  1. 4 school district
  2. Sorry, got my numbers confused. It was 10-4A-I
  3. Nope it was a set of 1st and 10 markers, chains and all, and didn't need a chaser. How do you think his defense got called "The Chain Gang?" He then went and told Coach Hooks, "Dan Ray, you paint the damn field this week!"
  4. If those schools balked at Abe Martin, I doubt they find Homer Bryce any more palatable. Bowers? Who knows?
  5. Not sure one way or the other. One thing to remember, given that some 10-4A teams have objected to Abe Martin as a venue, the procedures used over the last few years over who played when may be tossed out the window. Are they for sure, I don't know, that is just my speculation.
  6. Uh no. Such a request would only allow you to fortify in your mind the belief that you are some sort of innocent victim of this merciless oppression. I mean, my goodness, you have been SO MISTREATED in this thread. You have had your ideas disputed because you did not witness the game first hand (THE NERVE!) and because you repeatedly dismissed a small detail from Friday...the final score (WO-S FANS, WE SHOULD HANG OUR COLLECTIVE HEADS IN SHAME!). Wow, in the culture that is now today's board, how I could have allowed such negativity to stand unchecked can only be chalked up to abuse of my great and mystical powers (a charge which I am sure is not far off)!
  7. Face it, you knew exactly what you were doing when you started this thread only now to complain when the very intent you had when starting this thread was met.
  8. Then there is this....why the need to refer to them as the "mighty" WOS team when it is certain that you don't feel that way.
  9. Then there is this.
  10. But since you ask, there is this.
  11. Really? I guess you really think I am that stupid. And your words of your words of "butthurt" "attacking their baby" certainly do not further your tenuous defense.
  12. These words, your very first words in this topic, tell me all that I need to know about your intent and how you knew what the resulting responses would look like.
  13. I was told earlier today that a couple of 10-4A-I schools did nix the idea of all games being in Lufkin. Interestingly enough, Navasaota was reportedly not one of those schools.
  14. What's even funnier is that someone will come on this message board, post a negative topic about a school with one of the largest fan bases on said board, and then when several members of that large fan base respond to this original post in a negative manner, the topic originator or others that support him decries that he or she can't make negative posts about a certain school "without being attacked," sometimes even resulting in page long filibusters about leaving the board due to the "attacks." Another equally funny one is that the same thing as above happens but then the topic originator hails their ability to elicit such negative feedback as some sort of accomplishment to be applauded. I would go as far as labeling it hilarious, but then I remember that it is usually left to me clean things up when someone goes racial, personal or physical on one of these types of threads, which it seems more often than not these threads tend to do.
  15. Actually, it is tomorrow night. The Kountze ISD changed the info on their site.
  16. A couple of things. First, I wouldn't be so quick to assail the abilities of Coach Harrison. This is a man who has lead Memorial to the only Regional Championship the school has ever claimed. I think the Titan's last couple of years in 6A have caused some folks to conveniently forget that, but you never heard Coach Harrison use that as an excuse. Second, as much as I love and respect Coach Thompson, others who have posted here are correct in that it takes players buying into Coach Thompson's system. Folks at Palestine did not do that and the results showed. In fact, I will pass along a story that I heard just before the start of this season. A coach who left another area program and joined the WO-S staff this season said at the end of the first daytime full contact practice the Mustangs had this year that if his old school conducted practices with the physicality that WO-S did, half of the team would have quit.
  17. I'll have to take a look, I know there were some problems with my YTD last week, so that may explain things. I'll have to look at both weeks and see.
  18. A Class 5A bi-district match from Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu at 6 pm The winner of this match will face the Manvel/Houston Furr winner
  19. 4A bi-district match from Kirbyville High School in Kirbyville at 7 pm The winner of this game will face the Houston North Forest/Liberty winner)
  20. A 3A bi-district match from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown at 6:30 pm. The winner of this game will face the New Waverly/Hemphill winner)
  21. So, we should see Giddings, who currently scores 37 points a game or Lorena or Bellville, who both score about 33 a game, junk or adjust their current offense in favor of an offense that appeared to be the football equivalent to the late Dean Smith's 4 corners offense at Carolina? Hey Blackflag, do you see Matt Turner going to Poppy Brown and telling him this week, "I know you have thrown for over 3,000 so far this year and we are scoring about 50 points a game, but I think we are gonna junk the spread for this offense that I saw Liberty run against West Orange-Stark and I thought that they moved the ball easily?" Giving up yards is one thing, giving up points is another. And for all of yards that Liberty gained, for all of the time that they ate up, for all of the plays that they made that were taken away by the officials, themselves or the alignment of the stars, they were able to increase the points per game allowed average for West Orange-Stark from 2.9 points per game to an alarming 3.3 points per game. Good job.
  22. Not the only one, forgot to add the phrase "if they win"
  23. This: Specifically this: "22-5A This week's key games: Beaumont Central at Baytown Lee, Beaumont Ozen at Livingston, Nederland at Port Neches-Groves, Port Arthur Memorial at Vidor Who's in: Port Arthur Memorial (2098) (7-0) has clinched a Division I spot. Vidor (1414.5) (6-1) has clinched a Division II playoff spot. Port Neches-Groves (1447) (6-1) has clinched a playoff spot which will be Division II if Nederland or Beaumont Central earn the final spot and Division I if Livingston earns the final spot. If positive points are used Port Arthur Memorial clinches the Division I #1 seed with a win over Vidor or a Port Neches-Groves loss to Nederland. Vidor can clinch the Division II #1 seed if the win and Port Neches-Groves loses to Nederland or if Livingston earns the final spot. Port Neches-Groves, if Division I can earn the #1 seed by a win and a Memorial loss to Vidor which could throw the the top district spot into positive points which would give the edge to Port Neches-Groves over Memorial. If the Indians are Division II they will earn the #1 seed with a win or a Vidor loss. This week's scenarios: Nederland (1596) (4-3) can clinch a Division I #2 seed with a win over Port Neches-Groves or a Livingston loss to Beaumont Ozen. Beaumont Central (1471) can clinch a Division I #2 seed with a win, a Nederland loss and a Livingston win. Livingston can clinch a Division II #2 seed with a win, a Nederland loss and a Central loss."
  24. In 2014, Johnston led them to the 3A-DII State Championship game. This season, they are ranked #1 in every poll that differentiates 3A DI and DII (and only #2 in those that don't).
  25. I'll help. Central, Memorial, Vidor, Lumberton....Kirbyville fans can get a little testy and yes, with the push from the originator of this thread, Liberty is quickly joining the ranks. Just take a look at that HJ/Liberty game thread. And those west of the Trinity have some as well, Crosby, Dayton, Barbers Hill (at one point but not as much anymore).
