Of note on that first Dayton drive, Coach Hooks had 5 guys who will probably be on the JV starting against a state contending first team offense.

Cleveland is loaded this year. And remember, BH is one of the smaller 4A schools in the state.

Dayton is HUGE upfront. There is a good crowd at Dan Hooks Stadium for the scrimmage and the field appears to have held up well despite the earlier rain.

The JV scrimmage just ended, WO-S scored once, Dayton did not score. The varsity scrimmage will get under way in about 10-15 minutes.

The first teams have completed their 20 minute offensive sets. Cleveland scored twice, BH none. The second teams are beginning their offensive sets, Cleveland first.

The freshmen just completed their scrimmage about 15 minutes ago., WO-S scored three times, Dayton none. The junior varsities are scrimmaging now, WO-S JV has scored once, Dayton's JV has yet to score. The varsity scrimmage won't start until about 7:30.

Barbers Hill was on offense the first 20 minutes. Although they moved the ball well, they did not score. Cleveland's offense is about to take the field.

The varsity is just taking the field in Mont Belvieu. No lights and no scoreboard over there.

Were both of those scores in the game condition portion of the scrimmage? According to my source over there, each team only scored once during that part of it.

Perhaps a little too much hype. Remember folks, it is doubtful that either Coach Hooks or Coach Stewart will show all of their cards would probably not be able to remember the "score" of the scrimmage past tomorrow. They are just looking for things that they need to work on before Week 0. That's it, no bragging rights (except for us fans). I only celebrate the fact that the schools are scrimmaging because it means that the regular season is that much closer! That being said, stay tuned to SETXSPORTS which will blog updates from Dan R. Sounds like H-D is ready to play. In other scrimmages in 23-1A, Evadale and West Sabine each scored one in the game conditions part of their scrimmage.
