  1. Amen......and spot on. One thing about our neighbor school across the tracks....If there's not a place for you to fit in, it's cause you don't want one. Lot's of good things happening over there. I've always been a Huge supporter of Monte and company but he's gone now and it's time for change. Nederland doesn't have all the home growns and 2nd and 3rd generation kids anymore. So many have moved across the river, and to HF, Lumberton etc.......This isn't as big an issue in PNG. Just not as many diehard born and bred Bulldogs(CULTURE). Everyone needs a place to live but, Nederland is saturated with duplexes , apartments, and rental property. Say what you will but alot of these kids aren't diehards and necessarily Bulldogs due to moving in, out and around too much. This is a leadership problem, and it's in the lap of our City leaders. The ISD is saturated with kinfolks, classmates and GOB's. This can lead to an environment of complacency. It's uncomfortable to discipline kinfolk. This isn't saying Ned is all bad, it's just time for change. Top to bottom, and not just the coaching staff.
  2. Yes, time to move forward. One last thing. If its indeed true that the Head coaches of other sports at Nederland are undercutting football and or other sports, maybe it's time they too are dealt with accordingly. A statewide search is on to hire a Head Football Coach -AD. Internal issues imo should be dealt with Now rather than left to the incoming Leader. Whatever steps are needed to cleanse and unify the cause should be taken now rather then thrown in the lap of the next man up.....jmo
  3. To my knowledge, TD made 2 trips to the area when Joseph was hired. Much can be handled through zoom meetings and the internet. He's not required to attend practice, pep rallies, booster club meetings, just the vetting of candidates to the sup......It's really a reasonable sum for everything that's at stake.....
  4. I concur, the Jimmy's and Joe's were not there last year. Especially in the trenches. Here's to hoping a new staff can reignite the fire, and draw kids to the program. Injuns have a good crop of kids at the moment, and the coaching as well.
  5. My biggest question. Is it true participation is as down as advertised? Do we have a bunch of kids not participating because of the coaching staff? Can someone answer this?
  6. I'm willing to bet they have their guy.....
  7. Admin didn't wake up said day and say...I think I'm gonna force the AD=HC out today...This was in the works, with a plan.
  8. Absolutely, just seems the process has been going on longer than we all know....Hearing good things and hoping for the best. Pretty sure this has divided the status quo of the community, which is to be expected. Also think the Sup has his feet to the fire or he wouldn't have made this move.
  9. Just a hunch but, I'm thinking this process wont take as long as expected.
  10. He’s tied up with the hiring committee…..
  11. I'll take a defensive minded coach..... please.....
  12. Coordinators gone for sure.....As good as the injun coach was, we don't need that!!!!!🤣
  13. Monte didn't wake up this morning and say. Today's a good day to retire. This has been in the works for a few, no telling WHO has gotten a phone call.
  14. Say what you want about Monte, he was and is a class act. On and off the football field. Wishing him nothing but the best in whatever his plans are and sincere gratitude for his efforts.
  15. Hopefully there’s a sound plan to go outside….. This wasn’t a surprise to anyone, especially those responsible for hiring his replacement…. I’d be willing to bet a former coach is on the search committee….
  16. I would think that the confusion was due to a PN official being part of a Houston crew.....Rather than a Bmt crew....
  17. The bottom line ........The local guy knew well in advance what game he was officiating...And chose to do it regardless....Who else knew? Do the right, when nobody's looking.....
  18. This grievance will go nowhere.....The local referee in question didn't get a knock on his hotel door at 10 am that morning with his assignment to officiate said game. He knew well ahead of time what game his crew would be officiating. He also had to think at some point this could be a bad situation to put not only himself but his team and community in. You know take the high road, do the right thing and bow out. He chose other wise. I would be willing to bet it was an oversight on several levels that created this situation. At the end of the day he, imo was no way a factor in SOC losing the game. jmo
