  1. He normally runs a pretty balanced offense, but they've had tons of OL injuries the past few years. He had the Rodgers brothers a few years back and they ran on everybody.    I think he'll get better players at NU and do a better job with the QB group than we've seen and make a guy like Stanton an NFL caliber QB. The offense will be fine. I'm interested in who comes in and runs the defense.    He's a better coach than Pelini. Bo wouldn't do crap at Oregon State.
  2. I used to live in Seattle and follow the Pac 12, so I know a little about him. It's really hard to win in Corvallis and he did a good job there. He'll do well at Nebraska. I expected a big name and like most of the fan base, I'm underwhelmed, but I think he's a better overall coach than Pelini.
  3. Riley's leaving Oregon State after 14 years to become the new head coach at Nebraska. I'm shocked. Totally out of left field...
  4. I just saw that a radio host in Arkansas tweeted something similar. At this point, Bielema would surprise everyone if he actually took the job. I wonder if the Huskers have even talked to him, but it's certainly not the end of the world if he's not in the picture at all.
  5. It's not popular among the Huskers fan base because like Bo, Bielema's a horse's ***, but I like it. He's a really good coach that would make NU the toughest SOB's in the Big 10. Get it done, Eichorst.
  6. Good move by Ole Miss. Keeps them relevant.
  7. [Hidden Content]   Nebraska should hire THIS guy. LOL
  8. I heard that. I'll reserve judgment until I see who he's bringing in.
  9. I just listened to the AD's press conference and while he didn't say anything in regard to what he's thinking, I would think he has his man...
  10. I was shocked when I saw that this actually went down. Bo's a good coach and will learn from this. Tommy Armstrong has already tweeted against this and he may be right, but he might as well go ahead and transfer.
  11. Straight is fine when your line can run block. Abdullah has great vision and gets a lot of yardage on his own.
  12. I like it, but I'm not convinced about either Cross or Newby, but maybe it's because Abdullah runs with so much aggression that it looks like those two don't. I don't know anything about Taylor.
  13. You would think that Bo's defenses would be a lot more aggressive than they are, even though he's not the coordinator. That should always be Nebraska's calling card, regardless of who's coaching the team.
  14. The first thing I would do is beef up both lines and build out from there, with strong emphasis on running and stopping the run. They would improve dramatically just by doing that, even with Tommy at QB. I'd rather see Fyfe or Stanton get a shot at it next year, but we'll see if Tommy can improve in the spring.
  15. I don't know if bringing back the option is a good idea, but they need to get back to smashmouth football and controlling the clock.
  16. If Iowa beats them next week, the hot seat will get really hot. Expectations are unrealistic a lot of the time, but Nebraska should be better than a middle of the road team in the Big 10. To have two touchdown leads in both of these games and lose isn't good at all...
  17. I like Bo, too, but I think he's gonna have to hire new coordinators to keep my support. Guys that know exactly what they want to do that can give the Huskers an identity on both sides of the ball, which is something they lack right now. You never know from one week to the next what to expect.
  18. I know Bielema has struggled at Arkansas, but he had it rolling at Wisconsin before he left. He would bring that same physical style to Nebraska and that's what I'd like to see. Scott Frost (former QB and OC at Oregon) is out there, too, but I want the downhill running game and defense similar to what Michigan State and Wisconsin do.
  19. I just got around to reading this thread and while the kid is talented, he's a flippin' idiot. Someone will be dumb enough to draft him early (Jets) and have to deal with his crap for five years...if he lasts that long.
  20. I'd like to see Mullen stay where he is and continue building MSU. I don't think they can outbid UF or a school like Michigan to keep him.
  21. I think they'll make a run at Mullen from Mississippi State. He was an assistant there before MSU hired him.
  22. I'm realistic enough to know that neither will happen, but it's okay to dream, right?
  23. I'm a Nebraska guy and I'd love to see Bo Pelini leave and take the Florida job. Bret Bielema hasn't really fit in at Arkansas and would be welcomed to come back to the Big 10 and Nebraska.
  24. As down as OU might be about this year, letting Stoops leave for Florida can't and won't happen. I think there's a better chance of Spurrier returning than Stoops going there and the chances of either aren't particularly good.
  25. I'm an embarrassed Husker fan this morning. Gordon deserves his props, but that was a huge game for Nebraska and they didn't look interested. I've tried to support Pelini, but I think it's time for them to make a change. He's a defensive coordinator, not caliber of head coach that should be walking the sidelines at Nebraska.
