Kountze loses to Gatesville 49-53. I am hearing Kountze may be without Roman Walker for longer than expected (knee injury). Looks like a long season for the Lion team.

Hope he's doing okay and gets well....SOON! His injury hurts, and also HELPS the Lions. They will now have to find someone else to step up and be a key contributor with Walker being out. Its good that its early in the season as this will only help them down the stretch when/if Walker gets into foul trouble. We now get a chance to see what they can do without him on the court... Make me proud young Lions... I'm still with you.

Winning is VERY contagious. But in all seriousness, it starts with the youth. They have to develop that mentality for winning at an early age. Most, if not all of the current Kountze players started with our Little Dribblers program (as did I) and the success continues year in and year out.

Thanks for the summer league update TopDawg. I really dont put to much stock in Summer League games because you never really know who's serious on the court when they're playing. I played Summer League, and the teams we lost to in Summer League knew they didnt stand a chance against us when the Varsity season REALLY started. The stakes are higher during the season.

I've been hearing this for 2 years now, even before Bray put on a Kountze High uniform. Until he "officially" enrolls at St. Pius in H-Town I won't believe it. IMO if he were to flee, I strongly believe it is because Roman Walker has stolen some of the "shine" Bray imagined he would have. As soon as I hear more, I will post the details.

Just wanted to jump in on this real quick, even though this thread is about Marsh from Hardin. 'Dickie V', your statement about says there is no way a 6'2 class 2A post player is going to be chosen for the Gamble team. Question, at 1-inch taller, you have Devin Brey from Kountze(2A); plays in the post; are you saying that as a Junior/Senior in the years to come, he has NO chance to make the "Gamble" team? Carry on....

No disrespect here, but I don't think there will be another player in this district that matches the caliber of a Tramaine Thomas type. I watched him come on the scene as a Freshman and he dominated for all 4 years. He added dimensions to his game each year, making him a better player. At any given moment, you knew he could take over the game. I hated to see him with the ball in his hand because I knew he would do 'something' for his team. I think Hunter Davis benefited from having Marsh on his team, so with all of the attention being on Marsh, Davis would be the 2nd option. One would have to watch the beginning of next year to see how he adapts to being the "go-to" man for Hardin.

You're referring to Thaddeus "T" Holden... I also think he had a very short stint at Lamar if i'm not mistaken
