runs done at Dayton.
Very impressive Oprydad. Glad to see you join the post this year. I look forward to watching Dalton and I know he will do us all proud.
 20.
From what I saw in the GCM scrimages.... you guys are crazy if you think they will beat Lumberton by some huge margin (60-0 or 35-7)... "Sure would be nice for the Raiders to go get a victory and then maybe we could get support from some of our own fans" (he said in his most sarcastic voice)... Its too early in the season to be so negative!!  Prove em wrong boys..GO RAIDERS!!
Lumberton had a really good freshman team last year. If some of those players are moved up to Varsity I think Lumberton takes it. Haven't seen much out of GCM in the last two years except the Baytown Sun's love affair with em. GCM is mostly hype IMHO.

I will say though that the sports that bh has dominated like tennis golf will be alot tougher in our new district.
lol.....tennis, golf, baseball, girls softball, girls basketball, etc, etc, I'll give Dayton football but that's about it. You can check out, what is it, the Lone Star Cup rankings, to see how BH compares to 19-4A in sports each year.  ;)
Didn't Dayton hand BH a loss or two this year in Basketball ?
Barbers Hill won district in every single sport last year except boy's basketball. Not to mention our academic prowess. How many of your schools had a 100% graduation rate last year? Jealousy abounds.
 24.
??
Barbers hill has well and away the best concessions all yr. Last year we served everything from fried shrimp baskets to thick and juicy rib eye sandwiches ( fresh cooked on a grill). And we did it at cheaper prices than most of the other schools for the regular menue items, i.e. hamburgers, hotdogs, corndogs, fried cheese sticks, boudain, sausage on a stick, chicken finger baskets, chili-cheese fries, etc. Hungry yet?
 25.
Here is the back story on the scheduling of the Tigres.  They were not the original Week 0 team for the Hill.  Coach Gage had tentatively scheduled Humble as their Week 0 opponent.  However, the UIL threw a huge monkey wrench into that plan on realignment day when they put Humble into 19-4A.  That left Coach Gage having to scramble for a new Week 0 opponent which now are the Tigres.
Coach Gage tried to get several local teams to fill the week 0 spot but they all declined, with the excuse that they all needed to put W on their records in the 1st week.
