  1. Because of TAKS testing, no games can be played on Monday or Tuesday night.
  2. Shouldn't haven't been this close, but I'll take it. We played in spurts throughout the whole game. We have to "play" the WHOLE game in order to beat New Waverly. Note: Kountze led 38-37 with about 4 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and went on a run to close the game out.
  3. Oh my! It's going to be REALLY heated in Crosby on Wednesday. Can't wait!
  4. ECBuc, what did New Waverly look like?
  5. Final, Ktz - 76, SA - 61
  6. There is some HATERS out there!!!!!!! No hating whatsoever. I just stated my opinion. Didn't mean to ruffle any "feathers." (no pun intended)
  7. For any fans not being able to make it to the game, it will be broadcasted on: [Hidden Content]
  8. IMO Newton is over-rated. Anahuac by 10+... Anahuac will be at the Regional Tournament!
  9. PAM vs. FB Travis (-3 1/2) Ozen (-5 1/2) vs. Manor Crosby (-1 1/2) vs. Brenham Silsbee (-15 1/2) vs. Cameron Hardin-Jefferson vs. Navasota (-4 1/2) Jasper (-5 1/2) vs. Lorena Newton vs. Anahuac (-6 1/2) Kountze (-17 1/2) vs. San Augustine East Chambers vs. New Waverly (-27 1/2) Big Sandy (-1 1/2) vs. Mt. Enterprise Spurger (-6 1/2) vs. Thorndale
  10. Saw that too. Coop was probably packin' it in for the night ;D Also, there is no Roman "Vaughn" for Kountze....a "Walker" maybe And New Waverly defeated Cleveland by 2, not 27, (48-46) on a last second shot... Anyways... Good job as usual and thanks for everything you do!
  11. Thats good news! Hopefully she'll be able to play some. We should only use her if need be.
  12. Kountze vs. Leon Friday, Tyler Junior College 8pm
  13. I dont thing SA has a good ball club. Kountze will kill them. NW is the team to beat In reg3 The matchup is looming Catman. If all goes well it will happen next week. Will you be attending?
  14. Do we have to play there every year? Lol....
  15. Won't be Cleveland. New Waverly played a game there earlier in the year and I don't think Joubert would agree to play at a site his opponent is familiar with. Only way that could happen is if both coaches flip for location. It will either be Lufkin or Dayton. This is all speculation until both teams WIN on Friday.
  16. PAM (-8 1/2) vs. Pasadena Dobie West Brook vs. Deer Park (-6 1/2) Crosby (-5 1/2) vs. Bmt. Central Bmt. Ozen (-9 1/2) vs. Kingwood Park Livingston (-3 1/2) vs. CE King Nederland vs. North Forest (-2 1/2) Jasper (-10 1/2) vs. Chapel Hill Hardin-Jefferson (-17 1/2) vs. Liberty WOS (-2 1/2) vs. Coldspring Anahuac (-25 1/2) vs. Yes Prep North Central Sabine Pass vs. Normangee (-5 1/2) Hull-Daisetta vs. Bremond (-7 1/2)
  17. Traffic will be a NIGHTMARE. If you're driving from Livingston, I would go South on HWY. 59 and take the Sam Houston Tollway West which will take you to I-10 and a little farther away from MOST of the traffic. Any other way and you're bound to run into the afternoon traffic.
  18. Both Kountze & New Waverly have to win their 1st game which will be in the Area Round. Kountze will face the winner of Onalaska/San Augustine and New Waverly will face the winner of East Chambers/Milburn Academy. Play-offs are hard to predict because that ONE bad game you have will be your last. The thing that I think could possibly hurt New Waverly the most is lack of district competition as their closest game was a 25 point win against the 2nd place team. Not looking too far ahead but hopefully we get to see this matchup. The winner of Kountze/New Waverly takes Region III. Mark my word! You heard it here first!
  19. How are you up LATE in the 4th quarter and lose by 16? Doesn't sound right to me. Maybe they led in the 4th. But remember, this game was also played without Kountze's best player (in my opinion), Roman Walker.
  20. I would think Lufkin, but both teams have to win their first game. :-\
  21. Great game on the part of both teams. Kountze jumped out quick in this one by the score of 12-2, but Anahuac battled back to cut the margin down to four as Kountze led by 4 at the end of the 1st. Kountze starters Roman Walker and Domingo Smith (PG) both picked up two fouls in the 1st quarter and sat THE WHOLE 2nd quarter in which I was thinking Anahuac would run away with the game but they didn't. Although Anahuac began to heat up in the 2nd quarter with Rivon & Boykins hitting from beyond the arc, Anahuac only led by 4 at the half. The 3rd quarter was pretty much back and forth in which the score remained close and Kountze led 63-61 at the end of the 3rd. Anahuac in my opinion, shot as many 3-pointers as 2-pointers and that is where I believe the game shifted. The early part of the 4th quarter would have the Lions going on a run as Walker & Milton Williams took over and the Anahuac press was no longer a factor as Kountze broke it with ease which led to many easy buckets. The 3-pointers were no longer falling for Anahuac, but they continued to shoot them. Turnovers also became a factor for the Panthers as fatigue set in and West had to play some inexperienced players who carelessly turned the ball over. With 2 minutes to go in the game Kountze led 80-67. Rather than pulling the ball out and burning some clock, the Lion players continued to shoot which allowed Anahuac to score more points but they were not able to cut the deficit down to less than 7. As I said earlier this was a great game for both teams and luckily no one came away with any injuries. Both teams will do well in the playoffs.
