  1.   ASA / IFA wants to thank the teams supporting the "Cancer Series" held at the Beaumont Athletic Complex this past weekend.  We will have the next two events on Nov 5 & 6 for "all ages" and Nov 12 & 13 for "8/10/12/14" divisions.  We already have teams signing up for both of these weekends and hope to see more teams.  You can check out the teams list on the ifasoftball website, click the "Cancer Series" link at the top of the page and go to "teams entered list" to view teams entering for these weekends.   If it is your team's first entry into the Cancer Series events, the cost is $75, second weekend is $50 and third weekend is $25.  Pay at the plate of $30 per game, round robin 4GG format with free substitutions.  Gate fee is $5 per person with all profits being donated to the American Cancer Society.  All workers at these events are volunteering their time and efforts to help!   Good luck to all teams and again thank you for your participation in a worthwhile charity!  
  2.   ASA / IFA wishes to thank all teams, parents, supporters and volunteers for a very successful first weekend event!  The continued support of the "Cancer Series" will ensure that youth fastpitch softball will be involved in the research for a cure for cancer.   The second weekend of the "Cancer Series" will be Oct 8th for 16U and 18U teams.  Get signed up now on the "Cancer Series" link on the IFA Softball website.   Again, thank you for your support and we hope to see you again in the Series which will continue for three more weekend events!
  3.   ASA and IFA will host the 16U & 18U "Strike Out Cancer" 4GG round robin weekend!  Beaumont Athletic Complex with all profits donated to the American Cancer Society!  Entry is only $75 with pay at the plate.    Come play and give back to the community, as all workers are volunteers!   Teams entering now!  Deadline for entry is Wednesday, October 5th at 2:00pm! Fall is the "time" to give back!  ASA (District 39) and IFA (Area 8) are joining forces in the Fall of 2011.  The Youth Fastpitch "Cancer Series"-----Team Pink!   This will be three of four weekends for all divisions 8U / 10U / 12U / 14U / 16U / 18U to enter 4GG round robin events (1:15, finish the batter with free substitutions) with all profits being donated to the American Cancer Society!  This will be play at the plate for umpires and one ball per game provided by the team's to the home plate umpire.  In lieu of trophies/medallions, all profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society from this series.  Gate entrance fees will be provided with a receipt for "tax purposes" showing that you donated to the American Cancer Society.  Teams must be either ASA or IFA registered with "any" team insurance acceptable.  Enter more than one tournament weekend in advance and reduce your entry fees for the weekend. •  First weekend of participation o  Team entry fee is $75 •  Second weekend of participation o  Team entry fee for two is $125 •  Third weekend of participation o  Team entry fee for all three events is $150 Weekends to choose from are: •  "War on Cancer Kick-Off" o  October 1 & 2, 2011 o  8U / 10U / 12U / 14U / 16U / 18U o  Single Tournament Entry Fee:  $75 •  "Strike Out Cancer" o  October 8 & 9, 2011 o  16U / 18U o  Single Tournament Entry Fee:  $75 •  "Cancer Awareness Weekend" o  November 5 & 6, 2011 o  8U / 10U / 12U / 14U / 16U / 18U o  Single Tournament Entry Fee:  $75 •  "Team Pink Finale" o  November 12 & 13, 2011 o  8U / 10U / 12U / 14U o  Single Tournament Entry Fee:  $75   Because this is a "dual" sanctioned event, entries will be collected in one location on the IFA website.  Choose your weekend(s) of attendance and choose your cost!
