I thought Manvel was tough censored last year too & yes we were a great 4A team.  5A is a rude awakening bro... I know, I'm experiencing it now.  Early in the season PAM would have drug Manvel up and down the field. (and I'm a Manvel fan). Honestly 5A is a whole different ball game in the trenches.  Playing a teams like NS convinced me of that.  When a team has 2 or 3 different, big and talented lines on both side of the ball to throw at you for 4 quarters, depth immediatedly becomes an issue.  And the average 5A team never quit... never!  LP and PAM has learned how to play against the big schools... Scheme wise, clock wise etc... It's not easy bro.  SC can't beat half the teams that lost in the 1st round of 5A playoffs. ex:  PAM, Pearland, Cy Falls, Lake Travis, Cy Fair, Klein Oak, Spring Dekaney... etc  Manvel would probably be ranked #1 4A without the alignment.  Now we just in the middle of the pack taking it one game at a time.  It ain't easy.  There's no Yates, Sharpstowns etc... in 5A playoffs."
Ever heard of the "sandbagging" concept genius? Probably not since SC cant sandbag yet, they have to win a 2nd round playoff game first.  ;)
Doesn't look like PAM could get out of the FIRST round last year!  Guess you drew tough competition, huh?  I bet there were some 2nd round teams that PAM could have beat soundly.  The luck of the draw.
Yes we did, so did SC but the difference is we know we lost to the better team, SC on the otherhand (specifically YOU) still think it was a travesty and outright wrong that yall lost to the better team that was GTown.  ;)
You lost to a middle of the pack team (according to Tigerattack) that moved up from 4A.  That's gotta suck.  One and done. After all that jawing you've been doing.  WOW.  SC lost to a 5A team that moved down.  The're an advantage to moving down from a division that was more competitive.  GT got to prepare for 4A playing 5A teams.  Manvel prepared for 5A by playing 4A teams.  There's a difference.
You dumb arse mutt, TIGERATTACK is a KATY fan, SONGONE is a Manvel fan who in fact posted that as "sandbagging"....... Get yours facts straight before you post.
Yes I wrote that post... remember it well and stand by my statement.  I mean look at the list first round teams that lost again then do a little research.  Very good teams that competed well all year. Now look at Manvel next two games after defeating PAM.  Struggled with 7-5 Fort Bend Dulles (39-26) and then lost to 9-5 Cy Ranch (43-42).  Competition is a lot better in the 5A playoffs...  The next round can easily be your last.  That was my point.
 2. Had mine since June 17 ... Hastings in Abilene!

PAM... GREAT TEAM... Simple as that. DC ranked or not! If and I mean if there is ever a day PAM is classified 4A the whole complex of this board will change.  PAM is head and shoulders above most 5A teams D1 & D2 and will punish the surrounding 4A teams for years to come.  I'm sorry, no other way to say it! I say that because Manvel played a few (at the time) top level SETX teams in playoffs prior to leaving 4A being Dayton and PNG in the playoffs... and that game with PAM was a whole different animal.  No comparison between level of competition!
Ummm...PAM can't even win 21-5A and is usually fighting for the last PO spot.  Let's just keep things in perspective. :o ;D :P
The (2) 21-5A teams they usually lose to are ranked in the top 25 of Texas 5A teams... Now how many 5A teams are in Texas?  That still leaves plenty of teams to be better than.

