The Longhorn record is deceiving. If you watched the games last year/this year, they are miles ahead of what they were last year. Aggie/Longhorn it doesn't matter. It is clear UT football is making the comeback.
And no it is not deceiving at all - let's analyze - 7 games played of which 3 they came out with more points than the other team and 4 of those games they came out with less points - If I remember right that is how it is scored.
Unless of course you are talking about moral victories then Texas is like 7 - 0.

Texas would be 6-1 (Loss to Bama)/ 5-2 at worst had they been playing Aggie schedule.
A&M would be 7 - 0 - undefeated and ranked NO. 1 if they played Texas schedule - See I can do it as well - Unprovable comments bring nothing to the table.

I buy a new shirt every time Texas wins a Championship!!!
My closet is full.
Still love it when Texas fans fondly remember the long long ago soooooo sweetly - and forget about the last - say - 7 years - that 51% W-L ratio is impressive since 2010.

Brings a smile to my face when I hear Texas fan talk NC when his current team is 3-4 - guess you just gotta have FAITH.

Good game for Texas in a close loss to Okie State - man I bet Texas is getting tied of those "moral" victories.
"Sure seems like last year"
That was really a shot at UTfanatic.
Texas defense plays well all game and the offense struggles again - seems like a broken record. Texas will plough through and beat a good team before the year is over I feel sure.
-
Sorry UTfanatic - topic is Okie State at Texas
And Texas better win or maybe Post Season might be in jeopardy! And even with all the "This ain't last year" c**p - 3 - 4 would still suk!
-
Back on topic.
Texas better win or ---- man it "Sure will seem like last year".

Can't get my "Quote" to work - you may well be right on the told you so's coming sooner rather than later and Texas looks better at times but again at others looks the same.
I however find it interesting that for an offensive hire and supposed mind it is Texas defense that has keep them looking like a better team this year - the offense has been well - questionable so far - till they get a running game might be a longer year than many Texas fans expected.
Gonna be fun the rest of the year as this plays out - never a boring week.
-
Recruiting says otherwise. Enjoy the win and get ready for next week. - Quote from TXHORN_ET.
Let me see if I understand - Texas doing well in recruiting but can't seem to win on the field. Brings back memories of some previous Texas coaches.
"Sure feels a lot like last year"

Not pretty but who cares - still a win.
-
This could get ugly early and often.
Do they have a running clock in college football?
-
I don't know but it kinda feels like last year at this point in the season.
Of is it just me?

If Sumlin has a job tomorrow I will be surprised.
-
A&M deserves anything anyone says about them after this game.
-
Looks like it might be another "Year of the Upset"
Well at least in the Big 12 - so far looks like Texas and Baylor lose.
-
Horn fans can't wait for the Aggies to lay a huge egg tomorrow against the Bruins. And to think sumlin has been there how many years and still can't get it done.
Ya'll had better hope so or it will be a bad bad week for the Horns. Actually - it already has been. An Aggie win would just make another long week for Horn fans - not that I would mind that.
-
Texas is just a young team again. Herman just needs time to cull off Charlie's players.
Sad part is I agree totally - and I would not write them off this year either - but I got just a little tired of the "This ain't last year" quotes - and the top 25 ranking kinda made me smile as well as they were still very unproven.
Do have to laugh at the Horn Country panic that appears to have already set in within some Texas households. Come on guys give Herman a chance - this was just his first game and you really do not know what you have on the field till they are tested by fire.

The more things change the more things stay the same.
Was Maryland supposed to be any good?

I would invite anyone who is offended by $100 handshakes to swing by an LSU practice parking lot and see how many cars are from the same dealership. I can even give you the name in advance. And the name of the guy who runs said dealership, who of course has no direct ties to the university. Other than he's in a suite every home game.
To defend your team by pointing fingers at others and say "look how bad they are" is the oldest tactic in the books.
That being said as I have stated many times - Anyone that believes that their major college program today does not only bend the rules but in many cases outright breaks them is fooling themselves.
Some are just better at keeping the violation silent.

We sucked last year and we knew it after the first two Strong years.
The ND brought some early season fanaticism, but they sucked too!
Aggies were all aglow after the first CFB ranking, then BOOM!
Who had the more disappointing season?
"This ain't last year"
hookem horns
In my opinion Texas - while both teams were disappointing Texas failed to make a bowl game after expectations (due to several good recruiting classes) were high.

Certainly not as interesting as falling from #4 to #5 in sec west but
"This ain't last year"
Or being 8th in the Big 12 - that's bottom half if it is hard for a fanatic to understand - be proud you were better than Iowa State and Kansas in 2016.
You better hope "this ain't last year".

Nope did not say anything about Hope - Hell Aggies HOPE every year just to not fall off the November cliff .
But you stated it as a fact - not Hope - and Not Faith - "We will soon have two coaches alive who have played for a natty."
We will see - if you are right I will eat crow - have before and will again - but Texas will have to do better than 3-4 before that conversation can start.
