1.
I was curious about that match up too. I would have thought it would have been better for Memorial to play Central and HJ to play Anahuac. I really wish that my Silsbee Tigers would have been short handed for their game with Kountze, but now that football is over for them, Silsbee should have all their players available for this game. I say "should" because a couple of Silsbee players sustained some injuries last night that they may need to recover from before they hit the court.
AAW, why do you wish that Silsbee would be short-handed for the game against Kountze? Maybe I'm confused.
2.
Well, one game into the season and I would have to say that Kountze's Roman Walker is the best player in the area. He is so explosive, had 5 dunks tonight. Really attacks the basket well and very active defensively. He has all the tools to be a great player.
Good point on his explosiveness AAW. You could tell towards the end of last season after he came back from the knee injury. Glad I'll get to see them take on the Tigers next Friday when I'm in town.
3.
McDaniel did not score in the first half.
Wow.  :o Thanks for the updates AAW!
4.
Halftime Lumberton  24 Kountze  65 scoring Lumberton   Dumbleberger   11 Cervautes      6 Romano        3 Koch            2 Fountain       2 Kountze Walker    19 Johnson   13 Brey       10 Whisenant  10 Tealer      8 Linn      5
Where's Zay McDaniel at for Kountze? Is he not playing?
5. Looks like both teams got what they were hoping out of the "scrimmage". Should be a great matchup next week IN Kountze. Go Lions!
6.
The Lions usually have a pretty good cook themselves  ;D ;D ;D
Riiiggghht! Especially during District play! The streak is at 8 years now!
7. We're right were we need to be utfan06....
8. We want Sabine!
9. Looks like you are "Mr. Untouchable" here in Houston j/k.... ;D Anyways, I saw your story in the VYPE Sports Magazine....Pretty good!
10. I'm assuming that you're speaking of Josh Hancock. He played at Northwestern State and came back to coach in Kountze for a few years. He's now coaching in Louisiana.
11. Quick question; Why does last year even matter?
12. From what I saw from Kountze at Silsbee's summer tourney, Brey will definetly help them but they will not have the best starting 5 in the whole area. Unless you are strictly speaking 2A. I'm thinking 2A. This additions helps tremendously. You now have Bray, McDaniel, Walker, and David Johnson. Could be deadly for alot of teams. I'm expecting a run to Austin this year. I think Kountze will be the 2nd best 3A-and-under team in the area behind Silsbee. AAW, where's "sabinebball" now? Haven't saw him on here since his Varsity team won the 16-under GASO NIT division.... I'm sure he's reading about the addition.
13. and now Devin Brey. AAW, how do you know Bray is projected to be a starter this year? J/K....
14. ??? Unless his California "recruiters" will follow his progress this season, I see this as a bad move. Just my honest opinion. He should have stayed in California where he was getting decent exposure, especially where he was living (Los Angeles area). Didn't see this one coming! Anyways. Welcome back Devin.
15. And all three are the top scorers for Kountze....should be interesting...
16. End the speculation. Devin Bray will not be returning to Kountze (well not for school anyway). Period. :-X
17. Lazeek, I dont think he's returning. I know he was on the radar for the UCLA Bruin football team. From what I know, he's a pretty good football ATHLETE, key word, ATHLETE. Uses his speed very well. Like I posted earlier, I see him playing football at the next level. He's in a pretty good area (USC, UCLA, UCal, SDSU) for football players.
18. He will more than likely be playing football at the next level.... :-\
19. Just so "his" team is mentioned in regards to 2A Region III basketball, I will say that everyone in Region 3 MUST go through Sabine to get to state. There! Are they playing in the H-J Tournament this year. It's a must that I see this juggernaut team! PLEASE let them play Kountze this year.....
20. According to some, Texas revolves around "Sabine". : From the way "HE" posts, they've been a 2A juggernaut for years....in basketball, that is! : I didnt hear about them until last year.
21. Buc, this is Gladewater Sabine. They're a 2A-Reg III team in East Texas. "sabinebball" posts on here I guess to keep us informed on his team's "Summer-Time" basketball success. They ran the table in a 16-and-under Summer GASO Tournament. Like AAW said, if they would have lost, we would have never heard of them. No one reallys cares about Sabine Basketball down this way bud..... We know how to win....Championships that is!
22. I seriously doubt it "A-TOWN". You had a 1st-teamer and the MVP of the district on last year's team and you were 1-2 against us. You lost both of those guys along with a few others. You guys MAY have SOME offense, but trust me, it wont be like last year. Don't set your expectations too high. Get ready to battle for 3rd place as I see Kountze and EC being the front-runners in the district.
23. Anahuac loses almost 70% of their scoring offense....
24. Even back when I played in Summer Leagues you could never really get a gauge on how you were going to play throughout the school year. Scores were almost always lower than expected and games were very sloppy.
