  1. If yall are going on the Ofield game to judge the Eagles, going to ba a long night. Nowhere near the same team that lost that game.

    +1000

IF the Eagles continue to play like they have been........Franklin's little trap and buck sweep wont be able to keep up.  Looking at the Leon game which Leon is AVERAGE at best, I guess the LIONS are not 10 feet tall and bullet proof according to what they are posting on here and other websites.

  2. Ok I have to say something.

    1. Kirbyville would get smoked by Tatum. You guys may be a "power" around here...but to think you're on that level is a joke.

    2. Yeah I do think Kville will be fine. I personally think y'all get 1 or 2 in district. My gut says between y'all and Buna...but I do think there will be some surprises.

But...asking for Tatum? You better be excited they went up. And you better be excited White Oak went reg 2. Having said that, I still think round 3 is end of the road. That may seem good to some people...but I'm smart enough that that's about the time you meet somebody from a different area. SETX is a different kind of football. Not in a good way. The only setx team that goes deep this year is WOS. And that's only because that joke of a region. Thanks uil.

    I agree......and even in a down year.....Newton still wins atleast 8 games a year.

  3. Maybe Tatum was just that good.........Kville folks need to keep their mouths shut and see who goes further in the playoffs.......Newton will be fine in disrict.......Newton has set their predistrict schedule for a reason.....to get ready for district.  I promise you Kvilles predistrict schedule isn't as tough as Newton's.  People do not realize that Newton may have 21 seniors but  also have several sophmores playing and starting on varsity as well.  Next year they will be fine also.....What do you think Newton should do?  Play Sabine Pass and Burkeville in nondistrict??????????

  4. Sorry bub,,,,hate to bust your bubble.....only team Deweyville beats on that schedule is Hemphill....and thats a maybe........as they will be improved also........Playing EC and Kirbyville is a big difference than playing Sabine Pass........With who yall graduated...going to be a long year.  This how I see district shaping up....#1 and 2 could go either way as both groups are usually loaded.

    1.Newton-too many weapons back+add a 9-1 JV.

2.Corrigan-Athletes and a long playoff run like Newton.

3.Garrison-PHYSICAL and like the upper two have a ton of tradition.

4.Crockett-Better athletes than Deweyville and Hemphill but who know who will show up in Crockett in August.

5.Deweyville-Physical but not enough depth or athletes to compete in this district...lost too much from last year's 9-2 team.

6.Hemphill-Playing Deweyville to stay out of the cellar.

if you like the lake area, country living
they have the boys just have to have
someone get a program back going
back in early 80s they had some big ole boys
    i remember

The boys arent playing sports. Their athletic program is devoid of talent other than Twine.
[/quote]This is NOT true!  I know most personally and have been watching this bunch boys since they were 5-6 years old.  Hemphill has PLENTY of talent other than Justin.  I could name probably 15 or so kids that could start in football and baseball for most ANY school in East Texas.

According to who??? Just like the other guy said name five??  Bringing Tom Landry back from the dead wouldnt change that place!
  6. I know two coaches who bought houses there, tried to be part of the community and even had their kids going to school there and when they decided to clean house they made those guys hit the road.  That was just an excuse for the them to get rid of this guy.  Who wants to move their if they are not "hometown" guys????????  SO they can live there 2 years and get fired???

WS, Alto, SA IS tougher than deweyville's district.  CC and NW are not very good....they will exit the playoffs quick.  Hemphill and shiro are pitiful.......Newton could combined their 8th and JV and beat those two teams.  Deweyville is solid and have a shot to win their first playoff game.  AS for all the talk that Babin should be coach of the year might be reaching a bit........He got the deweyville job at the right time.  Just like Bickham (a good coach) did in 2005.  SOmetimes a good coach can be at the right place at the right time.  IMO does not mean he hasnt done a good job at Deweyville.....

I disagree, Groveton beat Alto and SA beat us, bottom tier of the District is weak like most are. CC and NW beat Woodville the only head to head with that District so I disagree with your assessment.  Coach Babin brought a whole different scheme offensively and defensively to Deweyville and he made several personnel changes on both sides of the ball.  Like SA's Coach said after our game this year, if the same Coach was here at Deweyville we would have beat you 60-0.  Coach Babin deserves credit for making the changes he did.

He does deserve some credit but ya'll were never behind the other guy ya'll had coaching there and/or bickham.  The two coaches before couldnt do any thing right if I remember.......Two many of the town idiots would sling mug at the previous coaches.........so they kids start hearing this nonsense and never play up to potential.  I am glad ya'll are behind the guy you got now but in two years he will be burning rubber outta town for a better job when the talent dries up.
