I had forgot about Big Spring. Now they are down to 3A.
-
Didn't the original Little SWC also have San Angelo Central in it? Once again Angelo is with with the panhandle schools.
-
Did any of you notice that in the 5A finals 3 of the 4 teams base offense was the I formation. I am not sure what relavance that is, but found it interesting.

They may in district if Kirbyville moves back to 3A.

Is this a possibility,(moving back to 3A) and if I may ask,Where did you get your information...just curious..first iv'e heard about it..
[/quote]
It depends where the cut off is for 3A. It will probably be from 425 to 440. I think Kirbyville turned in around 430 -
Could be a rematch next year. Abilene has 18 starters back including both the Sims cousins.

The Berry Center lower level goes from endzone to endzone. The upper level 20 to 20. The offical seating is 11,000, but I have been to a game there where the announced attendence was right at 15,000.

AggiesAreWe brings up a good point. I get a chance to see games around the state and Setx has fewer turf stadiums than any other part of the state except maybe the valley. I sometimes wonder why that is. Even some of the six-man schools out west have turf fields.

Final Woodville wins 54 to 34.

Woodville 54 Hemphill 34 late in the 4th.

Woodville 40 Hemphill 34 in the 4th quarter.

If district members vote to not allow noise makers during district games they can do that. I know the district that Brownwood is in is like that. They use their noise makers for non district and then put them away for district. I think they did that to stop Brownwood from using their cowbells during games. At least that is what the Brownwood folks tell me.

A good article on Shipley and Case McCoy.

I know all of us focus on East Texas, but I say Abilene Wylie play this year and they are big and fast. I would not count them out. They will probably be in the big school division.
-
I think this was just a draft they did earlier in the year to get an idea of how it would work. That has been up on their site for a couple of months.
-
I have not seen anything about other sports. In the split conference set up there will only be two teams from each district make the playoffs.
-
I got those number from Oldcoach.com. They have people who call every school an get the numbers.
-
I think a lot of towns like Stephenville have a lot of retirement age people moving there. I know Brownwood has around 20,000 people and the school is 3A. Over half the population is over 55.

This link has possible drafts of districts under split-conference alignments.
