Steve Griffith's Bears, 20-3 on the season, took their first two games of the district season with a sweep of West Orange-Stark (9-2, 17-1). Meanwhile, Chad Landry's Cardinals, 13-6 on the season, also started off district in fine fashion as they swept Silsbee (8-1, 12-8). Michael Nelson's Tigers, 9-10 on the season got off to a rough start in district play, dropping both games to Bridge City (8-1 and 12-8) to fall to 0-2 in district.