All the haters from District 19 and 20 are predicting that SC will land in District 13-5A.  Look at the enrollments!  Most schools school on the list have 1500+ more kids! Humble Atascocita 3210 Humble Kingwood 2580 Klein 3152 Klein Collins 3266 Klein Forest 3528 Klein Oak 3736 Spring 3493 Spring Dekaney 2720 Spring Westfield 3196
Here's an alternate hypothesis: SC joining 13-5A would create a 10-team district, something that is very rare. 21-5A is currently a 7-team district. Channelview, La Porte, PAM and West Brook are at the lower end of the 5A size and have seen declining enrollment. If even just one were to decline to where it drops a division, UIL could put the Humble schools into 21-5A, making it at most a 9-team district. Impossible to know at this point. Several schools moving up and down. Pearland Dawson and Friendswood are both in growing areas and were very near the 4A/5A cutoff last time. Likely to be a lot of district changes in next winter's realignment.
Its a no-win situation for SC regardless of where they're put next re-alignment IMO, get mauled in 13-5A weekly or get mauled in 21-5A 4 times per season.
LOL!  I know I'm late on the thread... but i'm LMAO!
 6. DemDawgs... I'm not really a sh*% talker, but I understand why you feel the way you do.  SC is loaded and knocking on the door.  I'm going to side with you on this one.  8 starters returning on offense is a little too much for the competition to contend with.  Especially having to deal with Aaron Sharp (3 year starter) as their leader.  This kid is about to flat out destroy Region III, NO IF ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT! I know... "What about the defense?"... 5 returning starters, but can anybody go blow for blow with that offense for that to be a factor?  At least in Region III. Barring injury... SC wins Region III Div1!
 7.
Manvel probably got their high rating because Coach Martin and his staff are great at developing and selling players to D1 schools! Manvel is VERY fortunate to have him as their coach. Look at what he has done the past few years. Honest question – has any school in SETX, GHA, Region 3, Texas or the whole country for that matter ever had two QBs in a single graduating class that both went on to play on D1 teams? People laugh about a two-QB system saying if you have more than one QB than you don’t have any, but Martin has made it work with two different sets of QBs, and all four have gone on to the D1 level. It’s probably that reputation that builds to a (in my mind questionably) high ranking. Of course it takes the raw talent coming in to achieve that, but coaches have to manage and develop it also. More proof of Coach Martin’s leadership is how his oldest son has turned out. Koda is an incredible leader. Look him up on twitter. Awesome posts. Great young man! Removing the sandbags for a moment, I heard that Martin’s younger son is a QB. Eighth grade this fall, sharing the QB role with another tough QB who is 6’1” and already doing one-handed dunks in basketball.  With Manvel likely to play sophs and a junior at QB this year and those two coming up, Manvel’s QB pipeline looks pretty solid! The PAM / Manvel game was one of the best of the year! Two teams with a lot of talent. It came down to a couple of factors – PAM lost a stud OL in the first quarter, just like Manvel lost a stud OL in the first quarter against Aledo. That caused a lot of additional pressure on the backfield. Then two big turnovers deep in PAM territory in the 2nd quarter, one a pick-6 and the other a sack/fumble that Manvel converted a few plays later to create score spacing that PAM couldn’t recover from. Otherwise the game would have probably come down to the last possession. I guess if Manvel got its rating from beating PAM, that's a pretty strong endorsement of PAM as well!
GREAT POST RHBoiler!  Martin has definitely been a blessing to the Manvel program and he works well with not only the kids but his assistants, scouts, parents and the community as a whole ... just a great guy.  He loves for the program to win on and off the field as proven with how hard he works to get these kids to the next level. The D1 commits are just what many see on the surface but several of the other kids get offers from D2, D3 and JC's.  As of today, OLB Coach ED still working with a D1 commit from the 2012 state squad that has been converted to OLB a the next level... spent a whole day with this kid and they will right back at it tomorrow.  There's a lot of love in this program that trickles down from that present D1 ex-Manvel Maverick to that Freshman kid in the weight room looking on.  Kids play hard for Kirk and staff... one night you are on JV and the next week you get 15 carries on Friday night.  Freshman, Soph., Jr., Sr? doesn't matter...  Work your ass off year round, learn the plays and keep your nose clean... you'll get your chance!  With that said, I think Manvel is ranked because most of these young kids logged major time last year.  Other than those standout D1 skill players that graduated, the others were continuously rotated.  2 of our top 4 recruits are sophomores this year.  I think we will be fine. NOW! (The PAM 4A scenario came about through a post I read somewhere about school numbers declining... not saying it was factual.) By the way... I work in the Beaumont/PA area a lot and you guys should be proud of Harrison and the Titan Program. I noticed how many of those kids go to the next level as well.  Keep up the good work out there!
 8. I picked the magazine up @ Hastings in Abilene June 17th
 9. Can Manvel get a little love with the bold print?  We are somewhat on the area... Well heck... Region 3!
 10.
Coach Martin calls the plays on offense, always has, always will...
That's 100% for certain!

SC and Ned have a lot of talent coming back next year. Kind of want to see them go at it in the playoffs.
Ned will be there, question is will SC be there?  :o
Wait and see, will PAM be there. Or whoever your team is ::)
Were 5A. Sorry, you cant play US..........yet.  ;)
Didn't you say that about Manvel?  ;) We know how that went....  ;D
Yeah, close game with those "all-world" WRs they had. They gone now, im pretty sure they would not wanna face PAM or La Porte coming up. Is Brenham gonna win another playoff game soon?  ;D
Close game with Manvel...  :o  If I remember we (Manvel) were up 3 TD's with around a minute left.  Yes we did lose some nice recievers but we have a group of nice ones now too.  QB will be a problem... but I feel both teams lost good ones in that dept.  Anyway we will be ready next year too.
 12. Marcus Ward... Allen's little RB is one tough cookie!!  Destroyed DeSoto.
 13.
This Nederland Defense is a Band of Brothers....and they got the job done!  I love you and support you all the way.  You impressed the socks off of everyone Friday night!  Keep up the good work and all of us fans will be there Saturday afternoon to cheer you on against Georgetown. GO DOGS...ALL THE WAY!!!!!
I'm a Manvel fan and we are done!  I really like what I seen from you guys Friday and I will be there to support the DOG'S Saturday... Good luck!
 14. Summer Creek would not have beat Nederland... Kids are too disciplined!
 15. Great win Nederland! You guys played a very good game.  5th & 2 almost got you guys, but your team flat out beat Dawson tonight.  Them Bulldogs kids are disciplined and aggressive... Be proud and Good luck down the road.  I hope you guys next game is in Reliant because I will be there.  Again Congratulations!!
 16. CB Jalen Barnes, Port Arthur Memorial (5-11, 175)- Barnes is also a raw prospect but recently picked up offers from Oklahoma State and Mississippi State/ However, Barnes shut down his recruitment last Tuesday when he committed to Iowa State. Barnes is a true corned but must work on his overall technique to be a true lock down corner in the Big 12. DCTF Best DB Manvel faced all year! [Hidden Content]
 17. I think you guys can do it!  LP is tough and those kids believe.  I'll be there for the first half then I'm heading down to The Berry Center!  Good Luck!
 18.
There is no rivalry between LP annd katy, just. A strong desire to continue the respective season and end your opponents 8)
I understand that!
